Wow. Just wow. After our experience buying our pre-​owned car at Simmons-​Rockwell, we will never buy a car any place else. We found the car we liked online and made an appointment with Kyle to test drive it that evening. When we arrived, Kyle was outside in the cold, waiting to greet us, and the 2015 Nissan Rogue was running and all warmed up. We loved the vehicle and greatly appreciated Kyle’s knowledge of its features. What was most unbelievable was the fact that we signed papers and got to drive it home that night! The whole process was smooth and QUICK. Kyle has called us a few times since then, to check in with us and make sure all was going well. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Kyle and Simmons-​Rockwell!

I was referred to SR by a co-​worker of my girlfriend. I filled out the online credit app and was immediately contacted by Chris, who worked his magic in two days time to get me financing for a pre-​owned vehicle. Once arriving at SR, Xzane showed me the vehicle they picked out for me based on financing and he walked me through the features of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. After taking the car out for a test drive and making the decision to purchase, Chris & Xzane took care of the paperwork and even helped me out with finalizing my insurance purchase for the car. I was treated with respect and care as if I was a close friend who was looking to purchase a car. Both Chris & Xzane did an excellent job and I am still amazed that Chris was able to get financing for me, he is a miracle worker! Xzane was full of answers to all of my questions and I left feeling as though I made two new friends along with purchasing a car. Thanks again for an amazing car buying experience!

Well, this is an interesting story! First of all, you NEVER tried to contact me. We have had both of our vehicles there for service numerous times. They have my home #, cell #, and my husband’s cell #. There is no record of any phone call from you at any of those numbers. Furthermore, we have voicemail and an answering machine. No message from you on any of them! As I said, interesting story. Lets move on:
1. Yes, my vehicle had 86,000 miles on it when I brought it to SR. When my check engine light came on it was in the upper 85,000 range. SR couldn’t fit me in for another week. Your point regarding the emissions warranty is completely irrelevant to my issue with Simmons Rockwell. That is an issue I have with Hyundai not SR, so I don’t know why you are even bringing that up, other than to shift emphasis from the real issue at hand.
2. I did not have the vehicle looked at by another «repair facility». I took it to Oil Express for an oil change. When they have a vehicle come in with a check engine light on, they routinely check the code for free. All they could tell me is what the code was. They don’t even do vehicle repairs. Again, a point that is completely irrelevant.
3. Your SR service rep was the one to suggest that we try to find the part ourselves. He provided the part # to us. Before we placed the order, my husband called to verify the part #. The rep confirmed that the part # was correct. That is when the rep said it would only take ½ hour, not the 2 hours we were initially quoted. We proceeded to order the part from another Hyundai dealership at a $ 400 savings to us. This was a brand new original Hyundai part. Somebody over there really doesn’t know what they are doing, actually numerous people. We aren’t talking about one discrepancy here, there were several… huge ones, at that. You found your error at the time the mechanic was about to do the repair, not before.
4. I was given a copy of the printouts from the website you refer to. It shows the part description, part #, warranty repair time and standard repair time. I am still baffled as to how this mistake could have happened. You guys GAVE us the correct part #‘s, so how do you misquote the repair time like that? It’s not like the bank 1 & bank 2 part #‘s are even remotely similar. In addition, the part descriptions on that website are not even worded as being «bank 1 & bank 2». They are «catalytic converter» and «right exhaust manifold» (the correct part being the «right exhaust manifold», not catalytic converter as we were initially informed both verbally and in writing). The only thing that I can think of is maybe the mechanic didn’t know the difference between the parts, which would not speak highly of your mechanics.
5. Your statement that I found a «backyard mechanic» is insulting. He is a QUALIFIED mechanic that works for a competing car dealership. I have been told by 2 service managers at 2 different shops that this man is the best mechanic in our area. He was cutting me a break because of what we were going through, and what you guys were trying to pull in the middle of it all. He fixed the car and it has passed inspection. He is an excellent, trustworthy mechanic with a conscience. You SHOULD want to hire him. Although, I don’t expect he’d want to lower his standards.
6. I’d like to refer you and the readers to a website endorsed by major news networks and top publications:
At this site, you can input your vehicle by make, model, year, your area code and the type of repair. It will then show you a repair price estimate for having the work done with a list of garages that can do it in your area. So, for my specific vehicle in my location, the replacement of the right exhaust manifold ranges from $ 284 to $ 730. The breakdown is Labor — $ 122 to $ 155, Parts $ 162 to $ 575. We paid $ 150 (labor) & $ 600 (parts), so altogether it was $ 750. Pretty accurate.
In summary, the points you bring up are largely irrelevant to the issue at hand. It’s amusing how you try to turn this around to make it seem like the customer is somehow at fault by bringing up completely irrelevant information. It just furthers my opinion that customer retention is not of importance to SR. So what if I didn’t purchase the vehicle in question at your dealership. Wouldn’t receiving good customer service from your repair department influence me in my future vehicle purchases? Actually, we did buy one vehicle from you in the past. We almost purchased our 2012 Subaru from you, but you guys botched that deal by telling us you were able to get the vehicle we wanted but then at the last minute you reneged on it. Another SR disappointment. In the end, I’m glad we didn’t give you our business on that purchase.
