Speech therapy, Educational therapy, Non Public School, serving ages 6 through adult. We specialize in Auditory Processing Disorders, Dyslexia, Articulation, tongue thrust, Accent reduction, and provide full or part-​time curriculum for Non Public School, homeschool or specific courses.

Warm, friendly environment, we treat the whole person including psycho-​social challenges. Our clients are ready to participate in the least restrictive environment after treatment with us. We teach people to be independent in academics and to process information more efficiently.

History

Established in 1997.

Lynda Detweiler, owner and Director, grew disillusioned with the public schools where she was working. Caseloads were so large, she couldn’t fulfill all the minutes she agreed to on student’s IEP’s. So she offered families a chance to work free of charge for the summer to make up for the time that was lost during the school year, and a lot of families took her up on the offer. That was the beginning of Encinitas Learning Center and now also a Non Public School. She has a robust practice that has produced many successful outcomes, persons realizing their academic and career goals today as a result of the intensive work done at ELC & A. Meet the Business Owner

Lynda D.

Business Owner

Lynda is a Speech Pathologist for over 35 years. She has worked in schools treating all ages from pre-​school through college, in hospitals both acute care and convalescent, and now in private practice as well as heading a Non Public Agency and School site.

She felt there was a need for options to what Public Schools were offering students. Computer assisted technology to remediate cognitive challenges was among the many programs she enlisted to get amazing and significant outcomes of treatment.

She was named the Top Provider in 2008 for Scientific Learning Corp.‘s programs, works closely with UCSD’s Temporal Dynamics Lab doing research in the field, and provides students/​Interns with opportunities to study these approaches in a learning laboratory every summer.
