It was my first time buying a car and I was shopping around for a good price. I went to Carlsbad Ford and North County Ford which are awful, North County didn’t take me seriously and thought I couldn’t afford a car due to my age and Carlsbad tried to get me to pay way above MSRP for a Fusion that didn’t have half of the features I have now. I was getting discouraged but finally I found Encinitas Ford! When you walk in its a different dealership experience. It’s friendly, family owned and you don’t feel like they are trying to scam you. My experience was amazing and I would highly recommend this Ford. Kevin Sales was kind, patient and really helped me get exactly what I wanted for the price I could afford. Dooley located one of the few 2017 SE Ford Fusion since they are new and have limited stock and had it shipped to the dealership just for me to see it. Maryann also called me and let me know that she was here to help even before I went to the dealership. The process for buying the car was easy and fair. My dad works for Ford so I got employee pricing as well as rebates that I didn’t even know I was entitled to such as Military Discount, College Student and First Time Buyer. I got a great price for my trade in and was excited for my new car. Once I got my car Kevin Sales showed me all the features of my new car and even took a picture with me. Since I am moving soon the dealership even shipped my new plates there for me to get at a later date and gave me a complimentary oil change and car wash before my road trip. My dad has been in the dealership business for over 20 years and was even surprised at the quality and level of excellence that Encinitas Ford has to offer. When I forgot something in my old car that I traded in Kevin drove me to get it! Encinitas Ford and everyone that works there, thank you so much for making my first car buying experience great!

I am a Plumbing Contractor with my own business and I am also a Pastor involved in Missionary work in Baja Mexico. I am very sorry to say that I received very poor business ethics and customer service from Encinitas Ford. I recently purchased a Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van for my Plumbing business and for my Missionary work from these guys. From the very beginning I had specifically stated to the Salesman, Drew Davis, that I wanted «factory stock» rear doors and windows, exactly like the ones on the Ford Transit Connect I had already test driven at Escondido Ford. The van that Drew had for sale did not have rear windows but Drew assured me that they would take care of that. What I didn’t know that meant is that I would not be receiving «factory stock» rear doors with windows (as per my request), but instead, Drew sent my van out to a local business to have them «modify» and chop out the existing rear panels and install new windows. When it got back to the lot, I saw that the rubber stripping around my new windows was bulging in some places and in other places it wasn’t even glued in. They also painted over their mistakes and scratches with a touch up paint. I never stated that that was what I wanted them to do. I also received a cheap after market rearview mirror that fell off in my hand when I tried to adjust it. And according to the owner of Encinitas Ford, Mark Wheeler and the Service Mgr, Jeff Gelt, it is now my responsibility to make the arrangements to have all the screw ups and flaws corrected. I tried to return the van but I was told by Jeff Gelt that I would not be able to do that. I then told Jeff that I did not OK my modified windows and that the only way to make me happy was to install «factory stock» rear doors and windows, like I had specified from the very beginning. He said, «Well then, I guess we are going to have an unhappy customer.» These guys did a classic bait and switch job on me and I am now stuck with a $ 26,000 van with botched up windows that I never agreed to. My mistake was taking it off the lot in the first place. I truly wish I had never met these guys. I trusted Drew and these guys to take care of me and they ended up taking advantage of that trust. My best recommendation to anyone is that if you are interested in a Ford vehicle, DO NOT purchase it from Drew Davis or Encinitas Ford!

I love this dealership. Honestly for one reason Kevin Sale is a great salesperson. He ACTUALLY wants you to get what you want! Go see him. Do it.

Just picked up a new Focus ST for my son Zack. It was his first new car buying experience and the fine people at Encinitas Ford took great care of him. Dooley was awesome and able to get the pricing right… Lindsey brought it all together.

Will and Lindsey are awesome! They literally moved mountains to get us the deal that would make us both happy and we could financially afford! It took a great deal of time to get the deal but it was well worth it. We had our infant daughter with us and all the Ford staff were so accommodating and helpful to get us anything we needed while we were there. Will was great and helped us map out a complicated deal were we were able to trade our two cars for two brand new ones. Lindsey is a whiz with numbers and helped us get a great deal with a bank that would finance the cars at a low price.

Outstanding service all around. Very accommodating. I won’t go anywhere else after my last two experiences here. Thanks again John for helping me prepare for my road trip!

I applied for a loan online. I was told by this location to come down even though I told them I had $ 0 down. well, that was just a ploy to get me there because once I was their, I was told I need a down payment. Wasted gas and wasted time.

Don’t know about sales department but on 2 occasions I have been to the service department out of convenience as it is close. On both occasions I found the service personnel flippant and non customer friendly. Work was completed correctly but sales coordinator was not interactive relative to a completion time and did not call to notify when complete. Much better experiences at Kearney Pearson Ford. Don’t know about other San Diego are Ford dealerships.

Forget everything you have ever known about car dealerships when you pull into Encinitas Ford. Shopping there transcends any experience you have had. We could not be happier with how we were treated when buying our F150. Zero pressure with our interests put ahead of theirs. Dooley in sales and Lindsey in finance were exceptional, and the whole staff was first class.

