Slowest place on earth during lunch time. Drive thru line around the block, and no one taking orders inside. Why bother?

Stopped in to grab a quick bite. It had been raining all afternoon(which it never does in southern California) so the staff was dealing with water pouring out of the ceiling. The manager patiently waited for me to decide what I wanted, when suddenly a ceiling tile fell down onto the counter, bearly missing both of us. I finally placed my order, the manager paused and To My Suprise– said to me, «I THINKYOURDINNERWILLBEONUSTONIGHT». I did not ask for nor expect a discount, let alone a free meal. It was refreshing to see a fast food retailer having enough concern for it’s patron. Sorry to say, I did not get the managers name. Sometimes it pays to get wet. Thanks Taco Bell!

I was the only customer waiting to place an order and no one came to the counter or even acknowledged me. Several people came in after me and we were just all standing there. The people working in the kitchen looked at us a couple times and then just looked away like we were not their problem. No one came at all after about 10 minutes and I walked out without placing an order. This is not the first time I have had this kind of customer service here. The food I have had here in the past is also low quality compared to other locations I have been to. I’m fed up with this location and will never go back.

The food out of this location is always satisfactory, and never had an issue with the employees. However, the drive thru line can take a ridiculously long time. I came to this location to get dinner, and sat in the drive thru for 20 minutes, with two cars in front of me when I arrived. I’ve had this issue at multiple taco bells, and it makes me wonder what they are doing, card games?

For a busy restaurant, this Taco Bell sure is lacking in the review department. I have probably been here 100 times over the past 20 years. They are like an old pair of jeans that just fits. I used to live around the corner with young children and this was our go to spot for fast, inexpensive food for everyone in the family. What a mouthful, that is not a small task! The versatility of Mexican food gives Taco Bell a great advantage. Just a few staple ingredients create infinite possibilities. I go through stages, it is usually a tostada, a veggie burrito, a bean and cheese enchirito or a bean taco. They are super accommodating and will put beans in instead of beef, but use caution. The last bit of mystery meat that I bit into was courtesy of Taco bell. The employees sometimes forget and put meat in anyways. — so check your special orders please. Taco Bell has a unique and consistent flavor. Not gourmet or out of this world, but satisfying and addicting. My current favorite is a bean enchirito, which coincidentally in not on the regular menu but it is a combination of their staple ingredients and they whip them up without a flinch. I can always count on this enchirito to satisfy, they are flour tortillas stuffed with beans and melty cheese smothered in red sauce and zested with diced onions. Yum. Don’t try for health food at Taco bell, you are kidding yourself if you try. So go all out and get what sounds good. Hasta la vista Taco Bell, see you soon.

Wow a taco bell that didn’t mess up my order!!! I haven’t come across that in the last 30 years! :) The staff here is super friendly and unlike some Taco Bell locations the taco shells are not stale. I wouldn’t normally give Taco Bell 5 stars. But this Taco Bell is especially good.

I like it! I know the food isn’t really healthy but I like it once a year for a treat.

Took my kids to get some tacos after school. This place recently got re-built. Looks nicer. We had to wait 15 min just to place our order than another 15 for our order. Tried it again a week later, thinking it was a bad day. Same thing happened. Fast food… NOT.

Taco Bell is a great place to get cheap, good Mexican food that has the same quality if you’re in San Diego or Boston. I saw that this place looked like it was closed a few months ago, but glad to see they were just renovating it. The staff is very nice and friendly and I get my food very quick and the good thing is the staff asks«Does your order look correct?» at the drive through(too many times at fast food places, they mess up your order and you only see it after you’re back home). Highly recommend this place!

They have a very nice drink machine with the best type of ice. Their accommodations are very nice as well. Pleasure to do business with them.

I went to this taco bell because it had been pretty reliable in the past. However my latest experience was especially horrible. We ordered a box of 12 taco supreme. We paid for sour cream on the tacos which they did not have. We asked for salsa fire and mild. We got 5 hot salsas for 12 tacos that did not have sour cream. We called the numbers on the receipt. The store did not pick up it phone and the regional manager did not answer either. So I called the store back until they answered which took 20 minutes. When I gave her my complaint and phone number she asked me to call back tomorrow. This was ridiculous

I give it three(3) stars for consistency because although it’s not often, when I get the itch for the Taco Bell, I gotta ring it. *ding! taco tacas taca tacamos tacais(the elusive conjugation for vosotros) tacan And that is how you conjugate the«taco.» It’s like McDonald’s when I gotta lambada through the golden arches. Olé!

