Consignment Classics

I consigned a piece of furniture hear. When I checked back a few months later I was told since it hadn’t sold it had been given to charity. It would have been nice to have been notified so I could have taken the piece back.

This place has a ton of neat stuff. I recently purchased a bed frame and I am very happy with it. They delivered it to our home for a reasonable price as well. The people that work there are very nice and helpful.

The furniture we were looking for was not all that great. There are a lot of pieces here that are badly damaged (in all types of furniture, not just what we were there to get). However, there were a lot of great finds for upcycling or refinishing. We left without finding anything. But it was worth the shot.

First time in there I found the dining room set for which I had spent months looking. Gorgeous Rosewood and classic (non-​fru frued up) design. VERY reasonable and I feel good giving a second chance to this table and six chairs. Chairs and table from different sellers but go beautifully. Brilliant display personnel. Sales people, especially Jessica, a dream and the craftsman, Carlos an absolutely superb magic maker. Carlos and Steve delivered the table and chairs the next day — even called before to tell me en route. They went way out of their way in assisting with the old table. I cannot say enough good things about the experience.
I will have to go back in the future and I urge the untutored (in consignment– like me) to go there. Honest. reliable, beautiful, quality furniture and great prices. And the people are fantastic!

I love this place and have bought and sold several pieces thru them. Yes it’s a warehouse. Don’t come in here looking for 5 star service. If you need help, go to a real furniture store. This is for the smart consumer who can spot a bargain and is willing to haul it out. They will help load if you’re willing to wait. They are BUSY! Some things are overpriced (like rugs) but they have a great selection of just about everything.

Yes, «hit or miss.» Smaller selection (floor space). Limited chandeliers and lighting. Much more selection of these items (and better consignment location for lighting) at San Diego location off I-​5. No entrance greeting offered nor spoken acknowledgement to customer for being in the store. No offer to help customer shopping, by coming out from behind the counter (but if the clerk is going to stay there, absolutely do NOT yell across the store something insincere about helping). Silence may be better at this shopping venue. Look around and find something that might work for you or just walk out empty-​handed unnoticed… Store personnel are perhaps used to people just wanting to browse and not be hassled. Signage marking entrance to store location in corner of strip shopping center could be enhanced.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Rudest employees ever! Extremely rude over the phone and in person. I would never go here again or recommend anyone! Stay away!

Very friendly ladies however I would definitely make sure you know your stuff before you purchase anything designer from them!
She assured me a Chanel was real that it was lamb skin she had obviously never felt a real Chanel it felt like cheap vinyl. Also Chanel does not make parts that are removable like pockets made out of cheap fiber.
They were asking 2495 $ for a bag that looked like it cost $ 24.95
I would like to believe she genuinely thought that bag was real and wasn’t trying to sell me a fake bag.

I love this place! I have furnished my office with the great finds at a very reasonable price. I have also consigned my furniture. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I like the fact that when you purchase an item they give you a few days to pick it up and if you need to rent a truck they have them right there or you can pay for delivery.
When consigning my items, I found that I had to check in with them on a monthly basis to see what was sold. I always received a check the following month after my items were sold.
I have referred many people to this place and their sister store near downtown San Diego.

I love this place. I love this place. I love this place. Did I tell you I love this place?! Found some great counter stools and a magnificent dining room table and chairs for our new home. The stools just needed some dusting, and the table required about an hour of lemon oil and elbow grease. But for the price, it was well-​justified.
I’ll definitely keep checking in for that dresser I so desperately need… and I’ll never buy retail again.

Heard about this place from a friend. Sold an elegant solid wood futon and mattress/​pillow set from World Market. Drop-​off was easy. It was a brand new item I bought for $ 500 and they wanted to sell it at $ 127, and split the sale. That was depressing but I’m guessing is industry standard.
A couple weeks later I got a check in the mail and that was that. It was very easy working with them, so 5 stars for that. I dropped a star because I was disappointed in the sale value. I have not done enough research to know if my experience was pretty reasonable or if I could have made more money going another route or another similar company. I’m all for simple and it needed to be out of my garage quickly. They also brought out a towel so I could wipe down the dust after I unwrapped it. They were generally quite pleasant, but a little too busy and it felt a little like an assembly line. Can’t fault them for that; they were efficient.

I regularly bring things to consign. They are helpful and courteous in anything I need. I always find things I am looking for too. I would say go there first for shopping. They have great prices. I know they are not a place that takes junk or items that are not just gently used, so don’t expect them to take your badly warn stuff. The clothing store is another part of this store. I don’t find that the clothing department is somewhere I personally can shop and consign at. The gal who runs that store turns most items away. I had a new pair of shoes that would be great for New Years wear and she said they were summer shoes. I bought them in November. I also know they don’t take too much for the larger women. So I don’t shop there anymore.