Proof in the pudding. We have bought 3 cars from these folks. I am sitting here in Will Guthrie’s office, sales rep, after signing on my new car.
I have been here for 45 min, I did not get any gimmicks or tricks as normal, and I got what I needed.

Bought a brand new F-​150 from the team at Encinitas Ford. This truck is awesome! I feel like I am driving a spaceship compared to my trade-​in (2008 Nissan Frontier). I am a Ford guy all the way now. When I drove onto the lot I was greeted with smiles and handshakes. Went straight to the trucks I was interested in, took a test drive while they appraised my trade-​in. I liked the first one they showed me so we went to do paperwork. They gave me a great deal on my trade in with no haggles. I was in and out in a couple hours from start to finish. Nice job Encinitas Ford, Dooley, Kevin, Lindsay and Mark, for getting me into the nicest truck I have ever owned. I am so happy.

I wanted to take a few brief moments to explain a customer experience I had about 3 weeks ago when purchasing a new truck.
Over the past 2 to 3 months, I’ve been searching for a new truck for all of my towing needs. On New Year’s Day, while conducting an online search, I found what I thought was the exact vehicle I was looking for online, which was located at Encinitas Ford.
At the time, I was on vacation in Big Bear, and calling other dealerships at the same time for the same reason. I truly was hoping not to drive all the way to Encinitas to buy a truck.
I called each dealership who I thought would have trucks that would fit the bill, Encinitas being the furthest away. From the call alone, I already knew who I wanted to work with.
As we all know, the car shopping process can be daunting for many, exhausting, and all around stressful. I knew from the moment Maryanne picked up the phone at the dealership, that this would not be one of those experiences.
Maryanne immediately went and personally checked the inventory to ensure the specific truck was there prior to me beginning my drive. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly pleasant to speak with. Immediately after she located the vehicle, she passed the phone to her colleague in the sales department, Andy, for a quick meet and greet.
Andy was great, he immediately asked me a series of questions to ensure he was on the same page as to what MY needs were. He really LISTENED to what I wanted, instead of trying to push me in any certain direction he wanted. I knew right away Andy was really in my corner to help me along my way.
When I arrived some hours later at the dealership, both Maryanne and Andy were prepared and awaiting my arrival, greeting both my fiancée and I at the front door. It was great, because we had already talked for some time over the phone, I felt like I already knew them both, and we were able to get right down to business.
Andy already had the truck freshly washed while I was driving down, and parked right at the front door ready for a test drive. The truck was better than it looked in the pictures, had all the options I was looking for, and the test drive was great.
Upon completing the test drive, It was time to come to terms on the cost of the vehicle, extended warranty, financing rates and trade in terms for the Escalade I was trading in.
I explained to Andy in advance that I have great experience in car purchasing, as my family works in the business in another area of the country. Andy assured me he understood, he would go to bat for me, and there wouldn’t be any games. It was as if he was an advocate for his customer from the beginning.
After Andy spoke with his manager, he came back with the right deal, THE FIRST TIME!!! No exhausting back and forth games with managers. He listened to what I needed, and made it happen fast without any push back. I was able to get a fair price on my trade, a great warranty on the truck, and great price on the vehicle itself plus some rebates.
I WAS THRILLED WITH THE OVERALL PACKAGE!!!
Next, I moved to working with Doug in the finance department. He knew I was savvy with loans, and again didn’t play any games trying to get me into a high interest rate where the dealership makes extra money. Doug worked very hard with me to explore multiple financing avenues and was able to get me a great rate. Again, I was thrilled.
I must note, not only did everyone treat me with respect, they were all so friendly along they way. Truly accommodating and pleasant.
I left as happy as could be. 3 weeks later, I realized I was missing a package I thought came standard from Ford Motor Company, and realized it was not. I was so bummed that I had missed out on a package I had really wanted.
I contacted Andy to let him know, and he immediately went to work with the owner of the dealership. I was sure, that after already they had already made the sale to me, there was no way they were going to be able to help. Boy was I wrong!
Andy called me back, and after working with the Owner directly, they were able to offer me that package at and extremely fair rate. They did all this just to ensure they kept a past customer happy. They did not have to at all!!! It was my miscommunication that lead to my disappointment.
I believe true test of a company, is when they go above and beyond when they don’t have to. They truly just wanted to deliver a great customer experience, and they did in every single way for me.
Hopefully, by writing this review, some readers will give Andy and Encinitas Ford a visit, saving themselves the trouble, and make their next car buying experience as stellar as mine.

