Dr. Monahan is a specialist in spinal and other musculoskeletal disorders. He is expertly trained to diagnose and treat the many musculoskeletal injuries that may occur on the job or in your daily life.

With injury, the individual often alters the normal position or flexibility of the spinal vertebrae. Chiropractic treatment is designed to restore normal function and thus minimize pain and suffering. Gentile manipulative therapy or «adjustment» is often effective in rapidly returning the injured person to the routines of their life.

Dr. Monahan can also provide guidance to reduce reoccurance of injuries, proper lifting procedures and therapeutic stretching exercises.

All patients are instructed in rehabilitation techniques to strengthen the injured area.

Specialized treatment for sports injuries can include: ultrasound, muscle stimulation and Kinesio-​taping for support

History

Established in 1988.

Dr. Michael Monahan has been successfully treating many patients of our North County Coastal area for 24 years now. He began in the La Costa area and is now practicing in Encinitas.

Business Owner

Dr. Monahan is a native of Southern California and has lived in North County with his wife and 6 children for 24 years.

Dr. Monahan: completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree with honors in 1986. He teaches Anatomy and Physiology at Palomar College since 1997 which keeps him on the cutting-​edge of advances in muscle, bone and joint disorders. Dr. Monahan has earned numerous awards and honors.

Dr. Monahan’s successful practice has allowed him to treat a variety of conditions. He prides himself on considering each patient as an individual with special needs and seeks to address those needs with one-​on-​one attention.
