Same great Pizza, same great restaurant and same Owner for over 40 years! We have been the pizza place in Encinitas with a great, experienced crew, and great food. Whether it’s a team party, school event, pre-​school tour, or any other chance to get together, RT has always gone to extremes to make it great for you. The Last Honest Pizza stands for quality. Our dough is rolled fresh and made from wheat grown on family farms. We take pride in our whole-​milk mozzarella, aged cheddar cheeses, and smoked provolone.

History

Established in 1959.

At Round Table, we’ve enjoyed a heritage of creating high quality, innovative pizzas since the establishment of our founder Bill Larson’s first Round Table pizza parlor in Menlo Park, California in 1959.

We moved to Encinitas in 1974 to build the Round Table and opened it in March of 1975. The original furniture came from our garage in Village Park.

Our kids, Robert & Amy grew up here attending Park Dale Lane, Flora Vista, Oak Crest, and San Dieguito High. Now they live here with our 6 grandkids. We have loved living and growing with Encinitas over the years.

Since we don’t live too close to Round Table, we come here when we want a pizza that is a little different. I love the thin yeasty crust and the generous amount of toppings we get on the pizzas here. The pepperoni’s here belong on my Pizza Topping Hall of Fame: crispy and salty, with just a little spicy kick.
As mentioned in another post: not much has changed here in the past 30 years, but that’s ok with me. I appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the friendliness of the staff.

Went for the lunch buffet today. It was $ 10.79 for the buffet and a drink. I haven’t had the lunch buffet for months and this time around it was still amazing. I had two plates of salad and probably about the 16 slices of spuds. The pizza was so good! I forgot how good pizza was from round table until today. The service was amazing because my friend is a vegetarian and they specifically cooked a cheese pizza for her. Overall, i will definitely be back for the pizza, and lunch buffet

I’m not even sure that I want to give them one star. The pizza is always good but the service always sucks. My girlfriend and I stopped in Sunday for lunch and the bathrooms, both of them smelled like a Porta potty! Clean your facility dirtbags!

the pizza and the service are very good. And what is REALLY GREAT is that on Thursday evenings, starting around six-​thirty, they have blue grass music. Players come in and start and it is really well done, even though it’s more or less pick-​up picking. We have not seen anywhere like this locally, it is a real treat.
And the wine selection is good.

Ordered online, easy. Roundtable called me 15 minutes later to confirm what I requested on one pizza, great! Delivery didn’t show up after 45 minutes, so we called to see what’s up. They said they couldn’t «find» our order in their system. Odd, since someone called ME to confirm the order. Finally after arguing that we really did place an order and they needed to figure it out on their side, the woman finally found it. She said the driver was on his way. So, over one hour later we get our pizza delivered… and with a $ 4 delivery charge that was never mentioned! Wow, sorry — not going to consider Round Table for future business. In the end, pizza isn’t that good anyway– the cheese pizza we ordered tasted like a Costco pie. The veggie pie was tasty but nothing exceptional.

I love pizza and I can say wholeheartedly this place has the very best pizza! Lots of sauce, the right amount of cheese, tasty pepperoni and ham. Yes, the décor is dated but to me it’s a charming place. This place is just classic and I’m happy it hasn’t changed much over the yrs.

Love the pizza but the manager Rod at this location is a dick. Called in about my order and he was rude — couldn’t care less. I’ve been coming to Round Table for 20 years and WOW I think this was the worst service.

I’ll start out by saying the pizza is still decent… but you should have it delivered.
The place hasn’t been remodeled FOREVER and it’s dirty and smells like carpet that’s soaked with disgusting layer upon layer. Yes you can let your kids run free… so free they can play handball in the dining area by the bathrooms while you eat. I have kids but that’s ridiculous.
Owner doesn’t care since he’s still making money and his employees (most) follow suit. Tables go unbussed etc…
There are other newer, better, cheaper places to eat! Sorry :(

First off, this place is a mess! The floors are disgusting! We placed an order for 2 small pizzas and 2 personal pizzas. We were told it would be 30 minutes. Half the good came 45 minutes later and half came an hour later! There were several customers with the same complaints. I won’t be coming back here.

Update… came here with my girlfriend and kids.
Management doesn’t seem to care. forgot my pitcher of beer… tables were gross. Salad bar was gross… flies and super messy .
Bathrooms were disgusting ?! Good pizza… although for $ 40 I would hope so .I won’t be back.

What can I say about RTP? It hasn’t changed in over 30 yrs? Yep, I can say that. Their pizza is ok… better than Shakeys? Yep, just said that. It’s no Pizza Port or Bronx Pizza, but that’s ok.
Their salad bar is pretty decent too? Ok, done and said. Their blue cheese dressing is the one I remember from 30 yrs ago… no, not old, just the same flavor.
My son and I have been a fan of their lunch buffet forever and it hasn’t changed much. I do like their cheesy dough balls… good with the salad. They also have a dessert pizza which is like a coffee cake, not bad.
Even my 1 yr old grandson liked it. Can’t beat filling your belly for only $ 6.99!

Terrible customer service. Called to place a to go order, put on hold for over ten minutes. I hung up and called back, a very, very rude woman answered the phone after ten rings and told me I had to wait on hold again and at the «end of the line». That’s just rotten customer service. I’ve been a customer for years, but I will NOT be a customer again.

I have never tasted a better vegetarian pizza then the one they have at round table. The encintas branch was no exception. It was clean and the food was served fast. It is a fun place for kids with the games. And if you have a sports nut in tow they will be in heaven.

Pizza is pretty good. Generally prefer to pick up and take home. Tried delivery the other night and everything arrived fine.
Dining in can be noisy with television, juke box, and video arcade, but gives kids options. Could do better on keeping tables clean. This location would score higher if people at cash register (order takers) were more appreciative of customers and improved generally unpleasant attitudes.
Good for groups with semi-​private areas and I believe they will take reservations for teams, etc.