Well, I bought a used, low mile F150 from Encinitas Ford. I could comment on their sales team, but it was just the stereotypical sales + finance duo. You just have to know YOUR numbers and not accept anything less. They would have gotten me pretty badly had I let them. It’s a shame, but that’s their job.
I should have taken a hint when I asked why this very low mileage truck wasn’t certified. Because as soon as I drove it home 45 minutes down the highway, I started hearing a loud buzzing. I continued to drive it, getting far less than EPA estimated economy, and started hearing clunks while going over bumps. Both sounds coming from the front left. Also, at highway speeds, the truck shook violently.
I made an appt, for that week, and brought it in. Turns out, it takes all day to balance wheels and tires. I didn’t know this. Coming from a HUGE family of car and truck enthusiasts, I personally have balanced wheels and tires on 60 – 90 minutes. Maybe the air is different in Encinitas. I digress. I come back a week later (2 weeks after purchasing the truck) and have a Bedliner installed. That takes a half a day. The next day I had an appt again for the suspension. I pull into the same spot I did before. Martin greeted me, said they couldn’t take my truck. It was a used truck and was to be fixed by another company on a day they were open. This day was Saturday. I told him, the appt was made for today. Also, he said it’s a $ 100 deductible trough my insurance? I told him the salesman said they would take care of it since I just bought it. He said there’s no warranty for it? Idk I just tuned him out at this point and wasn’t accepting anything other than what was promised to me by sales. But, I didn’t have a due bill from sales, the salesman didn’t supply me with that. Apparently, people don’t know what they’re doing up there. I fought with them for a while and finally they decided to look at my truck. Here’s the damage.
The tires and wheels were 2oz out of balance. Very significant for 20″ wheels and tires.
The front left bearing is bad. They need to keep the truck and wait to get a beating from LA on Tuesday?
They had no rental car for me, no loaner, and were even contemplating putting the truck back together and sending me home. I don’t know if they know this, but if I drive on the highway, and my truck starts to shake again and that bearing goes out, and I kill someone, they could have been held liable. I needed to remind them of this and they «miraculously found a car for me.»
So now I’m waiting for the truck to be fixed. And I will update this review as time goes on. Currently, not very happy your establishment would sell a vehicle with tires needing balanced, wheel bearings failing, and who knows what else you didn’t look at, on a 27,000 mile truck. And it took a lot of me fighting for them to do the right thing. As I said, I will update this rating as necessary. I hope the people of Encinitas ford see this and take care of what they do to my things. Updates coming soon.

I was in there 2 weeks ago with my boyfriend, Andy H. started helping Adrian (boyfriend) and made sure that he was well taking care of and that any and every deal was seen before we made a choice, the day we took the deal, i came in on saturday and was more than satisfied with the help and thew comfort that they showed my family. we had the 2016 ford for 2 weeks and we are more than satisfied with the purchase that we have made, i will be trading in my car next when its time and will be coming to see you all! We also worked with Maryann M. and was more than pleased with how she made sure that Andy knew what he was doing and also wanted to make sure that she answered every question for us. I love Encinitas Ford! I have purchased or leased 6 cars over the passed 15 years. Mark Wheeler the GM is very professional and extremely fair. Mary Ann so nice, ready to help me in anything I need, she definately personalizes your car buying experience. Lacey makes you feel comfortable immediately, very knowledgeable about forms, financing, etc. Drew my sales guy was so easy going and helpful. He was extremely patient with my 3 year old grandson, Drew really needed to be creative to get my grandson to do what we wanted, haaha.
Everyone was so sweet and helpful, from getting coloring books for my grandson to giving me a ride home, after I brought in my trade-​in. Mark and his crew give a family warmth to the entire car buying experience.

I was interested in the value of my truck and submitted an online blind trade in offer knowing that it would get sent out to multiple dealerships. I put my house phone number down and gave specific instructions to email me for any correspondence.
Well not even 2min later my wife texted that Encinitas ford called and she gave them my cell number. They then called me and the lady was rude as all get out and lied to me in our very short conversation. She took offense to me letting her know that I would prefer to work through email cause I’m working.
She finally asked at the end if was interested in working with them and that was an easy question.
I’m pretty sure she hung up on me so I called back to ask the name of the dept that handle internet sales or commercial sales.
Her name is Koren. Despite our second conversation which was much better I would still not deal with this dealership on any level.
If a customer is essentially signs your paycheck and they ask you to do something within reason then you should at least try.
Karen or Koren (however it is spelled) needs work with blind sales calls. Sales is not easy in the least but if you take offense to the simplest of questions or comments you seem like a pretentious, have a sense of entitlement, and are very judgmental. Not to mention take information as a personal attack.
3 hours later when I called to get her name she still doesn’t think that she had any contribution to the reason I would not do business with them.

I have a 3 year old Ford Escape with around 32k miles that I took here for and oil change and to check on a suspicious noise in the front right wheel area. It’s been FIVE WEEKS as of today and they still have my car and no updates other than «we don’t know what’s wrong yet». They gave me a Ford Focus after the first week (I showed up at the dealership unannounced and asked for my car back). Since then, we have heard from our contact maybe two or three times, all from us calling him. I’ve also called a few times and apparently zero other people can help out so you basically always have to leave a message.
Update: after six weeks I got my car back, unfixed. They did offer another diagnosis and did not charge me for the first attempted fix. Due to the length of time it took to get a diagnosis and difficulty of reaching someone to speak with when you call, I am sticking with two starts (updated from 1 star previously). I do appreciate the comp on the attempted fix that didn’t work.
