Great place if you’re the type of person who makes a beeline for the products you need and get out. Usually seems low on staff, though, so I wouldn’t want to go in there with question. Also, it’s actually cheaper than Amazon for the things I buy(Vitamin B and Fish Oil), so awesome!

I was hesitant to come here because I figured the prices would be jacked up. I had a list of items I needed from my nutritionist and took it with me to Vitamin Shoppe. The gentleman who was working there actually offered his assistance. He looked over the list and took me to each item and made suggestions for similar items that might be cheaper. For example, I needed a calcium vitamin and vitamin D. He suggested a bottle that combined both. Win! They have a lot of different products from what I could tell. Although honestly I was focused primarily on my list and didn’t wander the store much. The overall price was reasonable and I felt like the employee who helped me was very knowledgeable of the products I was purchasing.

The worst! Today topped all other visits, with an item cross-merchandised in four different places displaying three different prices. This surpasses their regular routine of two different prices for the same item, which ALWAYS yields the highest price when computer-checked. I’ve seen quite a bit of what Jeffrey and Brian describe in my visits. The year-end rewards coupon has issues of it’s own, with the store seldom honoring your hard-earned rewards without dispute. I’ve had super service at LaMesa and Oceanside stores, it’s hard to believe Encinitas is on the same planet with those stores it is so poorly run. Scowls and excuses come complimentary at Encinitas. In my 5 – 6 years of periodic visits here I’ve gone from many months of spending $ 200+ to maybe $ 200/yr. total. I’M DONE!!!

Every time I enter this place I feel like a general contractor of 30yrs walking into Home Depot to get a part and some pink faced kid walks up and asks if I need help finding something. I just want to look them in the face and say: «I know more than you.» I wish the employees here would stop trying to sell people magic in a bottle. 90% of what’s in your store is bullshit that NOBODY needs. As a trainer who talks to people about diet, exercise, and wellbeing every day, I find it offensive that supplement peddlers try to undermine all of the dietary and nutritional information I give my clients by selling them organic bee shit and vegan protein powder. All the while telling them they need to «detox.»(Whatever the fuck that means) Most people need to exercise, eat well, and sleep. Supplements are for the upper end and to SUPPLEMENT what you’re already doing correctly. Grabbing a vitamin D, fish oil, and perhaps a B-vitamin is enough for the majority of the population. Add in a simple protein powder and almost every single person would be good to go. Otherwise their prices are OKAY. Always get store brand shit. It’s cheaper for the same shit and you aren’t just paying 10 – 100 more dollars for the fucking label.

Majority of people that works for this location are rude. Not very knowledgeable with basic protein product. How much more with other products they’re carrying. If you know the brand you want to buy and the carry it. Then this place is for you but if you’re still trying to figure our what supplement you’re getting go somewhere else where you can ask question to people who are knowledgeable with the product they’re carrying. And give you some input with the products you’re interested in.

Vitamin Shoppe not only has EVERYTHING anyone could possibly need, but it has a very knowledgable staff to help you decide what you need. I have been buying nutrition supplements for years and have yet to find a better place to buy mine!

A good and convenient shop for vitamins, omegas, amino acids and protein, they have a good variety of many supplements. Encinitas location is in the back of the strip mall, but once found, the employees were very helpful, knowledgeable about ami o acids and bioavailabilty and the various brands. Fair prices, not a Costco, but carries more varieties. We will be back!

Great place The prices are fair, the selection is there. If you want a certain vitamin, supplement, protein powder or some type of mineral this place probably has it. I ‘ve found the employees to be knowledgeable and friendly, the opposite of another reviewer. Sign up for there reward program. At the end of the year you’ll get a certificate for free products at the end of the year.

I have been an avid customer over the past few years. I have lived all throughout southern CA and always make sure to get any vitamins or supplements from this franchise. Customer service is always an A+ wherever i have been. If an employee doesn’t have an answer for you in the moment they are always sure to go to the computer and do the research to find out. All top line supplements so i suggest you do not look anywhere else.

I wanted to replace a supplement I had been getting at the grocery store, and I knew the online prices at Vitamin Shoppe were better, so I called this store to see if they had it in stock. The sales person went out of her way to locate it, looking it up on her computer when she couldn’t find it on the shelf. When I went in a little bit later, she remembered me and got it off the shelf for me. She also gave me a tip about using it. I asked her about a protein powder, and even though I couldn’t remember the brand name she knew which one I wanted and told me about an upcoming special. So lots of individual treatment beyond the call of duty, and good prices.

Finding _YOUR_supplements without killing yourself and your bank account in the process can be a daunting task. Unless there is a specific sale, I find GNC to be a budget buster and most of the local sports nutrition shops don’t stock everything I’m looking for. When I found out that The Vitamin Shoppe was opening right down the street from me, I was ecstatic! Every location I’ve ever visited staffs friendly employees and possesses a ridiculous stock that can only be described as Costco for Sports Nutrition. The Vitamin Shoppe Encinitas is still new and their stock isn’t up to par — they didn’t have half of what I usually find at the other stores and the sales person had no clue what I was asking for. So Encinitas is still in their infant stage and has some«growing up» to do. I hope on my next visit I’ll be able to come home and give it the 5 stars that I’ve appreciated from their many other fine shops.
