San Diego Fertility Acupuncture

I went to San Diego Fertility Acupuncture after my husband and I were having fertility challenges, and in just two visits (one treatment per month) we were pregnant after almost 2 years of trying! In addition to the acupuncture treatments Jessica is also an invaluable resource with regard to diet, nutrition, and additional supplements that enhance fertility. Note that I had to wait around 2 months to get on the calendar for my first appointment, but it was well worth the wait as I’m convinced we wouldn’t be where we are now without Jessica’s advice and guidance. Would highly recommend to anyone trying to get pregnant and/​or wanting to maintain a healthy pregnancy. Thanks Jessica!

Jessica is my angel! I found her on Unilocal and decided to give her a try after being diagnosed with PCOS, on metformin for a year, failed Chlomid treatments, and a miscarriage. I had to wait a little over a month for my first appointment with her but she gave me some guidance over the phone immediately to help with the TTC process. My main issue with conceiving was that I was not ovulating regularly, maybe once or twice a year. During my first visit, she provided me with a meal plan fit for woman with PCOS, encouraged me to cut back on my running (I was running about 40 miles a week) and had me start on fish oil and vitamin D. Additionally, during my first visit with her, I told her of my reoccurring UTIs. I am so grateful I mentioned that to her because she also started me on supplements to help. Between these supplements and acupuncture, my UTIs almost completely went away! I had been going to specialists for years trying to get them under control with no success and she was able to practically cure me!
I started ovulating immediately and within two months, I was pregnant! I am currently 20 weeks and my pregnancy has been smooth so far. I was receiving treatments once a week until my second trimester, now I go once a month. My first trimester was so easy. Besides a bit of fatigue and bloating, I had no real early pregnancy symptoms. I am certain this is because of her :)
She is always encouraging me to reach out to her with any questions I may have. She is quick to respond to my texts and never makes me feel like I am bothering her. Additionally, she is so kind and enthusiastic during my visits. She is always on time too, which I love. If my appointment is at five, I get seen at five. You can tell she truly cares about her patients. I will be forever grateful for her.
I would recommend Jessica to ANYONE who is trying to get pregnant! I plan on going back to her for baby number 2 when that time comes.

Jessica is amazing. I had a lot of sciatic pain, heartburn, and anxiety during my pregnancy. Her treatment was helpful and a source of calm in my life. The most helpful treatments were birth preparation I felt like that led to my (nearly all natural) and successful birth story. My baby boy is super happy and god natured and I do not feel like he would be good natured if it were not for the treatment during pregnancy which helped me stay calm and less stressed! Cannot say enough good things about Jessica!

The most amazing acupuncturist ever. I started going to Jess 5 years ago when my husband and I were struggling to conceive our first child (we had been trying for 2 years). 4 months later my cycles were down from 50 days to 35 days (she suspected that that was the issue) and 2 months after that I was finally pregnant! I went to Jess through my whole pregnancy and after my pregnancy and I am now going to her for my second pregnancy. Any issue I have she is able to work on/​fix. You will not regret going to her, she is awesome!!!

Jessica is not only a joy to visit but she is extremely good at what she does. She figured out my problem, gave me some herbs along with the acupuncture treatment and I got pregnant as soon as I started taking the herbs! I highly recommend her.

I have been going to Jessica for probably about 10 years. Although she is a fertility expert, her obvious specialty is hormones and how to balance them to help any female who suffers from them. I started going to her for stress and was amazed at how much my out of whack hormones brought much of my problems and issues on. Not only has she helped me balance my pms, nightmares, irritability and especially my night sweats, she couldn’t wait to get ahold of my uterus when I finally met the right man and was ready to start a family!!! I had issues at first but as she followed my cycle and its symptoms and tracked it, she found I had an abnormally long cycle, 39 days! She figured I was probably ovulating around day 25 and BAM! I was pregnant! I continued my acupuncture throughout my pregnancy and it was one of the healthiest best times of my life. The only symptom I has was some reflux which she treated. Did I mention I was 40 when I got pregnant? Yes, she is amazing and one of the nicest people you we’ll ever meet, hands down. Very professional and knows her Chinese medicine. On a side note, any time I lapse in my visits, I notice I get sick much more often and see my actual Doctor much more. This is the best preventative medicine you could practice. Her office is tranquil, dim lights, meditative music piped into the rooms and heat lamps on your feet. You won’t regret doing this for yourself. You deserve it!!!
FYI: my health care spending account (fsa) works as payment. She also accepts some insurances.

