Tony Yoo’s L A Taekwondo Center

I have attended Tony Yoo’s Tae Kwon Do Center for over 9 years regularly, from the age of 8 till almost 18. Being 23 now, I still always remember all the training and lessons on respect and life Mr. and Mrs. Yoo along with my peers taught me. So I can say from personal experience that it is an excellent and worthy studio to train either yourself or to bring your kids to. Before signing up when I was a kid myself, we did homework on a few places and this studio won hands down. The two earlier negative reviews are probably from parents who want their kids to attend a washed up low-​end/​cheap martial arts school where they give the most minimal learning experience, which makes no sense if you care about actually learning the art. While they are respectful here, get ready to learn and train, because they are professionals and you want to be one too. I am proud that I’ve earned my Black Belt at Tony Yoo’s, and the self-​discipline along with integrity has transferred well for me in the military lifestyle I now have, in case that is also a plan for you. Thumbs up.

My son (10 yo) has been attending Tony Yoo’s LATC for almost 3 years. We checked out several studios in the area before choosing LATC and are thoroughly satisfied. The instructors are very focused on ensuring the safety, personal growth, and technical skills of all students at all ages (tiny kids to adults). My son has been challenged and encouraged at every stage. He is very comfortable at LATC, but never settles for «good enough» and is always striving to achieve because he is highly motivated by the instructors and his classmates.

Mr and Mrs Yoo have successfully put together a studio which meets and exceeds all your needs in martial arts. After years of my son attending classes, Mr Yoo has worked with him to the black belt level He feels the studio is like his home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

After 10 years of training I can safely say that both Mr. And Mrs. Yoo give outstanding instruction no matter the learners age or experience. Nothing can beat years of experience. 5 stars.

I have had an awesome experience at Tony Yoo’s LATC. Mr. Yoo is a highly skilled and highly knowledgeable instructor. He is disciplined but very agreeable, and he offers his students exactly the kind of feedback they need to make continued progress. I actually tried out several martial arts studios before settling here. I chose Tony’s studio because of the high-​quality training activities that he has formulated. Even after eight months, I am still surprised by the innovative routines that Mr. Yoo creates to hone our TKD, and improve our balance, strength, conditioning and coordination. The studio is also very clean, was recently repainted, and has a very large mat that was recently replaced. I took my first 2 classes for twenty dollars and was hooked. I then took classes over the summer and I have been renewing my membership since. I actually started classes here with an pre-​existing anxiety problem. I have since largely recovered and I credit the people at Tony Yoo’s, the friendliness, and the camaraderie there. All of the instructors are thoughtful, considerate and easy-​going. They come up with very challenging exercises, with a lot of variation, which keeps things interesting. Mr. Yoo, Mrs. Yoo, and Mr. Krueger are excellent teachers, and it’s pretty clear that both the adults and children admire and appreciate them.

I have been a student of Taekwondo for 11 years now and i have trained in most of the studios up and down Ventura Blvd through my career, and i pick Master Yoo’s because the dojo is bigger than most other places, with a gym, weights, and two showers for its members.
He is more than a teacher to me, he is my mentor and my hero.
I have made life-​long friends at this studio and i have witnessed staggering personal growth with-​in the students, especially with the little tigers.
No other program offers 360 degree approach to mental and physical toughness. If you are looking for the best opportunity for your kids, strongly consider Tony Yoo’s.

My 4 year old son goes to school across the street from Yoo’s and so I happened upon it one day and am so glad we found it. A great, friendly place and they’ve done a remarkable job helping my son learn the discipline of a martial art, to focus and to have fun doing it. Santi loves Mr. Kreuger and although Mrs. Yoo is a bit stern at times, she really does it as a way of teaching them and it works! The other parents are all very nice as well and welcoming. I’d recommend it to anyone with kids in the area!

Tony Yoo is a complete dick! Do not patronize this place. There are karate studios on every corner in the sfv, this should be the last one you check out. Better yet just check out a book from the library, it wll give you much better instruction than tony poo!

This place is the worst. The owner is rude and aggressive. I would not let my children anywhere near this place.
