«I did a lot of planning before I opened Vertical Printing and Graphics,» Laura Beulke explained. She made sure she obtained the proper equipment and dedicated time to work on projects. «I also listened to my customers’ needs. Unlike many of my competitors, I want my clients to keep coming back, so I am always honest with my customers, so they always know what we can do from the beginning.»

VPG’s clients appreciate the fact that, unlike many other printers, Vertical Printing & Graphics specializes in short-​run printing and mailing orders. Whereas other printers will only handle orders in the thousands.

Vertical Printing & Graphics will print and bulk-​mail as few as 200 pieces, the minimum the post office will allow.

Vertical Printing & Graphics is located on the corner of Encinitas Blvd. and Rancho Santa Fe Rd., and has clients across the U.S.

Meet the Business Owner

Laura B.

Business Owner

After graduating high school, Laura worked as a desktop publisher at Kinko’s. She then worked as a graphic designer for a printer in the real estate industry, and then went on to become a production manager/​art director at CPS Publishing, in Ventura County, CA, distributing its magazines in San Fernando, Ventura County, and the Santa Clarita Valley. Beulke also managed eight other destinations and relocation/​chamber directories.

As a self-​taught designer and entrepreneur, Laura decided to start her own printing business in 2002. «I worked for others for many years and felt I had a lot to offer,» she said. Laura vowed to herself that she would never create bland and generic marketing materials for her clients. «There are too many printers that do that already,» Laura said.

Starting as a home-​based business, Laura began Vertical Printing and Graphics (VPG) out of her garage to provide clients with custom printing and design services that would stand out from all other printers.
