White Magnolia

I’ve been living at White Magnolia since August and have had a great experience so far. All my neighbors are very personable and we always greet each other in the hallway and lobby. Kristi and Bridget go out of their way to make sure everything is taken care of and the staff is very friendly. My unit is modern, stylish and spacious. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is a wonderful feature. The building also organizes tenant events from time to time. We’ve had a wine and cheese night, a pizza and beer night and now I’m waiting for a bagels and cream cheese brunch!

I’ve looked at apartments all over LA for the past three months and love this building! It has great floor plans, a very cool rooftop deck, a nice fitness center and is brand new. The onsite management team is friendly and responsive.

I’m looking to move to the area and drove by their open house sign. Building looks great from the outside. Actual apartments and management need improvement. Guest parking is also a must and is not available. I wish the girls in the leasing office would been a bit warmer when I came to get info. Too bad for them I just leased a different apartment in Encino.

I have been living here for about 4 months now and it’s been a mixed experience. The building is new and clean with a modern style. Unfortunately that’s where the class ends, the management company and the manager kristi are arrogant and rude. Instead of making the environment feel like a community it’s made to feel like a dictatorship ruled by ignorant and classless individuals. This apartment is very expensive and I expect to be treated with a certain amount of respect and this is not the case. If I could leave zero stars I would but it’s not possible.

I lived at White Magnolia for 3 months with my Friend bit I wished it was 6 years. That place is amazing! I love having friends over for BBQs and the shared gym. They are very friendly and the leasing office was extremely nice and helpful. I always got my maintenance problems taken care of right away. They were always great with calling me back and answering any questions that I had. If you’re looking for a good place to live with a nice and well-​kept community, look no further.

Today I stopped by with my little sister because there was an «Open House» sign out. Oddly the «leasing office» is actually a tiny closet on the second floor called the management office? It was odd but only to find out the only «manager» was on lunch so I didn’t mind to wait the 30 min in the lobby. When she did arrive and go up to the office I followed after 2pm to not bother her last 10 minutes of her lunch. As it came time to go up the only working elevator was padded I’m assuming it’s for the new renters moving in to not damage the elevators walls! As I approached the closet a small RUDE woman says «yesssssss» and I asked if it was the leasing office (again it said management and all the signs outside said leasing office not management!) and she replied yes. So as I went into the closet I asked for quotes and what not and asked the price currently for a two bedroom two bath. She stated 3500. And I said okay! She then looked at me weird and stated «it’s 3500 is that okay? Is that in your price range?» I felt like she looked at me like I was poor! No offense idiot I’m a mechanical Engineer working at an Aerospace company! I make and test explosives for the U.S. Army what makes you think I cannot afford this? I bet you can’t even afford this, what the hell man. But I do understand that I am young and some people may underestimate me because of that, but IM STILL A POTENTIAL RENTER! Your rudeness does not go unnoticed. Otherwise I would have said no! From there she would hardly make eye contact and I find that really rude because eye contact is a sign of respect when conversing with someone else! Lastly when she agreed to take us to a model she walked SUPER fast and did not want to talk with us. When we did enter the model apartment she got on her phone and leaned against the kitchen counter! She then called someone and started talking in her language with someone in the middle of showing us the unit like whhhhhat? Then I asked her if there was a dryer and washer in unit and she nodded and said its there and pointed! WOW! She didn’t bother to show us any amenities or offer us any more information! I asked if it was individual water and power meters and she was confused? LADY you work here why don’t you understand the question! It literally was horrible. She was texting the entire time and was on the phone and was rude! I’m a huge hot head but I kept myself from not looking ridiculous because of this moron! All I can say is that this tiny woman with blonde hair really tested me today!!! Now why the hell would I want to move into this apartment complex with shit customer service like this? Not to mention the fact that is was such little square feet for the amount wanted and I’m sorry it wasn’t a pretty apartment either. And to top it off how rude she was just totally ruined everything. I only like that it’s close to trader joes! I know it’s a new apartment complex but I give it 2 – 3 years before it becomes total shit like the ones surrounding it!

Let me start off by saying this building is beautiful, brand new, and exceptional staff in the leasing office. The owner did an amazing job with the construction of this building by choosing the best and high quality materials and appliances. My sister and I moved in early November. Before we moved in, I visited the property several times alone. I went by myself just to check out the new building since my lease was almost up at the place I was living in before. Giving your ID and filling out a visitor card is standard procedure with any apartment building with a leasing office. I really liked what I saw. My sister then went to see the apartment. She loved it. We then went back together. Each time we were greeted and treated with the utmost respect. Derrick, Shane and Andrew were extremely helpful and easy to work with. I emailed with a million questions, before and after we moved, and they patiently and promptly answered everything. Moss & Company is a great management company. Not to mention, the neighbors are very friendly. Highly recommend it. I love coming home every single day.

Today, I stopped by the Open House to take a look in person during my lunch break. I experienced the folllowing: After entering the lobby no signs on elevator or in lobby telling you where the leasing office is. The sign is on the outside door. The door is open making it near impossible to read. Once I finally found where to go, I found a tiny closet office with 6 casually dressed men with their backs to me. This was my welcome. Tenant files were all over the floor in boxes & hanging loose in an unsecured manner. Anyone could walk in and remove a file and have the very personally identifiable information of prospective tenants at their finger tips. Nothing was protecting these records from being accessed by anyone walking in. I said hello, only one of the six men looked back at me. The poorly dressed young man barely introduced himself before asking me to manually fill out a card. I told him no. I want a tour, it’s an Open House, I should be able to view the apts without leaving my personal information with a bunch of people unwilling to secure it carefully. Clearly this experience managed by Moss Realty is an indication of the poor management of the new building to come. First impressions are lasting. It was not a friendly, hospital open house. They’re not interested in leasing or customer service. They seem only interested in what they want. This is a bad sign. The rents are not cheap at all. You would think the service level would be exceedingly friendly. Be aware of this place. They clearly are unwilling to give even the slightest due diligence to protecting your personal information with all the folders laying all over the floor in boxes. No locks, no drawers, no privacy protection, no data security. No indication of professionals present at the Open House! When I told the guy no, I would not fill out a physical card to see the appt when I can view it online. He refused to show me the apt. lol… Thank goodness there’s a gluttony over priced apts on the market. Stay away…