Jessica has been the best thing that has happened to me. I was told by 5 fertility specialists that I wasn’t able to get pregnant. They said IVF would work and that my only option was an egg donor. I have seen Jessica once a week for almost a year now and my husband and I are expecting our first. Jessica is filled with knowledge and such a positive person. After reviewing my charts she said there was no reason for me not to get pregnant. I am thrilled that I found her as it was worth every penny. Best hour of my week for awhile as I was able to disconnect and not focus on the negative.

Jessica is not only amazing at what she does but she is just a wonderful person in general! When I first started seeing Jessica I was so frustrated with my experience trying to get pregnant. We were having trouble and everyone just kept telling us that there was nothing wrong and to just keep trying. I felt like I needed to be doing something in order to keep my sanity. Right away she helped me change my diet, helped me better understand my cycle, had me tracking my basil body temp and taking some herbs to boost my fertility. After my third early miscarriage (over a year and a half of trying) I called Jessica for help. We were so sad and frustrated. Being told that you have «recurrent pregnancy loss» and «unexplained infertility» is scary because there’s really no clear treatment.
When I called Jessica, she had a 3 month wait to get on her schedule, but over the phone she consulted me on some significant dietary changes to start right away. During those 3 months of waiting, I changed my diet and let my body heal from the last miscarriage.
When I started seeing Jessica for acupuncture sessions, I was so impressed with her knowledge about the process of getting pregnant. She has so much experience with people going through all different kinds of infertility, she lives and breathes this subject. It seemed like someone finally had possible solutions for us. Her instructions on tracking BBT and the timing of trying were far more helpful than anything I’d read, or anything the doctor had told us.
We became pregnant immediately after starting acupuncture with Jessica, and this one «stuck.» I saw her regularly for acupuncture and herbs every week of the first trimester, then every month, then every week again at the end. My pregnancy was perfectly smooth all the way through. I couldn’t believe how easy it was, I always thought pregnancy would be terribly difficult. We also had an amazing natural, unmedicated labor and delivery of our son on 10÷5÷2015. I truly believe that Jessica’s treatments and advice brought us quickly to a successful, pleasant pregnancy and a quick, smooth birth of our son. We feel so incredibly fortunate!

I am originally from France but have lived here for 15 years. Last year during a trip to France and after thorough exams, fertility specialists and ob-​gyn told me that I had very little chance to become a mother, even IVF would be useless, I should probably find an egg donor. I entered 10 months of severe depression, even contemplated hiring a surrogate… Until I found Jessica on Unilocal.Not only she told me that there nothing was wrong with me, but that I was really healthy. After only one month of treatment, I became pregnant… with TWINS!!! I wish I had met her before instead of losing my time feeling sorry for myself.
So please do not give up until you meet Jessica! She is amazingly patient and efficient. I have had no morning sickness so far so everything is looking bright!

