I highly recommend Dr. Bala for LASIK surgery. I love my new eyes! I was so tired of dealing with glasses and contact lenses every single day. Getting LASIK with Dr. Bala was truly the best decision I’ve made in a long time. Booking the appointment was hassle free. She was exceptionally professional and caring and answered the many questions I had about the process and really put me at ease. She is talented and excellent at what she does, all while being warm and approachable. I love being able to see clearly when I open my eyes in the morning — I would trust my eyes any day to Dr. Bala.

After having cataract surgery last month I would highly recommend Dr. Kandaval! Dr Kandaval is so professional and knowledgeable. He takes time to explain to you everything you will be going through and what your options are. The surgery itself was so easy, I am sorry I didn’t have it done sooner! I can now see as well as I did in my 20’s! No more reading glasses for me!

I gave a wonderful review for Dr. Kandavel last year and somehow it no longer is available to view. Just wanted to say again how pleased I am with my cataract surgery. The office is friendly and I always felt I was in good hands there. Dr. Kandavel explained everything about the surgery in a polite and informative manner. He’s just simply the best and I would recommend him and this office to anyone who is looking for quality care. Thank you Dr. Kandavel.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kandavel for all your vision needs. He is patient, caring and explains everything completely. I put off cataract surgery for several years because I was terrified my vision would get worse. Dr. Kandavel was reassuring and helped me make the decision at my own pace. We discussed every option and I never felt rushed or that my concerns were unreasonable. I have had both eyes done now and see better than I have since I was a teenager!!! I am very excited with my new eyes! Dr. Kandavel is my hero!!!

Very efficient office and friendly, helpful staff. Dr. Kandavel is so knowledgable and has a very calm, charming and reassuring manner. Apart from this, the Drs. Colvard and Kandavel are heroes, doing amazing eye procedures in the most desperate and disparate parts of the world… all gratis.

Cataract surgery was the final step in a year-​long ocular odyssey. My retinologist originally referred me to a different cataract surgeon. I wasn’t 100% happy with my experience there. A friend recommended Colvard-​Kandavel. From the very first call, I was much happier. The office staff is professional and friendly. Dr. Kandavel is also very courteous, professional and caring. I especially appreciated his candor in discussing my options with me, particularly those that aren’t covered by insurance. (I felt upsold by the first surgeon, not at all at Colvard-​Kandavel.) Kimberly, who schedules the procedures was wonderful. I’ve never had to wait long in the office and when I had some post-​op pain that concerned me, I went right over and saw Dr, Kandavel within 10 minutes. I couldn’t have had a better experience in their office or with the surgery.

I was so very lucky to have found Dr Kandavel and the Colvard-​Kandavel Eye Center when it was time to have my cataract surgery. I needed double cataract surgery at a fairly young age. Dr. Kandavel explained all of the options of the surgery and was most patient with my many questions! I had one eye done in November 2014 and the other eye done in December 2014. At 11:00 p. m at night, I thought that I saw something strange in the eye operated on. I called his exchange, and Dr. Kandavel called me right back assuring me everything I saw was normal. I apologized for calling so late, and he let me know that that was what he was here for.
My new eyesight is amazing. Dr. Kandavel is professional, kind, knowledgeable, and has exceeded all of my expectations. The staff at his office are very personable and go the extra mile for patient satisfaction.

Dr Lee is very a good doctor. I had my Chalazion incision. He talked to me during the procedure and made me very comfortable. After the procedure, he told me the steps to a speedy recovery. He is a very generous doctor and I recommend my friends to go to him. I am glad that he did my surgery.

I have several degenerative eye conditions, and I feel completely confident with my vision care since finding the gem among ophthalmologists – Dr. Rom Kandavel. I am a health professional yet must admit that I’m an overly anxious patient. It is challenging for me to find doctors that I respect and trust. Dr. Kandavel is highly skilled, professional, possesses an incredibly broad knowledge of the newest evidence-​based eye treatments, and a most kind and compassionate human being.

