Taking Shape

I finished the process just over a week ago. I lost about 2 inches total. I was hoping for more but I’m not disappointed in the least. I loved the process. Once I started to work with Frank, he worked me hard. In getting to know Nancy and Frank, I’ve learned a lot, so I decided to continue with the Vibration workout with Frank and it’s an awesome experience. If you’re looking to enhance your workout, plus hang with two really great people, please check this out. It’s not a miracle cure but if you put in the work, you won’t regret it.

I adore Nancy and Frank and the business they have built up! They are great people who truly care about you and helping improve your health unlike a lot of the bigger spas or fitness centers! I have continued coming back to them. I definitely recommend their great service! Thank you guys!

I really enjoyed my experience to say the least. Frank and Nancy own their business and they take much pride in that. They are very professional, yet also know how to make you feel like family. These two are very motivating and encouraging to help get you through your sessions and workouts. I loved every bit of it! After purchasing their Groupon deal, I started the lipo laser sessions. Ever since the first session I regret the purchase. Frank and Nancy were said to be true professionals in a 5 star review I read, but that is not the truth.
1. They had me stand on a scale that measured not just my weight, but the percentage of water in my body, fat, etc. When I finished my last session I assumed Nancy might have me step on the scale again to show me any results or any changes. Nope. Instead, someone showed up early to their appointment and she was ready for me to leave. A true professional cares about you and your results. She did not care. She did not even try and sell me on more sessions. It was like she knows once you try the lipo laser there’s no point in trying to get you to buy more cause they suck. This is definitely a place for one stop shops. I don’t see how anyone would ever come back here. I didn’t see any results.
2. Frank is… let’s just say… thinks he’s an egg head. We did the whole body vibration after the laser sessions and he was nice. However, he was always talking to me about random life thoughts and he even went to the extent of saying how he has changed peoples lives so much, etc. That’s a fine conversation to have with a friend or your significant other, but I not knowing this man could care less about him. I don’t want to talk to him about him the whole time i’m exercising. A true professional would ask me about my eating habits, basically talk to me about anything related to the reason I’m there. This is business, not social time. Not once was he asking me how much water I was drinking or anything about my diet. Nada. He is the one that made me question this place. At that point after talking to Frank, I realized they’re not doctors. Nancy could have pulled it off because she speaks professionally. Frank gave it away. And the way he dressed was not professional. He is not a personal trainer. He is overweight himself. He gives no authority to the work he does.
OVERALL:
I will not be going back. The laser machine is from 1975. They don’t ask you anything related to or guide you at all on your weight loss journey. It’s just going through the motions then saying good-​bye. That’s when I felt so stupid. I shouldn’t have trusted the Unilocal reviews that were probably people they knew. There are a lot more professional places in San Diego that will be way more worth it. I’m going to this new place that does vitamin b injections to speed up your metabolism and a few other things in addition to a laser that is far more advanced. They care about getting me to my goal.
ANOTHER THING:
Go to this place before making a purchase. Once you see the inside you’ll realize what I mean by not professional. The place looks like crap. There is clutter in the exercise room, none of their furniture matches and everything looks like its from a used furniture store. I feel like I’m at my 16 year old brother’s house that he transformed into a fake doctors office for a day.
There are no professional certificates on the walls because they are not professionals.
I’ve taken advanced science classes in college, and their explanation for the weight loss solution also made me realize what an idiot I was for paying for this.
(Please note that I work out multiple days a week and have a slim figure, I just haven’t been able to get rid of a patch of fat, which is why I came. If there were any results, I would have noticed.
Also, because this technology is open to the general public, anyone can do what they do. For all we know, Frank could have been a construction worker and Nancy a secretary, who chose to buy this technology and market it on Groupon. They are not doctors. I stress that because I was so stupid to not wonder that before I bought this. And if you’re looking up laser lipo before and after pics, their machine is some weird brand I looked up after the first session. Not all lipo lasers are created equally.

I’ve had several sessions with Nancy and Frank at Taking Shape, and they work seamlessly as a team. Nancy applies the fat dissolving light pads and leaves you to your meditation or mind wandering in a private, quiet calm room, so you can relax while the light pads quietly do their work and then Frank put’s you to task with a rapid fire 10 minute workout on the vibration machine. You will not believe how much weight loss and conditioning success you can squeeze into a 20 minute time commitment!

I just needed a kick-​start to resume my well-​intentioned (but too busy to fit it in) exercise régime and a bit of firming up. This combo package was the jump-​start I was looking for. I started to feel the difference in the tone of the areas we focused on in just 3 – 4 sessions and I was amazed that I could gain such visible results without a massive time commitment.

I had five sessions of fat burning light therapy combined with the total vibration machine at Taking Shape and saw some modest results. But as Nancy the owner explained the fat burning continues for about 10 days after you are done and it surely did. With the continued intake of nutritional foods and vigorous exercise I saw my body really change. Snug skirts and shorts became looser after a few weeks and i’ve seen areas on my body no longer hold fat. It’s really remarkable. I would definitely recommend Taking Shape to help you blast those trouble spots that don’t want to let go of the fat cells!

