I’ve been coming here for 15 years. Emily is my favorite stylist. But, the other’s do a very good job also. They are highly skilled and know how to communicate.

First thing to note: the name has changed to HS Salon. They’re trying to distinguish themselves from Supercuts and other walk-​in haircutters, thus the somewhat higher class name, and recommendation to make an appointment, though walk-​ins are also welcome. There are more reviews under HS Salon, but I though I would post here and let you know.
I’m a guy and I just had my hair cut for the first time at this location by Envy. It looks great. It took longer than the expected half hour, but she took the time, which I really appreciated. No question about it, she knows what she’s doing. And Nicole at the front desk is a sweetie. I’m glad I came here. Now go look up ‘HS Salon’ in Encinitas.

I’ve been coming back to the haircut store for about 2 years now, and I enjoy it more every time. All of the people who work there are very friendly and now that I’ve been a regular for a while, recognize me and make me feel even more welcome. It’s nice. What is also nice is I feel fortunate that I can trust *two* stylists here with my hair, not just one.
I appreciate the added touch of an offer of something to drink when I get my hair colored. Not to mention the awesome scalp massage given when you have a shampoo.
I’ve never had a bad experience, and always leave feeling and looking good.
Tip: If you want an appointment with Diana or Megan, call well in advance — they are both great, so they have a good client base and it can be tough to get in (especially for a color) on short notice.

I’ve been going here for the last two or so years and I’ve always liked it. I’ve never had a bad haircut (I’d go back to get it fixed if I did) but it can be a little hit-​and-​miss in that some cuts are better than others (as ‘Junk’ stated). If you want the same cut each time, pick a stylist you like and have that person cut your hair each time. I’m too lazy to plan ahead like that and just drop in when I realize my hair looks bad. The shampoo/​conditioning is included with the cut which is a plus for me.

There are a lot of things you can do to yourself that are a lot better if someone else does them for you. Case in point: shampooing. I try to do this daily at home, and it’s not that cool. But when the nice ladies at the Haircut Store do it for me, it’s a spectacularly sensual wonderful day. The haircuts can be just a little hit-​and-​miss (though mostly hit) depending on who the haircutter is, but I’ve ended up with really good results on the whole. Gotta love the attention to detail that you don’t get at a similarly priced chain store. Worth a visit.
