When I first saw Dr Kaplan, I would have given him 5 stars. However, over the course of my treatment with him I feel that he brushed me off and spent very little time with me (sometimes only 2 – 5 minutes per apt)! Another thing I did not like is that every other visit you have to see Vicki, his NP; month 1 you see him, month 2 you see Vickie, month 3 you see him, month 4 you see Vickie, etc. Finally, my last complaint is that instead of doing things himself, I found that he referred me out to other providers. If I want that sort of treatment, I can just see my primary care doctor who is perfectly intelligent and able to do everything Kaplan does, IMO.

Dr. Kaplan is the perfect combination of highly qualified specialist and
humorous, compassionate counselor. He combines the «street smarts»
and directness of his New York background with his training at the
Yale Medical School and subsequent work with the then path-​breaking
group of Rheumatologists at the University of Kentucky.
As I say: a perfect combination, with an excellent staff.

Dr. Kaplan is the best Rheumatoid Doctor out there. He spends as much time with you as you need him to. He is very thorough and asks more like an Integrative Medicine Doctor than a Rheumatologist. He has a kind soul and warm demeanor. I would recommend him to anyone!