I was very impressed with my experience at Taking Shape. Nancy and Frank are true professionals and are very knowledgeable about proper diet and exercise. They can teach you how to maintain a healthy life style.
I bought a Group On special for four sessions, my target areas were my abdomen and love handles, by the forth visit, I felt tighter in those areas.
The lipo laser is such a relaxing, soothing experience, I really enjoyed it.
I’m hoping to make it back soon. I really liked the whole body vibration workout, it’s intense, and challenging but you feel great, full of energy afterward. The more you do it, the higher your endurance will be.

Very positive experience. You get more than just lipolaser with this team. You also get personal trainers. The lipolaser quick starts the fat reduction but bottom line, no matter how you want to get rid of the extra fat — vela shape, cool shape, etc., diet and exercise are the key to keeping it off. Frank and Nancy point you to thinking in the right way and show you what you need to do to make that happen.

I purchased a Groupon to try the Lipo Laser that Nancy and Frank offer at their clinic. I have to say I was skeptical. I am healthy and fit but I had a little stubborn belly fat I was looking to get rid of. I gave it a try because, what if it worked?
From my very first phone call to the clinic everything went smoothly. Nancy and Frank are extremely organized, punctual and passionate about helping people loose inches. Still, I wasn’t really sure it was going to work but was hopeful.
I initially purchased 4 sessions. After those 4 sessions I could see and feel a visible difference in my waistline. So I purchased 4 more sessions at a good rate. There was never any pressure to purchase more sessions, it all just happened organically and I really wanted more. After 8 sessions total, I had lost 4 inches on my waist. These are incredible results in a very short time frame.
the process was extremely pleasant and Nancy and Frank are such positive people that I always left in a better mood than when I showed up. The whole thing was quite invigorating and it had a positive effect on my whole day.
I also didn’t change anything else. I still ate as normal and didn’t add any additional exercise to my routine. This treatment really works and works quickly and affectively. I learned about Taking Shape through a Groupon. I had never heard of the techniques used but was willing to try based on the reviews. I bought the 4 sessions. The first week I lost 5 and a half inches! I lost in total over 6 inches and as an added bonus, my chronic shoulder problem was almost gone entirely! Nancy and Frank were passionate and caring. I would recommend the experience to everyone. I even decided to get a vibrating machine for my workout room because I felt so great after the workouts.

Nancy and Frank at Taking Shape are very passionate about helping each of their customers and it shows with every conversation. They really motivated me to get started on my weight loss journey. I only have 10 or less pounds I’d like to loose, but its that stubborn fat which is really hard to do through diet & exercise alone. Excellent experience. The promise was to make a body contour change in two weeks, and they did. Reading about the use of light laser Lipo I still was not sure the results was going to be what they claim. Nancy was great, explained how the laser worked, and it did work. Frank took me through a great workout in 15 minutes. Better than Cross-​Fit and better than Seal-​Fit. The results are amazing and I will keep up the exercise routine, because it’s simple and it works.

I took Taking Shape a try because I was desperate in getting rid of stubborn & unwanted fat from my midsection. Being a bridesmaid to an upcoming wedding, I also wanted to lose some inches to fit into the dress.
When I saw the deal from Groupon, I took it & made my consultation. Nancy & Frank are awesome at what they do. They will take you step by step on how the treatments work and take time to answer all concerns & questions. The laser treatment is completely safe, painless & very relaxing. It is about 7 minutes per each body part. At the end of the treatment, Frank will work with you on a 10 minute power exercise on the total body vibration machine (which will really help you burn & release the fat).
After my 4^th treatment, I started seeing results & it was more evident when I got re-​fitted on my bridesmaid dress. The dress completely slid off my body & they had to size it down at least 2 more dress sizes. That’s when I knew the treatments really work!
I couldn’t believe my overall results. I lost a total of 4.25 inches off my mid section after 7 treatments!!! If you stick to the protocol by drinking lots of water & exercising (especially on treatment days), you will get your results. It’s been 1 week since my last treatment and I still continue to lose weight & inches. I also lost a total of 8 lbs in 3 weeks from my initial weight. I want to start by saying how amazingly kind and professional Nancy and Frank are! They were both very accommodating with my schedule. At the first consultation appointment, Nancy explained everything and answered all my questions. I did 8 sessions and started seeing results around the 3^rd session. I had several compliments about how much I slimmed down. Overall the deal was worth it and I would recommend it to anyone looking to concentrate on certain areas (for me it was my midsection). Frank also showed me how to use the body vibration machine at the end of our sessions that helped break down the fat in my mid section.

