Established in 1991.

4th Soil Music took root in 1991. I chose this name based on a Proverb that describes the «fourth soil» being fruitful. I put my love of music and my passion for showcasing my talent into creating a fruitful and memorable experience for my clients. From an initial free consultation where I find out your needs to the creation of unique remixes, playlists and edits — I ensure that my client’s expectations are exceeded. I also provide my client’s with optional complementary event consulting. I have worked with event planners, wedding coordinators and every day people who want to create a memorable experience.

Joe «DJ Jovee» Villasenor of 4th Soil Music has been in the DJ business for over 20 years — yet his style has never staled. He stays on the cutting edge of music and technology yet his playlists are relatable from ages 2 — 62. His experience includes hundreds of wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate events, private parties, birthday parties, and dances (proms, fundraisers). Joe has been a club DJ and he specializes in clean edits and remixes. 4th Soil Music can accomodate everything from an intimate soirée to a large event (our largest audience was 12,000 people for a Fortune 500 corporate event). Our goal is to ensure a memorable experience so we offer a free consultation to decide if we are the right fit for your needs. Prices vary based on event size, travel distance, number of guests and any additional requests made during the consultation. All contracts are quoted after the initial consultation so there are no surprises. 4th Soil Music wishes to exceed your expectations!

I was looking for a dj and someone recommended joe to me. I sent him a FB message for a quote for a party for 5 hours 8pm-​1am on a Saturday. He quoted me $ 375 (75/​hr) which is ridiculously expensive for a house party. I told him I had a budget of $ 200 which then he asked if I was apart of the «Church» I told him I was which he then replied «that changes everything if you were some worldly person I would have charged you a grip» In other words «rip you off» I was thrown off by his comment. I understand as Christians you want to help out your brothers and sisters in Christ but comments like that do not express the love of Christ to the world. I decided to use a different dj, I’m sure joe v is a talented dj but his character is very poor.

DJ Jovee did our wedding for us, and he was phenomenal. He listened to what we wanted and liked, set up at our ceremony and then our reception, and kept the party going. He was so great that the pretty much unanimous complaint about our wedding was that it ended too soon. Great music, very professional, and easy to work with. We had a great experience!

DJ Jovee is phenomenal!!! Unlike these other «DJ companies» in LA, he isn’t trying to rip you off or price gauge you like he’s bringing Michael Jackson back from the dead to perform at your party. He works with all budgets! Always responded to my texts and calls. Came early to set up and left late bc ppl were still hanging out after the party ended. Everyone loved him and complimented his musical mix. He knew exactly what to play for the crowd etc. he brings everything all you need is an outlet. He’s also a really nice, normal, down to earth guy. Married to a nice woman and just living his life doing what he loves. I respect that. And will ALWAYS call him first for my DJ needs. Thank you, Jovee!
P. S. Do not tell other DJs that you may be considering, who Jovee is. When I was vetting ppl, and told other DJs what Jovee quoted me, they actually got angry :/​bc his prices were THAT good. And I don’t know if they would start haggling him bc it makes it hard for them to rip ppl off for the same service.

DJ Jovee worked our wedding this past weekend and he was absolutely wonderful!
He met us in person about a month before the event and completely put our mind at ease when it came to booking him.
A couple of weeks before the event he asked that we send him a list of the music we needed for dinner and the dances. We sent him the list and gave him some creative freedoms based on the crowd’s reaction and his years of experience.
Joe got to our venue very early in order to setup and was ready to go right when he was scheduled.
He handled himself professionally and I truly couldn’t have been happier with him.
A wedding can be stressful and many times you don’t know what you’ll be getting with a vendor. Don’t risk your special event and make the safe bet with DJ Jovee.

I attended a New Years Eve party a couple of years ago, where they hired a DJ. I was leery as to how the night would go, due to so many DJ’s ruining parties in the past. People made request and the selections were played! This DJ, DJ Jovee (4th soil music) played for his customers, not for his own entertainment! He was so professional, and personable. I happened to see him at a few other venues and each time he performed the same. This year, we put together a surprise party for my son’s 21st birthday. It was at a friends home in their backyard. Guess who did the music? You got, DJ Jovee! The party was a blast! He played my son’s favorites plus some! The dance floor stayed crowded all nite! The best part of the surprise for my son, he was thrilled when he saw who the DJ was! I found my favorite DJ! Thank you DJ Jovee!

This is absolutely the best and most professional dj I have ever hired. I have hired a lot of djs over the years but none come close to the integrity, work ethic, and mad cool style of this man. From his unique sense of for the crowd and their desires to working with in any confines I have put on him he simply has exceeded my expectations every time. DJ JOVEE IS THE MAN!!! I have been to 5 events that he has done and each one has had a different & unique set list catered to his audience. He is great at anticipating what kind of music will hype up the crowd, while also culturing us all. One event that I hired him for included music from all over the world, like India, Korea & Honduras, and from the 1950’s to the present. He is an expert in mixing his songs so that they’re clean & family friendly, without taking the «fun» out! HIRE HIM!

Hands down my favorite Dj, DJ Jovee did my 20th birthday party and had me dancing all night and he will do the same for anybody else no matter what there age is. He is a diverse DJ with music choices from House, 90’s, 80’s, Cumbia, and he will even throw it back to some Ella Fitzgerald and temptations with a flare mix to keep your feet moving o recommend him to everyone so hit him ASAP or your missing out

We had heard this DJ at another wedding and loved how the music went. Joe was very easy to get a hold of and was willing to meet my fiancé and I in a convenient location to us. He is extremely AFFORDABLE for everything that you get! Not only did he help guide the music throughout the ceremony, but was able to accommodate a keyboard we were bringing for a special song. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure the keyboard could be hooked up to the speakers and provided a microphone. All of the ceremony music was FLAWLESS.
Now to the reception… My fiancé and I wanted our wedding to be a huge party where everyone would have a good time; it was soooooo awesome! Everybody in the room was dancing! Music selection was great to keep the party going the whole time, and he was flexible with transitions in our schedule.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND 4TH SOIL MUSIC TO ANYONE FOR ANY PARTY, SPECIAL OCCASION, OR WEDDING.

When I have a party, I want to make sure everyone has a great time and that includes dancing! DJ Jovee is the best DJ in Los Angeles. I have used him for private parties and corporate parties. He never lets me down. I think what I like about him is he is prepared, on time, gets a feel for what I want and changes the music to adapt to the crowd. Its crazy because he plays orginal mixes that incorporates everything from hip-​hop and pop to rock and country. My favorite is his expertise in 90s hip-​hop. Will not disappoint! LOVE him!

Dj Joe is a professional, classy act. He comes with a ton of good music and knows how to seamlessly incorporate your DJ requests. We have used him over 3 times, and he is always prompt, creates a great environment, and continues to display a great repertoire with our various guests.
If you want a quality DJ with no drama, he is the best choice in Southern California, hands down!
