Stellar, amazing, epic! Great venue awesome food and super crowd! Just a great venue, with aerial acrobatics, body painting, incredible edibles and buzz worthy cocktails and juices. NIQUE, home run on this party!

Holy Schmol! Probably one of the biggest and baddest events I’ve attended yet. Perfect spot for this shindig and it was also geared towards helping the California Food & Justice Coalition. Did you get to try the smoothie that was blended using the energy from peddling a bicycle? That was pretty fun. Awesome entertainment — the electro-​pop orchestra music was outstanding and the aerial acrobatics by Nina Sawant was amazing! And opportunity to get your hair and make up done? — great! The vendors with food and drinks were also a hit! My faves were Doggy Style Hot dogs (wooo the dogzilla is a new fave and I couldn’t wait to visit their actual location!), Phat Matt’s BBQ (peach cobbler… mmmmmmmm!) and What the Cake? (their cakes were very impressive aaand they tasted great!).
They had security guards posted at the entrance so we felt pretty safe! :)

I had a wild time at the Welcome to the Jungle Event. Dressed for the event, my friends and I were ready for the party. There was a great DJ playing music and of course the Guns and Roses song as the headliner song of the night.
The event space is really nice. I could totally see this place being utilized for larger events where you want to have seperate spaces and even set up a stage. There were so many vendors that we had fun bouncing around and trying new things.
I got my eyes done up with some fantastic glitter by Trevor at the Paul Mitchell booth. This set the mood for the night and from then on, I was going all out. From there, I met up with a sexy tigress that told me to get my face painted. Why not? I’m a wild animal and it fit.
I really enjoyed the ladies of Blue Angel Vodka, with the baby martinis. And the food! There were gourmet hot dogs by Doggy Style,
and Phat Matt’s Bbq had BACON CANDY. Yes, maple sugared bacon. Amazing.
I was stoked that the Zico Coconut water vendor knew about mixing thier coconut waters with vodka. That’s smart drinking if you ask me. Remember that one, while you are out in the summer sun. Vodka + Coconut Water = Delicious!
But it was the Freixnet Champagne Room that got this cat frisky and wanting more. Who doesn’t love this champagne? I got my snarl on.
I loved the event, it was so fun I could barely control my laughter. I loved the cat makeup and the fun night, thank you to Nique for bringing the wild for a fun night out!

I came here for a Unilocal event and I must say that I was impressed when I came upstairs! Don’t get me wrong, the first floor was cool too with a kitchen in the back, haha.
This 2-​story event space was impressive. Don’t get me wrong, the first floor was cool too with a kitchen in the back, haha. The 2^nd floor had high ceilings; high enough to have acrobatic tissue performance! It even has a small private optional room to the side. I thought it was nicely decorated, with pretty trendy furniture.
This place could fit quite a lot of people and I wouldn’t mind any other party that would take place here!
The only downside to this place is maybe the location. It can be difficult to find parking depending on the day and it’s hard to cross the busy street to get to. But overall… amazing space! :]

I will never tire of how friendly and giving people are at these Unilocal events. Thank you Paxti pizza, Phat Matt’s BBQ, Blue Angel, and the other vendors for constantly feeding me and quenching my thirst!
My two favorites:
Kimchi Hotlink: The crunchy kimchi added such a refreshing kick of spice and flavor to the hotlink in its toasty little bun.
Citrus Martini: I never thought to add grapefruit juice to vodka but boy, do those two blend well together! I could drink those all night! Until I pass out that is: p
The extra-​curriculars of the night were TONS of fun. I got my hair did in a wild way that I wouldn’t ever dream of doing on a regular night and my friend got painted by their talented artist. Nothing tops off an event like a photo-​booth! The guys were so nice, they let us go twice so we could each have a copy of the picture!
Best of all, I finally got a picture with the ambassadors :) Can’t wait for the next one!

The venue of the recent East Bay Elite event was held at this dance studio on lengthy San Pablo Avenue and right below highway 580.
The theme of last week’s Unilocal elite event in Oak-​town also got me singing Guns N’ Roses classic tune.

