Prestige Nails

I went in for a nail fix and ended up coming back over and over. Lynn is amazing. She always does a great job on my nails and il hard on them. I’m in and out within ½ from when she starts on my fills.

Run for the hills. I visited Prestige on a Sunday because my regular salon is always closed on that day. I went in for a gel manni and pedi. They both look nice and two weeks later they are still in good condition.
The reason why I will never go back is cleanliness.
I was in the middle of a gel fill and this woman walks in and has a single cracked nail. The woman who is doing my nails calls her over, starts using the brush she is doing my nails with and fixes the ladies one nail, and then comes back to me with the same brush and continues the gel fill. WTF!!! That is disgusting and how you spread fungus. Not to mention this all went down during my appointment. I waited 20 minutes to start my services because they were busy, and honestly so should have the woman for another worker to be free.

This is the second time I have gone here. I thought I would give them a second chance. They are short on staff so I keep getting this same girl-​dark hair w/​bangs & bright lip stick. She half-​asses each of her jobs! She tugs and does a cheap job. This is the second time she has done this. Messy and sloppy. Pretty disappointed
Also– their card machine wasn’t working. So they Made my my mother and I drive to a bank to pay them, pay a processing fee, and Come back. So annoying!

This salon is such a cute little nail spa that has an ocean theme. Mindy is amazing for pedicures, she gave me the best massage I’ve ever had. I recommend the On Sen Hot Spring pedicure, so relaxing and includes a lot for the price. I am now back for this awesome treat!

I attended a wedding in San Marcos this wknd and got a mani/​pedi before the event. I usually choose merchants based on Unilocal reviews but had no chance this time as I was unfamiliar to the area (visiting from the Bay Area). I was greeted as soon as I walked in by ‘what you like?’ When I responded gel manicure and pedicure, I was ordered and rushed to choose a color for my toenails. No more than 2 minutes was I whisked to the spa chair in the back, not having the chance to pick a color.
When I was given the wheel of colors to choose from for gel manicure, I found a shade I also wanted for my toes on the pinwheel as well, and asked if they could find a shade remotely close to it. The gal who wrkd on my feet was sarcastic and cynical w me as if I didn’t know the difference btwn regular nail polish and gel. Not quite sure what her hang up was w me when I told her that I was also allergic to wheatgerm and that I needed to read the ingredients in the products before applying it to my legs and feet. She was not a happy camper; more wrk for her I guess!
The other gal who simultaneously workied on my finger nails was rough as can be, pulling and tugging away at my hang nails and cuticle w her instrument. (My apologies for having jacked up cuticles, as my nursing profession calls for frequent hand washing, a standard universal precaution w patient care).
The job overall was sloppy and rushed. My finger nails looked messy and cheaply done. My pedicure on the other hand looked pretty decent despite that one’s attitude. Lesson learned: go to Unilocal for reviews no matter what! It’s the worth the time, energy and customer satisfaction in the end.

This review is for Hayley! I always ask for her to do my acrylics because she gets the perfect shape and makes them look as natural as acrylics can look. I’ve had different experiences with different technicians, but Hayley is consistently good. I’ve never had any issues with fungus or anything like that– it seems like they’ve been improving or at least trying to. Prices are decent too.

Came in on a whim with a large group of girls and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean and comfortable and we were all happy with our services. Yen did a wonderful job on my feet! The foot/​leg massage was awesome!!!

I always come here to get a gel manicure. They have a great color selection! I recommend making appointments on weekends because they do get busy. The store is slowly upgrading, I noticed that they have new chairs and also provide snacks and water bottles now.

I went in the other day (Thursday) to get a medi and pedi. I was fully satisfied with my acrylic nails with gels. They remind me of flowers♥ My pedi on the other hand, not too satisfied. Maybe next time they’ll do a better job. We’ll see.

I got my acrylic nails here and they were really nice. The second time around one of my fingers was killing me a week later. I took the nail off and it had a green fungus under my real nail.

