Nassau County 5th Precinct

the officers who work in this precinct are the most unprofessional ones i have ever seen. i had the unfortunate experience of dealing with them, and i hope thats the last .very rude to say the least.

We were told our accident report would be ready within a week, 3 weeks later we were still waiting for my wife’s accident report that the insurance co. needed and after calling and calling and calling finally we were told it was ready. My wife was working so I had to pick the report up. I pay the $ 10 fee and leave the precinct reading the report, It was all wrong. I went back in and asked if the officer was available. He was paged and 20 minutes later he appeared. I introduced myself and showed him the report and proceeded to explain how the accident happened. He sternly interrupted me and said «were you in the accident?» I said «No but my wife was stopped and the other driver went around a school bus into her lane and clipped the driver side». Your report has her making a left hand turn into a driveway! He screams at me and tries to intimidate me with his size almost chest bumping me and said «its my job to listen to both parties and determine what really happened.» Now I’m annoyed and said even if she was making a left turn and the guy hit her the damage would be to the right side of the car… Right! because the left hand side isn’t in the other cars direct path anymore! I guess I proved my point because he throws his pen to the side and yells «I don’t have time for this», and leaves.
Now I go to the counter and ask another officer how do I get the report amended? He just looked at me and I could tell he knew I was right but he basically said without saying it, «what can I do». And I politely said to him «I guess this is the blue wall of silence you always hear about» and I left.
I don’t do drugs. I don’t steal. I obey the law. I pay my taxes. SO DON’T TALK TO ME AS IF I’M YOUR SON.
I have 3 friends who are NYPD cops a cousin who’s a V.F.W (violent felony warrant officer) state trooper. A friend who’s a MTA cop, a Court Officer and a buddy who’s a Garden City officer. I respect the job and know the dangers that my friends have told me about but I also know they are no better the me or you and they should have to do their job correctly and speak to people the way they are spoken to.
The «cop» I dealt with was nothing but a bully.
PS my Insurance agent laughed at the report she called it the most laughable report shes seen in 19 years stating it made no sense.
