iTAN Sun Spray Spa – Encinitas

I highly recommend coming to iTan Encinitas. Been a member for 4+ years using the spa services daily. The girls there treat you like family. Noël, Sara and Amber work there almost every day, and when I come in to use the spa services/​mystic, they welcome me with a smile, ask how my day is and always make my experience enjoyable. They always go over the top making you feel like you’re the most important customer there… And they do this to everyone. I recommend using the hydration station and getting a light mystic with enhancer and scent for the ultimate weekly glow!

I walked in with no expectations two weeks ago. Noël and Winnie greeted me and were down-​to-​earth, friendly and spent time with me. I had no where to go, wanted a tan and wanted to hear what they had to offer me. I learned about the services available and purchased an unlimited monthly tanning package which suited my needs. The Matrix High Pressure bed has been awesome so far. My experience left me feeling more like a new friend than a customer when I left that day.
If you are willing to spend some time with the staff and be patient and allow them to do their thing, they have an opportunity to do the same for you. You don’t have to feel like a product on an assembly line, visit this location and you can be treated like an individual and a human being. Sometimes… it is all about the people that smile and greet you at the door. And the staff here are amazing! Thank you again Noël & Winnie.
Also the facilities are very clean.

Inexperienced as I was with the tanning community, my time at ITan was heavily influenced by advice from the employees. I would recommend this place to my friends and would high recommend Noël for advice. She is a skin expert!

I had a wonderful experience at Itan and will absolutely be returning. Claire helped me out by setting me up with the perfect bed and was very knowledgable about product and all of the services and benefits Itan offers.

Not sure how to give zero stars but this place provided horrible customer service. I walked in nobody was in front of me and the new girl helped all the people behind me because it was my first time and she didn’t know what to do. Completely humiliating experience I was planning on being a regular customer and I will never go back there and I’m also going to tell my daughter not to ever go back

My birthday is next week and usually, I get an email from Itan letting me know that I get a free mystic to celebrate. I drove to the La Costa location 6 days before my birthday to tell them that I didn’t receive the email, however, I was leaving town for Palm Springs the next day to celebrate my 30^th and wanted more color before I left. The girl at the front told me that «Unfortunately, unless you have the email, we cannot honor your free mystic tan. I asked if she could call her manager to see if they would make an exception being that I was leaving town. She called her manager and came back to tell me that they wouldn’t be able to provide me with the free tan, however, I could buy a discounted package. I declined and left that location. Later that evening, I called the Encinitas location to see if my not having the email would be an issue. Ivy answered the phone. I told her my situation and she immediately, she responded with «Absolutely, no problem. I have the code here. Your birthday is less than a week away.» Ivy’s customer service was outstanding. I always have a pleasant experience at the Encinitas location. All the girls are friendly. Sadly, I don’t receive the same service at La Costa. It has been that way for years.
To the owner — Please acknowledge Ivy for her warm and inviting demeanor. She made me feel special and turned the start to my birthday weekend into a great one. :)

The best itan I have ever been to! Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Very clean! Ivey signed me up and was super efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable! Thanx itan Encinitas for all you do and what you represent!

Well… Prior to coming in I called to discuss their product to make sure it would be a right pick for me. The girl on the phone seemed to have a lot of attitude which was confirmed once I arrived, not only was I not greeted I was given a rude look while interrupting her chat (Alex) is her name. followed by rolled eyes she looked at me, I followed by telling her that I had called earlier about setting up a membership, she responded by saying she gets plenty of calls, and she didn’t remember me.
Okay, I understand that, but to blatantly tell me that makes me feel like I’m neither wanted or needed.
Second mistake was staying there to get a little bit more info on the place, i went against my better judgement, she kept discussing her marital issues with another co worker in between our discussion. I mean come on? Just lay out your laundry to the whole public?
I told her I would come back when she had more time, and she grunted. Ru kidding me?
You have lost a potential client for being rude, impatient, and completely ignoring and offending a customer. Not only the loss of a customer, but of a fellow business owner that would help promote your business.
I think management should look into their employees attitudes.