Indeed this past elite event has everything. You name it. The elite event has free food & drinks from local vendors & carnivorous Unilocalers from various parts of Bay Area dressing up like they are tamed animals from the Oakland Zoo («Rawr!»)
Among the food vendors that were there were:
–Alameda’s Doggy Style Hot dogs.
–St Francis Vineyard
–What’s the Cake!
–Phat Matt’s BBQ
–Patxi’s Pizza
–Blue Angel Vodka
–Champagne tasting from Freixinet Cordon Negro

And for entertainment, East Bay CM: Nique had acrobats dancing on the rafters and some lady dresses up as Lady Gaga singing opera electronica tunes. «Freaky!»
I have only seen a few SF Unilocalers attending this unique event. But Joe Cool had fun breaking the ice and chatting with many East Bay Unilocalers.
Thanks to the new Charlie Angel’s of Unilocal (CMs: Nique, Abby & Jessica) organizing another fun event in Oakland. Also thanks to Unilocal for hiring bouncers to maintain the safety of the Unilocalers, which is very helpful and a plus.
I can’t wait to «Knock-​knock-​knock on heaven’s door» for the next elite event in the East Bay!

I had a fantastic time at Cityline. The space is absolutely wonderful. Spacious without being breezy and intimate without being claustrophobic.
Popping in I grabbed myself some What the Cake, which was mouthwateringly delicious and probably my fav of the night as well as a bottle of Honest Tea and a glass of the bubbly Freixenet was passing out (I love their bubbly!).
OH Snap had a fun Photo Booth set up downstairs so Amy J and I even ended up getting a couple pics of the night (love it when they do double copies:) And I adored the Aerial Dancer, she was fantastic!

