Kurt is just so awesome; a true artist. He painted our entire living room, dining room, and 3 children’s rooms upstairs. He also painted the wood trim that went along the ceiling, a fireplace, ceilings, some door frames, and some radiators. I could not even imagine hiring anyone else after working with him. He was extremely polite, detail oriented, a very good communicator, and honest. I really hope I get to work with him again one day! Please do yourself a favor and CALL KURT!!! You will not be disappointed.

I contacted Kurt for a quote to paint my mother’s house based on his list of very positive reviews on Unilocal,we are extremely happy with his work. His pricing was very reasonable and he gave me a detailed quote within a day of his visit. The work was major: repairing plaster damage and painting the whole 1200 square foot upstairs of the house. The work was done in a timely manner and on schedule as promised. Kurt is very kind and accommodating, going above and beyond to provide extra finishing touches without having to be asked to do so. Kurt has excellent design taste as well. He suggested I replace my old dingy beige blinds to match the new paint and it really made the place pop. He took care of everything as well for a very reasonable price.

We hired Kurt to paint our Oak Park condo including bathroom and kitchen based on a referral from a friend. He did a fantastic job. Courteous, prompt, and professional, we couldn’t be happier with the job he did. When he ran into a problem with a stained door that kept «bleeding» through, he noticed (we wouldn’t have) and used a special pain to seal it, and then repainted it to the right color. He went out of his way to make sure things were done right – even followed up a few weeks later to make sure we were pleased. That’s old-​school customer service that you just don’t expect or get from contractors these days.
I’d hire Kurt again, no question.

I used W. Schaefer & Son to paint my new office and I couldn’t be happier! He was very flexible with our building’s schedule and worked after business hours to get the job done. He got the room done in one day and did an excellent job. I would definitely use him again!

Kurt has been an asset to have when we have needed our places primed and painted. I have contracted him for several projects at both our condos, our house and even my mom’s! Aside from just painting Kurt takes a special interest and has an eye for flaws in walls, floors, tiles to name just a few areas and makes suggestions on how to fix them, fixes them and then continues with the painting.
My husband is tough to please but Kurt has won him over with his quality of work and I have received many compliments on how our places look thanks to Kurt’s work.
In terms of cost, I’m usually pleasantly surprised with his quotes since they do not exceed my budget. He is dependable, reliable and very trustworthy and will continue to use him on all upcoming projects and continue recommend him.

Kurt painted a bedroom on the second floor of our house. I loved the results. I’ve painted my own rooms before, but this one had some big holes in the wall that needed patching and sanding. This kind of work was beyond my scope of experience. He did a great job. I wish I had before and after pictures — you can’t even see where the holes were. I also had a very difficult closet that he was able to do (think phone booth size, with a sharp narrow turn that went way back). I have and old house with the big trim. He did the walls, the ceiling, the trim, the window trim, and the closet. And his bid was $ 100 less than the other 2 quotes I received, even with 2 coats and the extra patching, sanding, priming. He accommodated my schedule and was able to come earlier in the week when I asked him. I’m very happy with the job they did.

Kurt is a relaibe and talented painter. He says what he does and does what he says. His prices are great too. He has painted our entire inside, part of our outside with stucco repair and did it all in a timely manner. I would have him come back in a heart beat! Laurie Rice
