Vohg Hair

I really did my homework before choosing Carly at Vohg. I absolutely loved my gal in Manhattan Beach, but driving from San Diego wasn’t going to last long. I tried 3 other salons in San Diego and did not love my hair afterwards.
After meeting Carly and seeing what a fantastic job she did on my hair, I know I don’t have to commute any longer or look any further. The truth is, getting your hair done isn’t cheap anymore, but Carly was definitely worth it! She made my hair look exactly the way I wanted it to and took the time to style it like it’s never been styled before, leaving me feeling refreshed and fabulous! I highly recommend Carly and am relieved I’ve finally found my San Diego hair gal!

Brien is the man! Great dude, great work, professional and all of the above! When detour called and said you were not there anymore I got really worried. Glad you are just down the street. See ya soon. Btw, I’m glad we got chip now. Chips ahoy

Came in for cut and balayage color… staff was very welcoming and salon is super cute. Love everything about my hair, thanks to the amazing Mirza! He’s incredibly experienced, funny, sweet, and really listens to what you want. You won’t be disappointed! I’ll never go anywhere else!

I was referred to Carie as a true professional who specializes in color correction, and that she did! I came to her with an all over red tint which I had been to multiple stylists to fix unsuccessfully. It didn’t help that I had multiple colors in my hair from years of high/​Lo lights. She set realistic expectations for me and said it would take about 3 visits to fully correct, but with a big improvement with the first color process. I’ve been with her since and wouldn’t even consider going anywhere else. I’ve been semi satisfied with my color over the years but truly love it now. She does the balayage on me, a flattering combination of caramel, blonde with lots of dimension and shine. She does a protein treatment and gloss with every process to keep it in optimal shape.
I would also highly recommend her for Great Lengths extensions. I got them for the first time to get through a short hair cut (had them for 3.5 months and they would have lasted longer) and the color was matched so well you couldn’t find them in my hair if you tried. It’s not inexpensive but the quality and look are what you’re paying for!

Jaslynn at Vohg is super talented! She did my hair for my wedding and I absolutely loved it! She is super sweet, professional, and a great person to have around white getting wedding ready! All of my bridesmaids were also very happy with their hair and we all got lots of compliments. Thank you so much Jaslyn!

If I could give this salon ten stars I would. For starters, it’s beautiful, modern, spotless, and they serve champagne… If that doesn’t already make you a fan, every single stylist here is phenomenal. They carry wonderful products by Oribe, R+Co, Smith and Cult, and locally made jewelry that fits the vibe of the salon perfectly. If you’re into being blonde and having that SoCal ‘je né sais quoi’ hair that looks perfectly imperfect this is your go to spot. I went blonde last week at Vohg and couldn’t get enough, so I booked an appointment to go blonder than I’ve ever been in my life! Alexa gave me my platinum dream come true, and a blowout that would make Giselle jealous… I’m forever in love with the gals at Vohg, and you will be too!

Vohg hair is going to be my forever salon, as long as Alexa is on board! She is so sweet and professional, and soooo talented!!! She is always gentle (I have a tender head) and never fails to make my hair look AMAZINGGGG and envy-​worthy! Alexa gave me a blowout and a cute hairstyle for a wedding I was attending. She even touched up my mom’s curls since hers were coming undone. She is the bomb! Everyone is so nice here! Love it!

I rarely take the time to write reviews, even when I know I should! But I have to take the time to express my thoughts and experience with VOHG
My entire life I have always jumped from hair salon to hair salon, and stylist to stylist because I am never completely 100 percent happy with what I get and what I pay for. I am so genuinely happy to know that I never have to search for another salon again. I don’t ever want to go anywhere else! These ladies KNOW what they are doing when it comes to hair. They are constantly going to talks and Q&A’s regarding hair, and thus, always staying ahead of the best products, methods, and hair styles.