Like other people have mentioned before their customer service here is not the best. Girls are very hard to talk to and when they do talk its nothing but pushing sales on you and not answering your questions. They have that tone in their voice like you are wasting their time. Instead of trying to make the customer happy and keeping them they’d rather make them upset and have them never come back.

One of the best salons in town ! Remodeled, every bed you can think of, Versa tan, and great customer service.

I go to Itan for spa services.
So, am rating them accordingly.
They have the beauty angel, which is a big plus (thus, even despite some of my complaints they get a 4!) !
They also give 2 bottles of water to you before your session for the fitwrap.
The employees are cordial.
The place seems pretty clean except for on my last visit, I forgot my flip flops. Just walking from the fit wrap room to the beauty angel, my feet were so dirty! Really grossed me out! Otherwise, I would have given them a 5.
Parking is sometimes hard if the restaurants are busy.
They need cable. I couldn’t get their DVD player to work & it’s not easy to get up during a session, lol.
Although they had an iPad.

Love Love Love iTan! I go every Monday for my mystic. The girls are always so sweet and welcoming. They remember my name every time. & my tan is always beautiful! Some places I been to the spray is uneven and doesn’t last but I can always count on iTan for some synthetic fun in the sun ;D

Everytime I come in is a great experience. Most other tanning salons I have gone to in the past are not as welcoming as Itan (Encinitas). When I walk in I am greeted by first name! I feel like the ladies there genuinely care about my day, work, etc. Everything is very clean and organized. Alicia, the manager, has always been very helpful in finding a tanning lotion fit for my needs. I have fair skin and she always makes sure I am using a lotion that will keep me from burning! (My last salon never reccomended lotion and I would always leave BURNT!)
I highly reccomend this location and won’t ever go to another salon. If you are looking for great customer service, a CLEAN bed, and good prices– come here!

This is by far the best tanning place I have ever been too and trust me, I’ve tried many! The girls are always super positive, sweet, and upbeat. They are such great employees! Especially Avery, she always helps get the look I want. Whether it’s from the body wraps, teeth whitening, or tanning! I absolutely love the way my tans look! I would suggest both the beds and spray :) The prices are really good and the results are great!

Unfortunately their customer service has been very disappointing. They still have a chance to make it right but so far have dropped the ball…
So far it seems they would rather keep a minuscule charge as opposed to quality and integral customer service…
I hope I don’t have to report them to the Better Business Bureau…

This place in Encinitas is a decent tanning spot.
The beds are always clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable. (think packages). I tend to only tan in the winter months due to working a lot of graveyard hours and not seeing too much sunlight. I feel more energized and normal after coming here.

Super happy with my mystic tans at iTan. Natural color and last 5 days!

I’ve been an iTan Sun/​Spray/​Spa iClub member for almost a year, and Encinitas is my absolute favorite location! The staff are always super friendly, and suggesting things may help with my tan, spa, or spray experience.
I have personally never experienced an overly salesman approach from the staff here, just the other night I told the girl working that I needed a new lotion, because I didn’t like how greasy the lotion I currently was using felt on my skin. She literally spent 15 minutes with me going over all of the different lotions so that I could find the one that I liked and worked best for what I needed.
I think the service here is amazing, and would definitely recommend anyone looking for a tanning salon in the area coming here.

I love itan, as far as sales driven tanning salons go (are there even any other kind anymore?) I especially like how they let me change my plan around based on whats going on in my life.
I frequent the Encinitas location and the one in Oceanide, the staff at both are friendly and adorable-​although the Encinitas location has more options on the spa side of things and more booths in general.
I DO wish they would take appointments for the level 5 beds and mystics at least. They wait on both is so long if you walk in during peak times-​although it is super nice of them to provide robes so a gal cant dash between the two while making herself into a California cocktail!

The staff here is so friendly and nice. They are so quick to get you into your bed and always have clean ones available.
The price is good and they have many different options.
They have 5 different level tanning beds and many more spa like amenities. Be sure to check this place out!!!