My review is based exclusively on my initial consultation, not on the treatments because I did not proceed with treatment from Taking Shape. I was impressed with their knowledge and was excited to begin my treatment after a brief consultation. When we sat down to schedule sessions and discuss costs it all went south…
First of all, on THEIR website, it states «$ 199 for the first three sessions. First time customers only. Minimum purchase of nine sessions». I don’t know about you but that CLEARLY means that you must purchase nine sessions to qualify for the deal bringing your total for nine treatments to $ 600. Right? Simple. Done. Except that’s not at all what it means… Upon further explanation, the $ 199 only applies to the first three but you must purchase 6 more at the regular price to even get the first three at the promoted price anyways and must commit to nine sessions which brings your total not to $ 600 but to $ 999 instead. A $ 400 difference… Really? Does that make sense to anyone? In my world that’s called Bait and Switch… So fine, you are not gonna stand behind what your website says, ok, so I will purchase YOUR advertised Unilocal deal then and get $ 125 towards $ 250 worth of treatment then ok? «Oh, we ran that a long time ago but had thought we canceled that» was the answer I got. So, no, they won’t honor the advertised Unilocal deal (FYI to all you Unilocalers)… I heard Nancy mention Living Social with the previous patient so I asked her if they were running a Living Social add currently and she said no. I was told if was «one of those people that needed to work within a budget» or «looking for the best deal» they understood but could not compromise their treatment… No, I’m just asking YOU to stand behind the deals that YOU yourself are promoting. Fine, schedule me for three sessions and charge me $ 199… «But you do understand we are only doing that in good faith that you will schedule all nine»… Fine. Whatever.
After all that I get home and see they are running a Groupon special for 4 sessions for $ 239… So I purchase this and emailed them to let know this. Again with the response «we ran that weeks ago and thought it was done»… I canceled my Groupon and won’t be going through with any treatments at their facility. I don’t think these people are trying to be sneaky and I do think they really believe in their treatment and are seeing good results. I just think their advertising is misleading and they have bit off more then they can chew with all these Internet specials. I was told that I was one of about half a dozen people who had said the same thing. So they are acknowledging the issue but unfortunately not handling the errors in a timely matter… This will hurt their business until they correct things.

I have to say I was skeptical about the effectiveness of cold laser therapy in weight loss. After reading a little about it I got a groupon and decided to see for myself. I had scheduled 6 sessions, which was the minimum recommended to see the results and was given a protocol to follow, it outlined the things I was supposed to eliminate from my diet, it also emphasized healthy eating and daily exercise. The protocol alone was a recipe for weight loss.
I started my protocol 3 weeks before my first session, instead of 1 week as recommended, since I know my body loses the most weight in the first week of diet and exercise. I didn’t want the laser to get the credit.
During the 12 days of my treatments (I had them every other day) I tried my best to be diligent, I made sure I exercised within first 3 hours after laser therapy, wore compression stockings all day and all night, and stuck to a very healthy diet.
Finally the day came, my thighs (target areas) were measured after 5 treatments and I had lost 1 and ¼ inches in diameter in each thigh, I couldn’t believe it! Something actually worked for me :)
I now believe in cold laser therapy and strongly recommend Taking Shape! The level of professionalism and the customer service was exceptional. I noticed every single client before me left the place with a huge smile on their face. You feel taken care of and uplifted after the treatments. Frank was very knowledgeable and accommodating. And Nancy was truly wonderful, she is the most kind and charming person I’ve ever met. Thank you for such a great experience! It helped me kick start the transformation into a healthy me.

As a health and fitness professional, it’s very important to me to look and feel my best. Frank and his team are very professional and welcoming, they took the time to answer my many questions. From someone who truly understands the systems of the body, the technology completely makes sense. Also, they emphasize the importance of approaching the treatment in a holistic manner, and encourage healthy lifestyle choices that hopefully will stay with you long after treatment is over. My results were significant. I would recommend Taking Shape to anyone wanting to take their body to the next level or jumpstart a new lifestyle.

I have nothing but good things to say about Taking Shape. The service was excellent and the staff was outstanding. Frank is truly great and really has a sincere interest in continuously improving services and the girl (i apologize for not remembering your name) who helped me with treatments was truly a gem and really interacted with you and gave you honest expectations. I can see how others could be upset with the results they may receive, however, if you think you can eat the junk and still lose a chunk, your dreaming. This treatment really helps to detoxify and give you a boost as well as tighten areas and flush out wastes that may be lingering. There is a protocol to follow that for some may be difficult, but if you eat relatively healthy anyways, its really not bad. Overall, very impressed with everything and probably would go through treatments again. Definitely recommend this for those who have realistic expectations and who are about to jumpstart a health plan or looking to maintain and define results. This was great to test out, also had to add i bought my deal on living social, so being that it was a discounted service, it was great and they are also fantastic about fitting you in, as I was fitting appointments in while traveling through San Diego.

The Zerona and Lapex lasers have really helped me spot reduce and improve my overall skin appearance. The combination of these treatments have been amazing! I have really enjoyed my treatments at Taking Shape. The owners and staff really go the distance to make sure you know how to get the best results possibl… and it is a very relaxing experience.
Over the summer I did a short series of Zerona treatments and more currently tried the combined cold laser treatment using this as a catalyst to motivate me into the gym and better overall health. Always being in a hurry… my theory was that I would be rewarded with much greater and quicker work-​out results.