(All of which are R+Co products. Their natural ingredients are very important to me and my hair! But I also feel like I stepped out of a salon with every use. Worth the extra investment! You get what you paid for, that’s for sure.)
My favorite hair stylist:
I have had the pleasure of having my hair done by miss Carly multiple times. I have not yet had the pleasure to have my hair done by the other ladies but I know they are great! I see the clients that walk out the doors with their freshly pampered hair, always looking amazing.
My favorite hair treatment: I ask for my hair to be sun-​kissed with balayage
My entire life I have never used heating products including blow dryers, straighteners and curling irons. I have certainly never added color to my hair. I would never had allowed anyone but a stylist at VOHG transform my virgin hair with some light balayage (make sure to invest in the Park Av. Product to protect your hair from sun and heat! I recently started to curl my hair and realized how vital it is to protect the hair, especially after treating it with color). Carly made my hair stay natural-​looking but she spiced it up with texture and light. An added benefit is that as the hair grows out, your balayage looks better and better and you don’t have to keep dying your hair! Definitely go for the balayage. Worth the price! Again, again you get what you pay for! You do NOT want to settle somewhere cheap when it comes to your hair. You need the best! VOHG is the best.

I highly recommend Larissa Dasilva from Vohg hair. I have fine flat hair and she has worked wonders with my hair type. She has guided me through adding a few extensions to create fullness and style along with the correct color and cut to enhance my face and hair type. Today I do not have fine limp washed out hair but style, correct color, and fullness. Every time I leave the shop someone compliments my hair. I highly recommend Larissa Dasilva at Vogh hair.

I get my hair done by Carly and she is amazing! True talent and such a sweet person. I’ve seen the work of the other stylists also and they are equally as phenomenal! Certainly worth a visit.

Carly at Vohg is AH-​MAZING! I recently moved to San Diego for my summer externship and was in dire need of a haircut. I luckily found the salon through the reviews here on Unilocal.The location is breathtaking, right next to Moonlight Beach!
When I walked into the salon it was very welcoming and modern. I wanted face framing layers, 5 – 6 inches shorter, scissor cut only to try and get the illusion of more volume for my very fine hair. I showed Carly some pictures of what I was looking for and Carly knew exactly what to do! She truly has a craft with hair.
I love that she uses Oribe products because they are high quality and smell SO GOOD. This is by far the best cut I’ve had in many years and well worth the price! I’ll be booking my next appointment back at Vohg when the time comes.

I’d like to keep Jaslynn a secret, but that would be wrong. Jazz, stylist/​chemist extraordinaire, is hands down amazing. You get a stylist that evaluates your face shape to help you pick the right style that fits your body. She really learns your hair texture and chemistry to ensure it’s never fried if you want highlights, and for color, she evaluates it so it doesn’t wash you out. My husband goes to her too so guys, don’t be shy to get your style on. Go see her. Do it. Do now. But don’t take my appointments.

We LOVE Vohg! Both of us see Carly and absolutely love her. The salon space is very chic and inviting. Every one here is very friendly and we always leave looking fabulous! You will not be disappointed!

Larissa D. Is the greatest! The atmosphere was just amazing I first went to Larissa for a color correction and she has just changed my hair completely and for the better! If you want a GORGEOUS cut and color (I had an out-​of-​this-​world balayage done,) then this is definitely the salon for you!
The space: Well designed to relax you but also give you that feeling of artistic inspiration – hey, hair is art! What I love most about the salon is that it feels professional, but doesn’t make you feel intimidated (we’ve all been there.)
The service: I was treated with utmost care from the moment I walked in. The receptionist was caring and attentive and much more welcoming than most, and before seating I was offered a huge array of beverages, ranging from an assortment of gourmet teas to two types of wine! Carly, the salon owner and my stylist, made sure that I was comfortable and entertained the whole way through.
The style: I came in with unkempt and uncolored curls and left with a sleek tamed mane with a natural looking (but fierce!) blonde balayage. It was a much needed transformation, and I might just call it the best coloring experience I’ve EVER had. No joke, it’s that good.
Long story short, you will REALLY enjoy your time at this salon – and if you’re with Carly, be prepared to laugh a lot and love your color. :)
