I love Sarita’s and always introduce my Spanish students to their authentic arepas and Colombian fruit juices. I dream about their café con leche and travel every weekend just to get a cup. The salsa picante is dreamy… The staff is lovely though clearly operating under last centuries pace. Enjoy it, you can travel back in time for a bit! PS Even the Hispanic kitchen staff at my school wanted to know where I got the arepas – they had never seen such yummy looking ones!

At the beginning I was glad to find Saritas Bakery because I love coffee and the other bakeries had gotten so expensive, now after a while this bakery has been in business it’s really slaking off. The coffee is still good, however the empanadas are way too small and the chicken should really be renamed«mashed potato» not a trace of recognizably chicken. The pastries are stale, the guayaba and cheese puff lacks cheese and hardly has any guayaba in it plus it was not sweet. The guayaba & cheese empanada would have tasted better if it had been backed that day, too bad it was in the display case so long. The cheese Danish is salty and has salty hard cheese. The worst is the chicharron that must have been in the case at least a month, it was dry and stale and fell apart. The small red potato was good .The worst assortment I ever got for ten dollars, not one item was fresh and savory. The girl is a sourpuss, no manners or friendly attitude. Gave me only two little napkins for all. If you speak to her in English you fare far worse. I spoke to her in Spanish and asked if the pastries were fresh and she said they were. She obviously does not know what fresh means. I was very disappointed. Una verdadera porqueria!!!

Love the chicken empanada … Beef isn’t so good it’s just really filled with potato … Service is crappy the guy is friendly and nice but the girl is dreadful and mono tone especially if your not Spanish … It wouldn’t kill her to smile … Very clean looking great variety and the fresh squeezed oj is great

I am a teacher who works directly across the street from Sarita’s Bakery. I think the others who wrote these reviews must have meant some other bakery. Sarita’s is one of the best bakery(Latino or not — and I no hable Espanol!) The counter girl, Ana, is courteous, and friendly. The food is some of the best I have ever had. I have been eating there for almost 4 years now and have always gotten fresh and delicious treats. The coffee is great and served with heated milk. Wonderful! The bakery is the cleanest location to eat on all of Corona Avenue. Viva Sarita’s!

Best thing in the store is their Empanadas, home-made hot sause and the coffee. The prices are fair, the staff is slow, often leaving standing there like an idiot, also its a small bakery, cant really sit down and eat if there is another group there already.

The pastries, empanadas and other deep fried fare are basura. At best, they might be good for a cup of coffee. But, if I drank coffee, I’d probably just get it from Dunkin’ Donuts across the street. In summation, Sarita’s no es bueno.

The pastries there look good, but they one they gave me was absolutely uneatable. It was dried out, hard as a rock. I had some meringue candies that were alright, but they also seemed stale. The lady who works behind the counter understands limited English, and isn’t friendly at all. Maybe it’s because I’m not Hispanic, but even so that’s no way to treat a customer.
