Edward B. Coffey, DDS MS is dedicated to excellence in general and cosmetic dentistry and has been practicing dentistry in Encinitas since 1984. For over 31 years, families from Encinitas and surrounding areas have relied on Dr. Coffey for preventative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and restorative dentistry, as well as personalized service and quality dental care.
Dr. Coffey is a Prosthodontist offering several services and treatments with expertise ranging from porcelain veneers to dental implants, crowns, bridges, and dentures. We also offer teeth whitening, nightguards, sleep apnea appliances, full mouth reconstructions, and more. Dr. Coffey provides emergency dental care 24 hours a day for his existing patients, as well as for new patients.

Established in 1984.
Dr. Coffey opened his practice in Encinitas in 1984. Since then, over 15,000 patients have entrusted their dental care to him. His first office was located just east of I-5 on Encinitas Blvd. In 1992, he expanded his office when he moved to his current location at 1445 Encinitas Blvd. He designed his new office to best fit the comfort and quality he wanted for his patients and staff members with:

Dr. Coffey was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He speaks both English and Spanish. After graduating with his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from The University of San Carlos, Guatemala in July of 1979 he continued his education at the University of Michigan, where he obtained a full ride scholarship because of his academic excellence. In 1981 he graduated with a Masters of Science in prosthodontics (crowns, bridges and dentures). After graduation he was invited to come back to the University of Michigan as an assistant professor with tenure to help teach the junior and senior dental students the art of fixed and removable prosthodontics. In addition, Dr. Coffey is trained in TMJ disorders, implant restorations, and maxillofacial prosthetics.