Apryl is an ophthalmic technician at an eye center up in Encinitas and I have Thursdays and Fridays off, so naturally, I go and have lunch with her. We’ve been to this Taco Bell a few times and it’s not the best restaurant to eat in, not by a long shot, but the food is consistent and tasty. The restaurant area is the only reason I dock this place. The dining area has about a half dozen closely installed tables with attached swivel chairs hanging from each corner. The Taco Bell standard purple, blue and pink paint scheme is liberally plastered throughout the restaurant, tables, walls and bathrooms. There is no outside sitting, so depending upon what time you are there, you are likely to end up elbow to elbow with a painter or some other laborer, equally as foul smelling, looking and hungry. The tables have a thin layer of prior taco dining experience applied to each square inch and the brown napkins barely help in destroying this evidence. The food is good. It’s always hot and about a fresh tasting as Taco Bell can get. The lettuce is crisp and cool. The taco shells are crunchy and never broken prior to your first bite. The hot sauces are conveniently located on the counter near the soda machine, along with the napkins, straws and lids. It’s a decent place when you are tight on time and in Encinitas, in need of a lunch consisting of faux Mexican food. Oh, and despite what the man out front tells you, he is not a valet!

The food from this Taco Bell is more than satisfactory and its consistent — you’ll get the same quality every time. Now you’re asking yourself, «Why only two stars then?» Patient my young padawan, I’ll tell you; Because 1) They’re only open until 1am and 2) Their service is inconsistent and at times upsetting. Here are my most memorable incidents with Taco Bell of Encinitas that have left me not only upset but hungry … Incident A: After calling it an early night downtown, I proceeded to chauffeur a busload of intoxicated hungry friends to the drive-thru. Received the typical Taco Bell greeting and I proceeded to translate the yelling, stuttering and mumbling being echoed to me from the back seats by way of the inhabitants of the middle seats in our short bus. I managed to complete the request for some midnight sustenance and after a short pause was told — «We’re out of meat» — I have to end the story here as I can’t repeat the witty retort rumbling throughout the vehicle, but the common question in our mind as we pulled away was — «HOWTHE F@#$ DOYOURUNOUTOFMEAT!» Incident 2: One minutes past 1am, all the lights are still on and the ‘Drive Thru Open’ neon sign was still lit, I made eye contact with an employee through the large front windows and I whipped my ride up to the drive-thru and waited for the typical Taco Bell greeting … and waited and waited and waited — exchanged joking banter with my sister — and waited and waited — another car pulled up behind me — and waited and waited … Then the lights in the diner section went off yet the drive thru open light remained on and the drive thru menu was still lit up … Fill in your own punchline here, but I left hungry(again). Of course, I’ll continue to return here because it’s one of the only late® night options in my ‘hood, but don’t expect to partake in the ‘fourth meal’ after a long night out …

For all you haters out there who vociferously claim that Del Taco is superior to the Bell, I bite my thumb at thee. This Taco Bell location has almost 100% of the time been MORE than satisfactory. With Taco Bell, you kind of never know. Maybe one location scrimps on the beef. Maybe another doesn’t grill your quesadilla long enough. Taco Bell Encinitas gets it right, baby. ONCE. ONCE they forgot my Caramel Apple Empanada. I was shocked and horrified. I immediately phoned and spoke with the manager, praising him for the amazing service and delicious food quality that I had become accustomed to — lightly mentioning at the end that they had forgot my oh-so-sweet Caramel Apple Empanada. Relief washed over me in an awesome wave when he informed that I would receive my forgotten treat immediately. Wishing not to have to make another trip, I asked if I could just get it next time — he abided and I was satisifed, munching instead on a more nutritious Clif Bar. But seriously, folks. This place has it on lock. If you LIKE Taco Bell and you’re in the Encinitas area, prepare for love in a tortilla. Or gordita. Or chalupa(which is just a fried gordita).
