General Optometry for all ages. We take most insurance plans including Medi-​Cal and Medicare. Doctors are theraputically certified to treat eye problems. Over 2000 frames in stock including hundreds of children’s frames. Licensed optician on duty every day.

History

Established in 1971.

In the present location since 2000. Dr. Harry Enenstein, Dr. Bill Durant and Optician Mike Snyder associated since 1980 in the Los Angeles area.

Awesome staff here! My visit was quick and didn’t have any unnecessary waiting. They have a really big selection of glasses to choose from, I was actually surprised that they have the brand and specific style that I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this place if you need an exam and are looking for some glasses!

So I’m a first timer coming to the optometric center. I must say they have the biggest selection of frames I’ve ever seen. From brands like Guess to Gucci to Tom ford, Prada, the choices were endless. The staff her took me in and treated me so well. Fast service and so friendly. The doctor took care of me so well. Mike was so helpful when selecting a frame for me. Nicest guy I ever met. Without a doubt I will be coming here from now on. Thank you OCE!

I wouldn’t go anywhere else for glasses. Everyone here is so nice and helpful. Mike worked with me to find glasses that not only fit my face but also my budget. They have a HUGE selection of all shapes, colors, prices, and brands. It was so easy to find a perfect pair.

Disappointed… My family and I have been going here for 3 – 4 years now and today was just a major disappointment. Had a 11 o’clock appointment and my daughter and I left after an hour waiting. Nobody came to apologize or explain the long wait until 50 minutes when I asked at the counter. Onto the next. Sad but will not be returning.

Been coming here for 3– 4 years now. Both doctors are great and you can always trust Mike in getting the right frames that fit your face. The place is clean and the staff is nice. The doctors always explain what’s going on with your eyes and offer rebates whenever they are available. There is parking. Never had a problem finding a spot.

For sport/​high performance/​motorcycle sunglasses these guys are the best in Los Angeles! I purchased «wrap-​around sunglasses» that are very clever: they have a detachable elastic cord to secure to your face for (motorcycling skiing windsurfing etc) and they have a detachable gasket creating a seal between the glasses and your face if needed to keep dust and dirt out. Lastly they are anti-​ballistic and are certified for construction work with Z8 standards! Try walking in to any other store in Los Angeles and finding umpteen different pairs of this description in stock to try on right there and then for a perfect fit!
How can glasses peddlers expect us to spend a few hundred dollars in the Internet with out even trying them on?
If you want pro glasses this is THE place!

Everyone here was really friendly. I had an appointment for 3pm and even though they were running a little late they were super cool about it. The staff was really friendly and the doctor was super nice. He made a lot of really corny jokes (and I loved all of them) and made me feel really comfortable. The whole process was actually really pleasant and I highly recommend this place to anyone who is in search of a new optometrist.
PS I didn’t actually buy glasses from them (already had a pair without lenses I wanted to use) but they have a pretty wide selection

Been coming here yearly for 15 years and have had an overall excellent experience. Dr.‘s Durant and Enenstein have been very warm and caring, and Mike is like the Optician guru.
I have bought Prada sunglasses and have looked at Armani, Porsche, Ray Ban, Chanel, Ferragamo and other designer frames. They take my insurance, do not try to oversell you and have corrected errors from the factory, like missing tint or anti-​glare, without any question. They will always offer their opinion in a helpful manner and adjust your frames if you need to have it done.
This is a true family-​run business and it’s always a pleasure to come.

I went in yesterday for an eye exam. Very friendly doctor and staff. I was in and out in enough time to get back to work on time. It was my first time wearing contacts and they were very patient with me. Overall, the experience was great. Will go back when it’s time for my next appointment.

After going to this shopping center for years as a local I decided to give this place a shot. Walked in without an appointment and was pleasantly surprised when I was told they could take me in. After a 15 min wait I was seen by a doctor who took his time and answered all my questions.
The front desk girls were also very friendly and positive, they even helped me choose and purchase a pair of sunglasses, and after hearing I had a trip coming up on that weekend they rush delivered my order!
Highly recommend this place.

I am a big fan of Optometric Center of Encino. There is a true family feeling as soon as you walk inside. Everyone from the office staff (especially Parissa) to Dr. Durant and Mike really know how to make their patients feel cozy and comfortable.
Their wide selection of glasses and flexibility with different vision plans and insurances really make this clinic your #1 spot on for optometry services. There is excellent parking and the location is conveniently located in the heart of Encino, on Ventura Blvd.
The staff speaks English, Spanish and Farsi… and Dr. Durant really knows how to use his medical terminology in Farsi!