Dressed up in my safari duds I was all ready to jungle boogie in Emeryville, CA at CityLine Event Center at the «Welcome to the Jungle» YEE. Who knew that there was a jungle in Emeryville?!
CityLine was a two story jungle Thursday night starting out downstairs with DoggyStyle Hot Dogs from Alameda, bringing two of their DoggyStyle Dogs: Doggyzilla (Bratwurst with an Asian Slaw, Wasabi Mayo, Teriyaki Sauce, and Seaweed and Kimchi «Pyro» Hot Link with Kimchi, Cucumbers, and Special Spicy Red Hot Mayo.
Thirsty? Make your way over to St. Francis Wine from Santa Rosa. They were pouring three varietals: a 2010 Chardonnay and two 2009 Sonoma County «Old Vine» Zinfandels
Honest T (love all their low calorie tasty teas!) was pouring a variety of their iced teas to sample.
Music and Costumes? You got it. DJ Prize’s Electro-​Pop Orchestra brought it with electronic sounds and a accompanying light show.
What’s a YEE without a photobooth? Well no worries they had one!
Time for me to make my way to the upstairs jungle where Phat Matt’s BBQ greeted me with… candied bacon, a candied bacon wrapped meatball and a stuffed mushroom with tasty tasty cheese. As I was about to move on, I was then handed a sample of some of the most delicious peach cobbler I’ve ever had (mom, yours is still #1!) I’m doing my very best from keeping drool off my keyboard as I type this…
Still hungry? No problemo Jungle Jim! Make your way over to Paxti’s Pizza where they were sampling a variety of their tasty pizza (Loved the pizza with artichoke toppings)
Ok, you must be getting thirsty again, well make your way over to the Blue Angel Martini Bar and pick yourself up a mini martini glass of either a classic vodka martini with a olive or a pink grapefruit martini.
After your martini, make your way over for a refreshing ZICO Coconut Water to make sure your well hydrated.
Are you feeling bubbly? Head on in to the bubble lounge and pick yourself up a glass of Freixenet sparking wine from Spain poured by the lovely Jocelyn.
At this point I was craving some ice cream, thankfully Ice Cream from Chocolatier Blue was there sampling Lemon Basil Eucalyptus with Candied Cocoa Nibs and Coconut Sorbet with Pineapple Caramel Sauce. Delicious! (You can get more from their store on 4^th St in Berkeley)
For our upstairs entertainment we were all mesmerized by the aerial acrobatics of Nina Sawant while others were getting body painted with jungle animal prints from Jessica Yurash.
Heading back downstairs and before leaving the jungles of CityLine, I thought, What the Cake? and sampled some of the owner, Natasha’s amazing cake creation.
Nique, Jocelyn, Jessica, and Abby thank you once again for all the hard work you ladies do for all of us Unilocal Elite! Great Job! I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Going to this event solo-​dolo, wasn’t too bad at all.
Still knew enough people from the get-​go (Ed. V. and Christina L.) and got to know a few more (Steph, Vi from the infamous YT, Anthony and others).
But my special highlights were of the following:
Chocolatier Blue’s Ice Cream Concoctions: Lemon Eucalyptus and Cacao Beans, organic ice cream never tasted to healthy and clean. The perfect palate cleanser and dessert to finish off a hearty tasting of Unilocal dishes. Coconut Ice Cream w/​Pineapple Caramel, can you say… popcorn flavors in your mouth, you bet your ass you can. Reminded me of what I tried in Incanto SF, recently, truly decadent.
Phat Matt’s BBQ (Oakland/​Emeryville, CA) was also awesome. Heard about em and only tried em for the first time during this event. Their glossy bacon and stuffed mushrooms were flavorful, but the homemade Peach Cobbler, was a home run coming out of O.Co. Coliseum. All the flavors were there, it was crumbly, sweet and complete in flavor profile.
All the Beverage Vendors, Zico, Freixenet (bubbly, thanks Jason for hooking it up), Blue Angel (maker of Sky Blue vodka), and St. Francis Wines (thanks Erica for also hooking it up).
Doggystyle Hot Dogs (Alameda, CA) offerings: were also some tasty treats (just concern with some copyright infringement because they have a dog named «doggyzilla» and the people of Dogzilla Food Truck (Orange County, CA) might be offended by the name and similarities in hot dog flavor profiles.
Last but not least much thanks to the staff (Nique and the Cityline crew) and the Performers (I didn’t see them all except for a DJ/​Singer duo, which made me felt like I was watching an indie impromptu of EDC, minus the tweakers).
Overall a great time and what a high bar for Nique to set in terms of events here in the Bay Area. Cheers!

Mademoiselle Nique and Demoiselle Jocelyn outdid themselves. I truly felt like an honored Elite at this party.

Thanks to Nique, glittering with green and gold gorgeous eye make up courtesy of make-​up artistry by the Paul Mitchell School & Salon (who were also doing hair styling) and wearing a wreath on her head while a stuffed monkey swung on her back, she greeted me warmly and ushered me upstairs, so I started in reverse order from top to bottom :)

Blue Angel Martini Bar serving the cutest and tastiest martinis, both Grapefruit and Classic with an Olive. Skyy Vodka founder Maurice Kanbar has done it again. I hope they show up at a future YEE.
ZICO Coconut Water made another appearance, giving away their 11 ounce Natural Coconut Water packaged a la a juice box. Yum. I’ve gotta say, with a cutie Promo Guy like Evan, I’ll drink their product any day!
Phat Matt’s BBQ dished out Candied (!!) Bacon that made everyone drool, delicious Bacon-​Wrapped Meatballs, fresh Homemade Peach Cobbler made by the owner Charlotte herself, and a vegetarian option — Veggie Stuffed Mushroom covered in Melty Cheese.
Paxti’s Pizza was there again, handing out mini pieces of variety of their most popular pizzas. I tried their Greek and Special samples, which were quite good.
Chocolatier Blue ice cream was the bomb! The Ice Cream Maker, Danielle, created two ambrosial, unique, gourmet flavor combinations on both ends of the spectrum: Lemon Basil Eucalyptus with Candies Cocoa Nibs and Coconut Sorbet with Pineapple Caramel Sauce.
Jessica Yurash was creating body paint masterpieces in the center of the room. You might remember her from the Rainbow Riot YEE at Vessel Gallery (
). Girl’s got mad skillz!
Nina Sawant’s aerial acrobatics were an elegant touch to the evening. Her performance elicited oohs, ahhs, gasps and applause from the audience while we stood mezmerized by her contortions while swinging from white curtains.
DOWNSTAIRS
St. Francis Wine from Santa Rosa in Sonoma County was a welcome addition. The Marketing Reps, Dave and his associate, were pouring three varietals: a 2010 Chardonnay and two 2009 Sonoma County «Old Vines» Zinfandels. I really liked the full bodied flavor and would love to try more of their wines!
Honest Tea brought the non-​alcoholic fun! (Side note: I’ve been a huge fan for years, so I’m happy to see them at Unilocal events!) Bryan, the rep, had a variety of refreshing flavors to sample — from Peach to Orange/​Mango to Pomegranate to Half-​and-​Half.

