Green Towing

I just spoke to the most unqualified sales rep (operator) I have ever talked to. Just some feed back. That’s all. The person you have on the phone has to be at least nice. Not a smart ass who is blabbing all these figures about who’s who n what is what. Learn how to talk to people and maybe you’ll have better results.

Car wouldn’t crank this morning… there was only once yesterday where I felt the car not showing the usual strength in starting. Overnight, it died. Car was nose in to the garage and there is apparently no way to take new Mercedes out of park into neutral manually. This put an unexpected crimp in our Sunday plans, so I called Green Towing for a jump
They arrived in 35 minutes. The man, Nick, was cordial. But $ 134 for a jump start is ridiculous,

Service was fast but they quoted me on the phone for a battery jump start of $ 45-​$ 85. Actual charge $ 136.60! The guy was there a total of 12 minutes…
I would never use them again. You cannot quote a range of $ 45-​$ 85 and then charge $ 136.60…total bait and switch when you are in a jam and have no choice. I suggest you use any other tow company but Green Towing!

These guys are a rip. they claim to be in your city because they have a po. Box. but are nowhere close. From San Diego. They take payment before even showing up and have outrages prices. Don’t be fooled. These guys suck!!! call a local tow co.

Do not use Green Tow (Encinitas Calif, — Phone (619) 292‑0899 or (619) 292‑0836). If you do, you risk being charged more than they quote you on the phone. Weeks before a car show, I arranged for a flatbed tow that I would need from the Del Mar fairgrounds where the car show was to be held. The tow was for a piece of shop equipment. I gave Green tow the exact dimensions of the equipment and asked them to see if they had a truck for the job. They said that they did have a flatbed to carry the equipment. I made a reservation with Green Tow, and was quoted a price ($ 295 — flat rate). I called at least 3 times at intervals over the weeks before the show, to ensure that the reservation was still in place, and that the price remained at $ 295. I was assured it was and the price was unchanged. I was assured by the Service person at Green Tow (Daniel) that everything was set. I even called Green Tow the Friday before the Sunday when the Tow would be needed, Green to verify everything was still set. I specifically asked, «the driver won’t come out on Sunday afternoon when the show is closing down and jack up the price, will he?» I was told, absolutely not, the price is set in the reservation.
Sunday afternoon when the tow was needed the wrong size flatbed tow truck showed up. I was told that the proper sized truck is available, but that would be $ 400, not the $ 295 quoted. I had no choice at that point, because I needed to get equipment out of the fair grounds as the fairgrounds were closing down.
The next week I called Green tow, and after several days of attempting to get a manager to speak to me, a manager named Nina spoke to me. She said that it was too bad that I was over charged, but Green Town outsourced the job to another company, and Green Tow had no responsibility for the over charge of Green Tow’s subcontractor. She told me I should work it out with the company that Green Tow sent out. I argued that the reservation was made with Green Tow, they confirmed the reservation and the price. Nina would hear nothing of it. She said it was not Green Tow’s issue. She said she «shouldn’t even talk to me about it» and that she «didn’t want to get in the middle of the dispute». She spoke over me and hung up on me. Classic behavior of a dishonest business… rip you off, then distance themselves as though they had no part of the transgression.
I found out after the fact that the truck that performed the tow was an unlicensed business and did not have permits to perform towing service! I was able to negotiate with the company that actually performed the tow to return $ 105 (probably because they wanted to keep their reputation, and because I took pictures of the truck performing the tow). They will remain unnamed.
You can use Green Tow, but know that they will give you a quote and then send out any company or any one with a truck, and the price can be vastly different that the price green tow quotes. If the price does get jacked up, they will tell you it is YOUR problem. Green Tow is not to be trusted! Good luck!

Call others and compare the price and you will come to the same conclusion.
