Our mission at Olivenhain Country Preschool is to provide your child with a safe, loving, nurturing environment for them to acquire proper skills and values to prepare them for their future.

Our beautiful 2 acres location gives a unique appreciation of nature to the children. A peaceful surrounding is offered to the children away from the city noise.

History

Established in 1996.

It is our belief and understanding that children need a balance of academics and arts. We have studied Beverly Boss’ theory of learning and integrated some of her thoughts on kinesthetic and tactile experiences for the young child. We feel that a child will retain more of the knowledge he is given at a young age, if it is presented through many mediums, including cooking, the arts, drama and expression, rhythm and movement, and even gardening. Our teachers provide a classroom environment which enables each child to express themselves at each stage of their development. Our daily activities include a variety of learning tools and enrichment’s for your child gain interest in learning as well as using their imagination. Our monthly curriculum’s take the child through a world geared to his level.

I come from a large family (13 of us) and when I was a child, I can remember playing, reading, and imagining all day long. I have wonderfully fond memories of my childhood – tree houses, forts, bicycles, swings, fruit trees, pets of all kinds, traditions, friends and family – that I would like to give others the opportunity to make of their own. Luckily I have found a career that allows me to do just that.

When I was younger, I can remember always saying I wanted to be a First Grade Teacher and that was my goal: but then I discovered Preschool and I was sold! I was fascinated by the idea of teaching through play, learning through doing and watching the children as they reached the many milestones of their young lives. I have had the joy of working with children in some capacity or another for over 20 years, where I sometimes think that the children have taught me more than I have taught them. I am looking forward to at least 20 more wonderful years full of excitement, wonder and ma