Oh Snap! Photobooth was on hand to commemorate the occasion with a trio of celluloid memories.
DJ Prize’s Electro-​Pop Orchestra, wacky bird-​like costume, and laser light show was super cool! I felt like I was at a hip dance club grooving to some stellar beats.

This event was SO unbelievably entertaining! Just everything from the food, the people and the entertainment. I am so glad Zico was there and I finally got to try Paxi’s pizza. Doggystyle hot dogs, chocolatier Bleu, phat matts bbq all were amazing, as was the space!
Normally, we always have to travel for these events so it was definitely fun that this time one was right incur current town. I do know that part of Emeryville/​borderline Oakland to be a bit sketchy but it turned out to be fine, knowing we found parking right out in front. The events, especially in the east bay are getting better and better.
Thank you so much to everyone who worked so hard to put this event together, all you lovely vendors for your generousity and especially all the folks at Unilocal aka Nique, Jessica T and Abby, you gals are so hard working and simply rock!
I have to say the painted tiger lady was the highlight of the evening (you go girl for being so brave to volunteer yourself!) and of course everyone liked my full on kitty face painted by the very talented girl who was doing the face painting table (sorry I didnt’t get your name before) but you did a fabulous job!
I was so content I could just keep purring all night! ;)

While we were circling the block searching for parking I had an «Ahaha Moment» when I noticed that the Emeryville city limit sign is right on the same street as the Cityline Event Center. So just in case you were wondering where the name came from, there ya go…
Upon venturing into the midst of the jungle we were greeted by the very cool non-​profit California Food & Justice Coalition. Later they were churning out delicious Vegan smoothies from a bicycle powered blender. Sweet!
Honest Tea brought their ‘A’ game this time with plenty of different flavors. Even better they were handing out full bottles in addition to the samples. Zico coconut water was a much welcome addition. Especially for those that either weren’t able to drink or those that drank too much. This hangover remedy should be present at all events!
Chocolatier Blue threw a curveball at us and presented some outstanding Coconut Pineapple Sorbet. Funny, I was expecting chocolate. A delicious Vegan treat made more decadent with the addition of the roasted cocoa nibs. Much appreciated!
The mini Blue Angel Vodka martinis were an interesting option for me since I don’t normally drink these. I may have to change my stance on the humble Martini.
Freixenet was occupying the bubble lounge. While this room was filled with bubbly people sippin’ their bubbly, I was disappointed to see an acute lack of bubbles from the cool lil’ Freixenet bubble makers. I think people were saving these to take home.
I always love when Patxi’s is at these events. They help make us few Vegan folks not feel like total outsiders. Their Vegan pizza is the best!
The nekkid, albeit painted tigress was hot and friendly directing folks to the talents of the body painting artist, Jessica Yurash. My date got a hot cheetah print on her thigh to match her shirt. So hot!
On to the highlight of the event… The incredibly talented and fit Cirque du Soleil-​esque aerialist Nina Sawant. I’m not even going to begin to describe her performance. My words cannot do her routine justice. All I can say is that it was amazing! I truly felt that a grand Vegas performance was happening before my eyes. My jaw dropped a bit when we had a cozy front row seat for her eye-​popping second act. Like W0W! Even the DJ downstairs, while talented in her own right, acknowledged that she couldn’t compete with the acrobatics going on upstairs.
The Cityline event center itself is a pretty cool space that appears to be very transformable to whatever mood the event requires. It seems the showers in the restroom, while odd at first, could come in handy for the right event…
As is always the case with these events, the company you keep makes an event. On this night, my company was very special to me. Our Oh Snap! photobooth picture of us is worth 1000 words and memories. Of course all the fellow Elite Unilocalers added to the evening while looking fab in their jungle-​y best as well.
CM extraordinaire, Nique puts on the best themed events and always has the best costume. I wanted to grab that monkey off her back! Thanks Abby for checking us in for the event. I got to see SF SWU Eliteness Jessica T. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to say hi as I was taken aback with her So What’s Upness that I was a bit dumbfounded. Many thanks to all involved for the best YEE of the year (so far)!