Jessica Chainick of San Diego Fertility Acupuncture is a warm, kind, attentive, thorough, knowledgable and experienced professional. I am convinced that my pregnancy experience was so wonderful because of the work that she did with me. While I am sure that my genetic composition had a great deal to do with the fact that I conceived my baby on my first attempt after working with Jessica, that I did not have a single episode of morning sickness during the entire pregnancy, and that I had a relatively quick and manageable labor and delivery experience, I do believe that the acupuncture I received from Jessica contributed considerably to all of this.
Jessica not only helped me prepare my body for baby by prescribing a customized course of treatment that included diet and lifestyle recommendations, but she also tailored each session to accommodate my holistic state. I looked forward to my sessions over the course of my pregnancy. Being part of a large, impersonal HMO sometimes left me feeling lost and full of questions and concerns that were immediately allayed after each session. Jessica would take the time to listen carefully to me and provide comfort no matter what I was facing, as pregnancy can be a challenging journey both physically and emotionally. She went above and beyond her mandate, even making herself available via text and telephone after hours if necessary. I found her treatment to be the perfect complement to the Western medical care I was receiving via my insurance, in fact. I had never tried acupuncture before this experience, but having worked with Jessica and having experienced a smooth pregnancy resulting in a beautiful and healthy baby leave me convinced of the impressive results of acupuncture administered by an experienced and knowledgable practitioner like Jessica; I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I can’t say enough great things about Jessica Chalnick and San Diego Fertility Acupuncture. Becoming one of her patients changed my life, because now I have a beautiful, healthy one-​month-​old baby girl.
Prior to going to Jessica, I had irregular cycles and had been diagnosed with PCOS and put on Clomid, and the Clomid worked to conceive my first pregnancy, which unfortunately ended in a devastating late loss at 21+ weeks. I went back on clomid but did not have success conceiving again during the next several months. A couple of friends had recommended that I try acupuncture for fertility, so I did a google search and saw that Jessica’s practice was located right around the corner from my house in Encinitas. My husband and I decided that I should give acupuncture a shot before moving on to a fertiity specilaist that uses only Western medicine.
Jessica immediately made me feel very comfortable, and it was so nice to have someone perform a full evaluation of my lifestyle, diet, and exercise. I liked that Jessica isn’t extreme about any of the changes she suggested. She also prescribed Chinese herbs.
I went to Jessica weekly for acupuncture and my cycles immediately began to regulate somewhat, and I was ovulating on my own. I became pregnant with my daughter in November 2012 after starting to go to Jessica during the summer. I continued to see Jessica throughout my pregnancy for pregnancy maintenance.
The night before my due date in mid-​August 2012, I saw Jessica for acupunture to try to induce labor. I had had zero early labor signs, but the mornng after my treatment with Jessica, I woke up with contractions, and went on to deliver my daughter at 4:35 pm the next day (my due date).
I would highly recommend that anyone struggling with infertility and/​or miscarriages try acupunture with Jessica, and I would also highly recommend her for labor induction!

Even though Jessica focuses on Fertility Acupuncture, I recently went to her because of some lower back /​buttock /​hip pains that I’ve been having when I was improperly fit for inserts at New Balance.
A friend of mine had great success with her for fertility acupuncture so I called to check if she by chance treated back pain. To my surprise… she did through referrals but her specialty is of course, fertility acupuncture. I was very happy because she came highly recommended.
Unfortunately, her week was booked but she had one available spot for me on Tuesday and I quickly jumped on it. I’m all about alternative medicine these days after a back injury last year and being pumped up on steroids, pain meds, muscle relaxers etc – so I was ready and willing to give Acupuncture a try.
If you’re afraid of needles… you won’t even feel the one’s she uses. With the exception of two, I felt just subtle pinches but it doesn’t hurt at all. Acupuncture was painless and the 20 or so minutes that I laid there, it was so relaxing — my mind literally went blank. And that’s hard for me to do because I’m always going a 100 miles/​hr.
I’m happy to report — within a day, I could totally feel the difference. I went in again for a second treatment yesterday and the pains I were feeling are now completely gone. I’m so relieved!
While I didn’t use her for fertility acupuncture she did an amazing job on my back issues making me very happy that I called her. I’d highly recommend Jessica, she’s a true professional!
This might be TMI for you fellas but for us women that might have awkward cycles like myself, my cycle this month was right on time and lasted longer than usual. Things were happening that usually don’t happen (for the better) and I honestly believe that it’s due to the Acupuncture. I’m a believer!

I’ve gone to several acupuncturists, and two specifically for fertility. I am most impressed with Jessica’s knowledge and skill as an acupuncturist.
She has extensive experience in fertility and I’m using her to support my pregnancy. She addresses symptoms that make pregnancy uncomfortable and I feel that doing this for my pregnancy has made my high risk pregnancy much more stable.
Her knowledge about fertility related resources is also extensive. As for her bedside manner, it’s the best. She is kind, warm and very professional. I highly recommend her, so much so that I would recommend the drive to her location if you are farther away. She’s much better than any other fertility acupuncturist that I have used and/​or heard of.

I called Jessica Chelnick after reading the previous 2 Unilocal reviews. I was pretty honest over the phone that I didn’t know much about this, and didn’t know if I believed in acupuncture at all. She explained how it worked, and said that whether I meditated during a session or played checkers on my phone, I would get the same benefits. I went and met with her and was impressed with her extensive knowledge of fertility as well as acupuncture, in addition to her kind attitude. Needless to say, I went back many many times. Highly recommend her!
(Oh, and I am a total needle-​phob, but it really wasnt bad.)