Yuck. I don’t know about Colvard, but Dr. Kandeval was a self-​important prick. He was condescending, self-​important and cared more about himself than helping me out as a patient who was in pain. They overbook routinely, I’ve heard. So I’m in an emergency situation, but had to wait for an hour, with a barb in my eyeball. If they couldn’t take me sooner, they could have said so, but instead they let me sit in the lobby for 30 minutes, then in a freezing cold room for another 30. Finally, I heard him outside my door talking to a lady about her pool, and how she could make it more eco-​friendly. I interrupted them, saying that I was in pain and waiting, and the momentary glint of righteous rage in his eyes was scary. He tried to play nice later, but the damage was done. I definitely «played» nice because he had the fate of my eyeballs in his hand, and after an hour of waiting, I couldn’t afford to leave and go someplace and try this again. Totally over a barrel.
I wear glasses and he asks me at the end of the exam, after he laughed (that’s comforting, a cruel chuckle) when he found the barb if I’ve ever had an eye exam before. No, I just found these prescription glasses on the street. It was meant to be a dig at me, because he somehow has never dealt with anyone in pain and couldn’t understand why someone with the anesthesia would wince when someone puts tweezers on your eyes. Had to ask for more numbing drops and if he told me to put my forehead and chin (that were solidly, crease-​formingy so pressed into the rails) on the rail one more time, I was going to scream.
When you are in pain and vulnerable and in somebody’s hands and they have all the power and you have none, this isn’t the guy you want to go to. He has no problem abusing his power at your expense. He does charity work abroad, but doesn’t seem that gracious in person, here in the States with paying patients.

Dr. Rom Kandavel is the best of the best!
He is honestly the best physican I have ever been to. He’s extremely compassionate and always makes me feel completely comfortable. He is always thoroughly informative and answers any questions I have.
…and the cherry on top, he has a great personality!
The office is always clean and the staff is nice. I have never experienced a long wait time for any of my appointments.

I have been going to Dr. Lintz for 4 years now. She absolutely thorough and Complete not to mention sweet and caring. Answering all my questions. She spends as much time as you need I highly recommend such a great Dr.
Ray Delatorre the visual fields expert is purely a diamond they have. He made the visual field test easy and less nerv racking. He stayed the whole time with me guiding me through with «great job» and «terrific focusing» .I have done this test before but nobody stayed with me or explained it So thoroughly. I now have less false positive results.
I highly recommend using him if you need visual fields.

Saw Dr. Colvard today. I am a health care professional myself and saw him because of a eye bleed under my conjunctivae. They squeezed me in today. I have been to Jules Stein institute and am on staff at UCLA. Michael Colvard is professional, knowledgeable, kind, precise, and thorough. This is a stellar eye center.

Went in to see Dr. Kandavol. He is fantastic! He is very patient, courteous and knowledgeable. My only problem with this place is the damn wait time. Try to get a morning appointment.

This is the best Eye Center in the greater Los Angeles area.

I agree with all of the previous reviews. Colvard Eye Center is extremely professional in how they care for the patients. Dr. Lee provides a sense of competence, highly skilled and experienced. The front office, while very busy, never demeans you or makes you feel like you are a nuisance. They are not money motivated as their first priority. Highly recommended.

I went to Colvard-​Kandavel eye center for a white bump underneath my eyelid that was causing me a lot of pain and irritation. I didn’t have an appointment and called in the morning for an appointment. Luckily, they were able to see me. I saw Dr. Lee and he examined and treated my issue. In a couple weeks my problem was resolved.
I also made a second appointment for an annual eye exam since I was long overdue for one. I saw Dr. Colvard, who was very warm, professional and thorough in his examinations. He answered all my questions and concerns. The office staff is also top-​notch! They were friendly and courteous.
The office is very neat, well maintained and comfortable. There is plenty of parking. The only downside is paying for parking. It’s $ 2.47/hr but I only come once or twice a year so it’s worth it for the service I received.
I highly recommend Colvard-​Kandavel eye center and have told many of my friends and family members to go there.

I was having extremely red eyes often that kept re-​occurring. I went to Colvard and Dr. Kandavel was able to diagnose me quickly and help me alleviate the nuisance.
I love it when doctors treat you like people and not just a number that comes though the door. Trust me, I go to a lot of doctors, and it means something when you get good customer service.
So if you are tired of doctors who don’t really see or hear you, try Dr. Kandavel. I always have a lot of questions and he answered them with patience and just explained everything to me so I knew everything that was going on. That way I knew the science of what was going on instead of, «Here, take your prescription and go.»
They also do lasik, and Dr. Kandavel is the way to go surgeon-​wise.