I nearly missed this space especially since I was driving with Meg T and Diana V after picking them up from MacArthur BART which was also an ordeal in itself. Luckily, Diana was familiar with this part of Emeryville.
Before entering, we were greeted by the lovely Abby S and Jessica T at the door. Check-​in was super quick and there were already a lot of people inside. I grabbed a wasabi hot dog from Doggystyle and boy it was tasty. I almost had some on my face when I ran into Charlene and Ed V. What the Cake made an excellent animal themed cake which had a frosting that was delightful. Honest Tea always bring yumminess for when I need a non-​alcoholic beverage and the rep that was there was really friendly and helpful. Photobooth by Oh Snap! was also fun with lots of costumes and four shots. They also gave Meg and I each a copy of our pics — no need to ask someone to scan them for us.
We heard there was an upstairs which was quite spacious and open. Phat Matt’s BBQ were at the front serving up tasty bites. The candied bacon was quite yummy so I’m glad I went back and got a piece since I had dropped mine on the floor. Thanks to Kellie T for letting me know it was «The best part.» I wholeheartedly agree. Freixenet Cordon Negro Champagne gave me a nice buzz for the night. They even had a small tote for us to carry our goodies. Chocolatier Blue were serving yummy sweetness which made the perfect summer treat. Who can forget Paxti’s who gave me not one but two sample bites of pizza.
The aerial dancers were interesting, especially the wardrobe malfunction that occurred during the second performance. It made me giggle a bit. Downstairs, Prize was singing her operatic synthrock which was quite interesting.
I didn’t try Zico and I had a small sampling of a delicious grapefruit vodka cocktail at the end… but overall, I stuck with some of the non-​alcoholic bevvies since I had to drive back home.
I didn’t get my hair done (or did as you hip kids say) nor did I get my face painted but it was fun to see everyone getting into the jungle theme.
This is definitely a great place to throw events and fundraisers so if you’re looking for a space that can hold a good amount of people with comfortable lounge chairs and room to dance, check this place out.
Also, I loved that the California Food & Justice Coalition choreographed their own little dance number. I guess they saw it on Oprah. I was hoping for Thriller but what they did was adorable — they even grabbed Meg and I to join in towards the end. They seem like a fun group, so go out and support them.
I had a great time catching up with my friends tonight. Thanks Unilocal — Nique, Jessica, Abby and Jocelyn. You make these events seem so effortless. I’ll see y’all later.

What a great Theme for a Unilocal event. I put on my Camo Shorts, My Pistol and My Jungle Boots and Jumped into my Urban Assault Whip and rolled to CityLine. I stashed my Whip a Block away down low style. I street hiked to City Line.
I was greeted by the Lovely Jessica and Abby. They both were looking very sexy in their Knee High Boots. They sign us in and gave a brief overview of the YEE. Rolled in to City Line and Whoa sensory Overload. Off the Hook!!! DJ Down stairs, Wine Bar, Doggy style Hot Dogs Yummy!!! The What the Cake Folks handing out Delicious pieces of cake. Honest Tea and OH Snap had a Photo Booth set up Downstairs,
Upstairs in Niques Boom Boom Room Phat Matt’s BBQ Double Yum!!!, Paxti Pizza New York style pizza Yum! The Lovely Jocelyn was popping Bottles of Freixenet Cordon Negro like a female Puff Daddy but way sexier, What an Angel! in the Champagne room. There was also Chocolatier Blue yummy. Zico Vodka in another corner.
To top it Off there was Red Hot Aerial Dancers Hanging, Flipping, Dropping, Flying and just being Hot!!!