I had what can only be described as a queasy experience here. The man that did my gel mani was nice enough but he had slammed his hand in the door and had a repulsive decaying black nail with another nail growing underneath it. He didn’t try to cover it or explain it and my stomach was turning over every time he touched me. I was concerned it was fungus so I finally had the courage to ask him what happened. He probably should cover it up or at least offer an explanation up front. He was so right when he did the arm massage I almost got pulled off my chair, literally, I had one hand holding on to the desk so I didn’t fly forward. Finally and most disturbing was that they are not disinfecting their tools, they immediately put them into a pencil box after they were finished with them. The jars of hydrogen peroxide on the desks are just for show, they are all empty.

Not only did I realize this place is very grungy and unsanitary, but I stood at the door waiting for someone to acknowledge me for 5 minutes. A lady finally came to the front and told me to come back «some other time» because they «don’t have anybody to do nails this morning». She tells me this as I watch two workers eating in the back of the store. ZERO STARS!

This is my 4^th time here for a pedi. I haven’t had a bad experience yet. Prices are reasonable, people are friendly, and chairs are comfy. I have been to other places in Solana Beach (where I live) and they are over priced and hurry you out. One place I tried in Encinitas actually cut my toe with the scrubber. No complaints w Prestige.

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY UNSANITARY! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, UNLESS YOU WANT PARONYCHIA !!! If you don’t know what that is — google it. I am currently taking oral antibiotics to treat this infection. That should be enough for you to not want to get your mani/​pedi here. Came here for convenience, never again… I can suggest a MUCH CLEANER PLACE. Try color nails in la costa! Would give this place ZERO STARS IF I COULD.

My hubby and I come here for our pedi’s. Good selection of services, we get the Euro. Nail trim, Foot scrub, herbal lotions/​moisturizer, seaweed cooling scrub, foot and calf massage —45 minutes later — feet feel much better! Their technicians are friendly, nice and meticulous. My polish usually lasts for 3 weeks. Massage chairs for more relaxation too. Good prices, we never have an appointment on the weekends, but they usually can accommodate within 5 – 10 minutes. Their décor could use a bit of a makeover, paint on walls are scuffed, but cosmetic only.

Pedicure good– manicure sucked and started flaking off in chunks THE NEXT DAY– and when I complained they gave me attitude and wouldn’t make it right.

This place does the bare minimum to pass as a nail salon. While I am satisfied with my nails, I’m pretty dissatisfied with just about everything else. They do nothing to make your experience comfortable, relaxing, or even enjoyable.
The people who work here are pretty rude. I went in to get a set of acrylic stiletto nails (claw nails, you might call them). While I know it’s not really an average request, the nail technicians seemed to go out of their way to gawk at my nails. Every five minutes someone would walk by, stop and stare at my nails for a few minutes, while talking with the girl who was doing my nails and laughing. After about 10 minutes it got incredibly irritating.
Though they close at 7:00, by 6:40 all the employees were standing around me with their jackets on and purses in hand, and had turned off all the lights in the store except the one directly above me, effectively kicking me out with wet nails. Also, as others have mentioned, they don’t allow tips on credit cards. When I told them I didn’t have any cash, I was told that I could leave a tip on my credit card this time, but next time I «have to bring cash». Fortunately, there won’t be a next time.
Seriously, there are a million nail salons in Encinitas. Go somewhere else.

This place sucks!
I went here since it was super close to my job and the reviews weren’t ALL bad. The point was it was SUPPOSED to be quick and easy.
I walked into the salon and none of the workers looked up from what they were doing. As I approached I said «hello… I just need a fill…» and one lady quickly snapped, «yes, yes, five minutes can you wait.??» I shook my head yes, sat down and began reading some magazines. I was just getting into all the juicy gossip when, I realized I had been sitting there for 20 minutes. I looked up, noticed they were still working, and continued to read, a bit irritated. 15 more minutes went on, so finally I stood up, and began walking out the door. They didn’t seem to care that I left. next time I’ll go somewhere we they actually want my business.
FAIL :(

I dropped in for a leg wax and got tag teamed by two of your girls that were BLIND. So, the THIRD time that I pointed out the black strip of hair on my leg that you missed, did you not think that I meant serious business?