After telling us we could not buy the table a week later I called back and it was still there. So they sold me the table at fair price. They came through in the end!

Love coming here … You never know what you’re going to find and it’s enjoyable process all the same. I lucked out last month and bought a Beautiful hand carved wooden curved screen and they were kind enough to help me into the car with it. I see it every day and smile. Thank you

We went in to buy two bar stools. We bought are coffee table and some other items here and were happy with the experience.
This time was a little different. We found a couple bar stools we liked but felt $ 129 each was a little over priced for these simple short used bar stools. We could have bought brand new beautiful bar stools from Costco for $ 99 each, but they were just a little to tall.
Anyway, we also found a fire gate that was pretty beat up but was the perfect size for $ 69, we figured we could just refinish it. We just needed it to keep our 1 year old yellow lab, from turning into a chocolate lab from digging through ash when we’re not home lol.
Being that this is a consignment store that sells used stuff we asked if we could get maybe a deal 5−10% off if we bought the two stools and the fire gate.
I’m sure they get asked for discounts all day, I would imagine it’s just part of the gig. You don’t go to a used car dealership expecting to pay sticker price.
When we talked to the woman employee I was surprised when she said she could not do anything on the price. She was even kinda rude, like we offended her or something.
We decided to buy the stools anyway, but said nay on the fire gate. The gentleman at the front said we could wait a week and if the gate hadn’t been sold it would be marked down 20%. Well I’d imagine there’s not a huge demand for used fire gates and it will be there for 20% cheaper next week, instead of sitting in my living room 5% cheaper this week!
We should have just gone to a new furniture store… that’s my .2 cents ;-)

For some reason Unilocal does not mention that Consignment Classics in Encinitas is a local Penske Truck Rental outlet. We learned that through a Google search for ‘truck rental’ and we’re mighty lucky we did. They currently (10/​29/​2014) are running a special, only $ 30 for up to two hours. That’s a great price normally, but for for now it also includes accident insurance AND no fee for mileage. We completed our task in the two hours traveling 57 miles.
This was for a 16-​foot truck, good for moving a one– or two-​bedroom apartment’s worth of stuff, though doing all that in the two hours would have been a challenge. Extra time would be $ 14/​hour, still very reasonable. We had only a few things to move, including a bed, and the final bill was $ 30.24.
The store, a consignment shop, is also an amazing place to wander around.

Similar to several of the other posts I was extremely disappointed today at the customer service provided during my recent visit and phone conversation. I went in the store on a Monday and found two matching pieces that I dearly wanted to purchase as I had been looking for items like these for some time. They had just come in so they were not priced yet. I pleaded with the gentleman at the front to see if he could speak with someone to get me a price but he said unfortunately the approval process would take place and I would be contacted as soon as the items were entered into the system.
I left labels on each item with my contact information and a circle around 1^st CUSTOMER. Towards the end of the following day I got a voicemail with a price quote and being that I was at work I did not get it until after hours, I called the next day and they were sold! I cannot express how terrible the feeling was and I would have paid far beyond the asking price… but I was not given the courtesy of a few hours. The store has great one of a kind finds but after this experience I will think twice about shopping at Consignment Classics and certainly NEVER leave without a locked quote or paying first… your item will be gone if you do! What an absolute shame.

There is some super cool furniture here… but still quite a bit more expensive that I would like to spend at the moment… i see that they do mark items down… so i’ve got my eye on a few pieces and hoping that they lower the price. a lot!

It’s a good place and the employees are nice. What else to say. I don’t know. It’s a place that sells stuff you probably want. You should check it out.
If you’re looking for used furniture, this is the place. If you’re looking for unusual decorations, this is it. If treasure hunting… yep. Sometimes you’ll score here.
You just never know what you’ll find here. I like to search for unusual home decorations, curios, or just something I didn’t know I needed. Though I find really cool stuff here, I can’t possibly put it all in our home so I torture myself by letting bargains stay where they are. I truly regret letting some of my finds go, on many occasion but, as I said, I can’t house it all.
Search Consignment Classics for yourself. They have a good turnover of treasures and very often the prices are quite right. This location is huge and I overheard the employees saying they have 2 others, though I don’t know where.
Ending the same as I started: It’s a good place and the employees are nice. They sell stuff you probably want. You should just go see for yourself.

Great variety of items, from large and often unique furniture pieces to outdoor items (once saw a HUGE turtle garden statue and, sure enough, someone had bought it), to kitchen essentials and art. You can find anything here! If you’re looking for something very specific, it’s always harder. But if you’re bargain «hunting», Consignment Classics are a perfect destination. Their service is good and I recommend using «BORROW BOOK» for any items that you’re not 100% sure about. A cashier will take your CC and contact info and you get to take your purchase home for 24 hrs to decide if it’s a keeper. Otherwise all the sales are final. Happy hunting!