2012 The Year Of Human Nature, The Good Life and Freedom!!!

What a lovely cast of Unilocal staff, entertainers, and vendors! Doggy-​style hot dogs were the best gourmet hot dogs I’ve ever had. Soft sweet chewy buns filled with different themed toppings. I thought my Banh Mi hot dog was a Banh Mi sandwich with a hot dog inside! What delicious innovation! My hubby couldn’t stop talking about the candied bacon from Phat Matt’s BBQ. Their generous BBQ trio included a grilled cheese mushroom that I really enjoyed. Patxi’s pizza had some tasty samples as well. I enjoyed the coconut sorbet from Chocolalier Blue and the generous Zico drinks. Finally, Nina Sawant’s aerial acrobatics took everyone’s breath away!
It was the perfect party. I even got a kind reminder from Nique to bring my ID as that was pretty important for this evening’s entrance. Thanks again! :)

Nique and her crew are to be applauded. These events keep getting better and better. Parking was a bit challenging and I did end up with a screw in my tire at the end of the night BUT those pesky things aside — the event was energetic (two floors), vendors enthusiastic & diverse (hair/​makeup/​shakes/​sorbet/​ice cream/​cake/​bbq/​other meats/​photo booth), riveting entertainment (upstairs: aerialist who came close to hitting the floor a few times, so was holding my breath occasionally as I watched + body painted nearly nude model Tiffany (pics forthcoming); downstairs: dj and singer Prize performed. Oh and there was vegan pizza (hooray — something for me to eat!). On both floors, there were many places to sit down and eat and chat.
CityLIne has a gated parking lot that I expect will be open to those who throw parties here. Big plus. Will keep this venue in mind and will suggest to other friends looking to host large gatherings.

Props to Phat Matt’s BBQ. I’ve only had glazed bacon served to me once before, by Emeril Lagasse’s catering staff at a super posh party in NoLa. Phat Matt’s glazed bacon was better than Emeril’s. Top secret glazed bacon recipe from Emeril’s caterer: toss bacon in brown sugar and bake on a rack in a hot oven. I can only imagine Phat Matt does something similar.
I don’t often have an excuse to bust out my leopard print bell bottom jeans. Thanks Nique for giving me a good excuse. Rrrraaaawwwrrrrr!!!

The meatball Bacon covered from Phatt Matt’s BBQ was so good I almost forgot my name Charlotte the owner is sooo amazing. You know she’s proud of her creations made out of love!!! I guess that’s the secret ingredient?
I heard about Patxi’s Pizza being known for their deep dish pizza but the pepperoni/​sausage thin crust that they were handing out was equally good as well.
I had a bite of that wasabi hotdog from Doggystyle
(YUM) and tried the rum cake made by the proud owner Natasha of What the Cake on our way out and they’re AWESOME!!! Their cakes are moist and not too sweet, its puuuurrrfect!

The Cityline Event Center is huge! Perfect venue to gather all Social Butterfly Elites. Parking is a little bit of a pain in the you know where. :)

This was my first YEE in the East Bay and boy was it a good one! I was hesitant to RSVP at first because I am in the middle of studying for the CA Bar Exam, but this place was so close to my apartment and the list of vendors was just too good to pass up. Thank you so much to Phat Matt’s BBQ, Doggystyle (heeheehee), Zico, Honestea, Chocolatier Bleu, Paxti’s and the rest! I haven’t spent much time outside my apartment since I started studying a few weeks ago, and the party almost overloaded my senses. Here are some thoughts that went through my head tonight:
