Doodyman To The Rescue

Won’t call him again charged extra when only cleaned one drain not two. Doesn’t know when its one drain pipe not two. Sink not connected to tub found out after tub clogged and called someone else. FYI

I rent the place where I live. Pipes in the shower froze last Friday night. Called landlord Saturday, said he would call the plumber he uses. Two hours later he still hadn’t heard back. Called Doodyman (ridiculous name but oh well). Left a message, call was returned about 15 minutes later, said they would have someone out shortly. About an hour later Derrick shows up. States what needs to be done in addition to the new shower body as once the pipes unfroze I couldn’t completely shut off water and I tell him I need approval from the landlord. He states I can call office until 11pm to confirm. Called back at 7 pm and they told me Derrick would be back on Sunday. Sure enough at 10am he comes in, spent seven hours there with his helper redoing shower and changing three valves in the basement. He even insulated around the pipes where there wasn’t any. Put up a new piece of wall and tiled as well, Came back on Tuesday to finish grout job and adjust the water temp as it was too cold. Would have given five stars but they were supposed to show up at 3pm on Tuesday and wife called at 3:30 to find out where they were. Office said we weren’t on schedule but I saw him schedule us on his iPad from my kitchen table. Anyway, he was there by 4:30. So, other than that it was an excellent company to deal with. Would definitely recommend.

Not impressed at all. They couldn’t do a simple sewer to house/​house to sewer unclogging. They used a snake and couldn’t fix the problem and then told my husband we’d probably need some high powered machine and probably have to excavate outside the house. NOT! Charged us for a visit that did nothing. The guy we called next had it unplugged in less than an hour. Look around on Unilocal for someone else. Not these guys.

These people told us we had cracks in our pipes after Sandy. Thank god we got a second opinion! No cracks! DoodyMan would have charged us $ 12 000.00 to dig up the floor and replace the pipes! That does not include the cost to replace the floor!

Do not use these clowns they are a joke. Called them to clear any potential debris after construction was done in my house. They quoted me $ 150 and then they get here and tried to convince me to pay $ 700 to jet clean the line otherwise I would «definitely have problems.» It was so obvious he was trying to rip me off I almost told him to just leave. The guy who showed up was nasty and sloppy leaving his finger marks all over freshly painted wall. Beware of calling these guys.

No one likes to pay for plumbing work. Getting multiple bids and references is always best, but you can’t in an emergency. Doodyman did extensive work for us, arrived very quickly and got the job done immediately, and the quality of the work is outstanding. And I’m somebody with some experience owning houses, including rental investment houses, and I have hired many, many plumbers.
In Long Beach our sewer line completely clogged with sand after superstorm Sandy. Roter Rooter wanted to snake all night, pulling up wet dirty sand and dumping it in our basement, and bill us by the hour, but I stopped them after 2 hours and $ 700. Next morning, I called Doodyman to dig up our 90 year old sewer line, because I’d seen them in LB. Why excavate? Because if you’ve ever been to the beach, you know what happens when you try to dig a hole in the sand. Our sewer line was clearly compromised and if we didn’t fix it right, any fix was not going to last, in my opinion.
Doodyman neatly excavated to the street, replaced lines and the big basement sewer valves (as the Long Beach official who visited our basement wanted), and successfully recruited the City to dig up the street – at no charge to us, this is a $ 5800 job – to remove the sand where our sewer line joined the main. (we paid $ 6100 for this part). They identified additional problems in our basement and offered to fix them, replacing bad sewer pipe that we knew was installed wrong (we paid $ 2400). They then did a beautiful job repairing our sidewalk, which needed work before the sewer dig. We opted to have the whole walk replaced, 50 linear feet and 6 – 8 feet wide, and rebuild the curb. ($ 4250) They did everything possible to preserve our landscaping elements and sprinkler system while tearing up our front yard as neatly as possible. They damaged our fancy brickwork, but obtained matching bricks, cut them to fit, and placed them. All this took a crew of 2 – 4 men two days to accomplish, with heavy equipment and various pieces of light equipment.
Today I called them back to fix a cracked hanging sewer line that just decided to leak (90 years old and badly rusted out) and to replace feeds to the washing machine that were ancient and leaking. The work is beautiful, professional, and neat; probably 40 – 50 linear feet of copper pipe and plastic pipe, with 5 new valves (the old ones were all failing). This work cost $ 1200.
You can find everything on this list cheaper, probably, but if the quality is poor you’re going to pay again in a year or two. Everything they did looks done right to me, and it’s all guaranteed as well.

Had an issue with this company took awhile to get on the same page but eventually we worked things out the job was done

5 stars for sure… The Doodyman delivers results. I had the recent opportunity to do business with Doodyman to the Rescue in Elmont and they certainly have it all going on. They had the equipment and manpower to complete the job with speed and efficiency. They made a complex job seem simple. I would do business again with them in a heartbeat.
