Humanex Academy is a private, alternative middle and high school which provides a structured and supportive environment for students with a wide variety of learning, behavioral, and emotional needs. Our primary elements – an academic curriculum which accommodates each student’s current abilities, extensive counseling support, and a solution-​focused, empathy based approach to behavior management – are the mainstays of our school and have allowed us to help numerous young people become confident and productive adults since 1983. The only program of its kind in the Denver area, Humanex Academy works with students who have been diagnosed with or thought to have learning disabilities, Asperger’s disorder, twice-​exceptional learning, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and many other unique needs.

Meet the Business Owner

Dan T.

Business Owner

Dan is Head of School at Humanex Academy. He has worked in special education 29 years as a teacher, dean and administrator and spent a large portion of his career at Denver Academy until the opportunity to lead Humanex. He holds a degree in Special Education as well as a teaching license, and has specialized certifications in computer systems. He is currently finishing up a Master’s in Administration and Supervision through Arizona State University.
