Terrible experience today. Dr. Tse sent my boys away without seeing them for their scheduled appointments today because they did not have their insurance cards with them. My boys who are 18 and 15 have been patients for 7 years! YESTERDAY they saw my oldest daughter who is 20. and her brothers covered under the exact same insurance as her! We have great insurance coverage. But the office manager said «nope! You can’t be seen today, the office Protocol is you need your cards!!»
We have been coming here for 7 years and nothing has changed on the insurance. It was not like we are some random new patients, or looking to skip out on a bill. The office manager treated them horribly made zero accommodations to handle this situation correctly. I was at work, and she could have seen them and in two hours I could have sent the front and the back of the card or we just live down the street. They could have brought the cards back in the afternoon. There were many options. I just don’t understand how someone could be so rude and inflexible.
Once I was out of my business meeting I call the office and the office manager said it is the Doctor’s policy and they need payment rendered upon service. Even after Dr. Tse has seen my daughter twice this month and we have been patients 7 years, none of that meant anything in how my boys were treated today.
Unreal! She did not even apologize about how poorly she handled the situation. She just offered for me to talk to the doctor. No thank you! If you don’t value my boys time, and are that inflexible, we will just go to another doctor.

Dr. Tse is getting 1 star for one reason, being an hour and half late! I was in her office today. After 20 minutes, I asked her staff how much longer. They informed me it would be ATLEST 30 – 45 minutes longer! That would be total of over an hour late. I asked «why was I not called ahead of time?» The office staff member said «we had an unexpected procedure and I did not know.» Not acceptable. The doctor and office staff always need to be in communication.
Dr. Tse failed in being on time and communicating with her patients ahead of time. I have 3 small children and had to get a babysitter for this appointment. You can have as many treats, cookie and drinks in your office but you must be on time and inform your patients if you are going to be extremely late. No excuse. You waste my time, I leave a lousy review!

Much like one of the reviews written here, I had a similar experience as well. I had a mole removed by Yardy as it was basal cell as well. The mole was on the upper area of my back between my shoulder blades. As a female in my 20’s it is obvious that yes wearing any kind or blouse or dress or bathing suite this area is often very visible and one that you would not want damaged by unsightly scaring. Well unfortunately Yardy took to that mole with damaging work that has many years later still left me with terrible looking scaring and damage.
If I had only known :(I would have taken this to a proper plastic surgeon and as professional doctor she should have advised me on this option.

First appt was asked to come in 20 minutes early. Was put in a paper gown and after 30 min of waiting I went to look for a nurse and was told that they can not predict how long the wait will be since they don’t know what the other patients before me want to do cosmetically.

I went to Dr. Tse recently, to consult about my skin rash and to inquire about facial fillers. She recommended about $ 3500.00 worth of treatment. It turned out to be completely overpriced and unnecessary, as I went to a Board Certified plastic surgeon and got the fillers for $ 250.00. Dr. Tse told me that I shouldn’t go to a plastic surgeon because the nurses would do the procedure, and ‘the surgeons almost never do it themselves.’ She was wrong about that, in my case, and I feel that she was motivated by money first and foremost. Patient connection is not her strong suit. I will be shopping for another dermatologist in the future.

Went in for a consult for fillers and to see if I was a candidate for the new ULTherapy machine. Though I was one of the first 10 people to call and get in for «free», I was not selected as a candidate due to the lack of collagen in my face. Once we determined ULTherapy was not right for me, we discussed fillers. Dr. Tse was very nice, she took her time with me, her assistant was extremely friendly, and the office was lovely.
Unfortunately since I am not working right now, I am not able to afford the fillers they were trying to sell me. I would go back at a later time especially if I had insurance.

I have gone to Dr Tse for years and recommend her to my friends and family. She is very careful with skin care diagnoses and has taken care of 3 or 4 Moh’s surgeries on my nose and leg. Her work is perfect medically and aesthetically. She does cosmetic procedures too but you have to ask about them to find out about them because she is an ethical doctor and doesn’t try to push the cosmetic side as so many other drs do. Everyone in her office is well trained and friendly. Dr. Tse focuses on your medical needs or your cosmetic procedure — Because of my Irish skin and the Southern California sunshine, I’ve been in many offices of dermatologists who also do Moh’s surgery and I’m staying with Dr. Tse.

First of all, my first review got «filtered» along with several other 1 — star reviews. So I suggest you do a little bit of homework and check the filtered reviews.
Ok, so let me restate my experience without getting «filtered» (sounds like someone may have paid for some advertising with Unilocal?just sayin)
Anyhow, Dr. Tse is condescending, and has little to no bedside manner. She was overly self-​important and completely tactless.
I was seeing her about treating the appearance of some scars I have, and first thing she says is how bad they look. I already know this and it was a serious, albeit temporary, blow to my self esteem. Anyhow after taking a buncha of pictures (which I would have preferred to not to do, I don’t like immortalizing bad memories) she recommends around 5k in fraxel laser therapy.
By now I’m already annoyed with her attitude and decide to go somewhere else. I originally went to her because she advertised to be an expert in scar minimizing. So, I go to my normal dermatologist and get cortisone injections, (which are covered by insurance). It ends up costing me $ 10.00 for the office visit. My dermatologist says nothing about the scars, and tells me to come back if I dont like the results. Anyhow, in a few months the scars diminish and I’m happy to report I have saved myself from giving 5k to an obnoxious b*&@.
Let’s see if this review gets filtered…

I’m surprised by these negative reviews. I have considered Dr. Tse one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. Having once had a mole removed by a butcher, I was amazed by her steady hand and precise work for the same procedure. I also don’t understand the comments about her personality. I have found her very pleasant. She does get straight to the point, but I’m looking for a professional, not someone to hold my hand and treat me like a child.
I would agree she is pricey. The overhead in her practice has got to be huge because clearly a lot of money has been spent on the facility itself with high end interior design. The place is designed to appeal more to the cosmetic end of dermatology, whereas my interests are more toward the less «exciting» world of removing the occasional lesion.
But, bottom line, there is nobody I’d trust more with a scalpel.

Absolutely agree with the condescending attitude assessment: its actually the reason I came to «yelp» in the first place to look her up. In fact, I rmember looking at her credentials on the wall, specifically because I was thinking «Lady, you must be good to think you’re gonna get/​keep business with that crappy attitude» (I believe she went to Univ of Michigan… not bad) She accurately diagnosed a skin irritation I had — casued by LIMES of all things – I thought she was a quack job too, as did my Primary care doctore when I told her about the diagnosis – but she was spot on. The brown scaly patches ONLY occurred when I happend to be cutting 20 limes or so for ceviche or key lime pie.
With that being said though, I am going to go back to her for a second opinion after a screw up with another derm’s diagnosis from Vista, but only because of that diagnosis, which I can’t imagine is very common, so she must know her stuff. I think every doctor out there has misdiagnosed at one point in their lives, no matter how good they are. I’ll let you know what I find…

I have to agree with what everyone else has said. Without giving my lengthy experience I’d have to say she’s very abrupt, condescending, and rough. Both spots where I was given injections to numb developed large bruises that lasted for days. The injections were unnecessarily painful and I wouldn’t reccomend her to anyone.

I love Dr. Tse, and I’d still be going to her if my insurance hadn’t changed. She has a quick, acerbic wit, and she may seem off-​putting, but she is actually quite lovely. She did a MOHS surgery on me after a previous procedure by another doctor failed to removed the cancer. I have NO visible scar, and I would trust her to do it again. She is thorough, artistic, and professional. You could get a «nicer» doctor or a cheaper one, but you won’t get a better one.

This woman is a quack job. I had basal cell carcinoma (big words for a little skin cancer) between my nose and upper lip… She did a «mohs» procedure and OOPS, decided AFTER the procedure was done that the «hole» now in my lip was going to need to be fixed by a plastic surgeon. Nice. I guess she earns the one star for NOT attempting to fix what she fucked up.
So, she basically tells me to find a plastic surgeon on my own to get the hole in my face repaired. I have insurance. But do you know what it is like trying to hook ones self up for her mistake, and having to get insurance approval without her help! Thank the Gods that I am an RN and know how to work the system a little. I feel for those that don’t. have that «luxury».
