Completely frustrated with this company. We have used WM for the last 5 years. In the past 2 months, we have had 5, yes, FIVE missed trash or recycling. We are starting to wonder what we pay them for. My 1 (almost 2) year old son has been in love with watching your hard workers and their awesome trucks. We had a gift for our trash man and card made by my son for Christmas. We kept getting skipped and forgotten, promised pick ups the next day, and we never connected with our guy, talk about a broken hearted kid, he finally stopped waiting by the door on Friday to see his buddy. It’s a joke. We called this week about a missed recycling pickup, only to be told they were scheduled to do a pickup for us the next day… though we hadn’t yet called to do that. They said they would be out the next day and we could stick all of our accumulated recycled items out there. After they failed to show, we called again, only to be told they had no record of a pickup scheduled, and now we have to wait another 3 days for pick up. Making it a full 10 days late. That is, if they show. This is our last straw with them. We will never use WM again, and will make sure to let everyone we know how unhelpful they are. We were told twice that our trash wasn’t out for pickup, when in fact it’s out at 6 am (they pick up between 11am and never) every single Friday. And we have neighbors who can attest to that. They are starting to get frustrated with the length of time our trash or recycling is constantly being out in our neighborhood. They don’t need to worry anymore, we are changing service this week. Please, WM, get your act together, get your people on the same page, and do your dang job. It’s a dirty job, but we pay you to do it, just as you pay others to do their jobs. We’ve had enough, and hope that others read this article so they don’t make the mistake we did by using your company. One star is a joke. Wish we could do no stars.

Honestly, I don’t know how this place is still in business. It took them several weeks to deliver our garbage & recycle bins. We must have made over half a dozen calls to them regarding the non-​delivery and they kept telling us we’d have them in 1 – 2 business day. We finally received them nearly 3 weeks after our initial call and were even charged an arm and a leg for the delivery. Really??? A good company would waive the fees just for their incompetence. We stuffed as many trash bags as we could fit (remember, we have 3 weeks of trash piled up at this point) and put them out at the curb for pick-​up the next morning. They never came to get them! Several calls and several days later, they finally came to pick them up. Then they had the nerve to leave our trash can sitting about 2 – 3 feet from the curb. I pulled up as the mailman was getting out to move them so he could do his job! WTF. They leave the lid on the cans open every single time so when it rains or snows, you (the customer) have to lay the can down to empty it out. What are we paying you guys for? Customer service does not give two sh! tz about you either. This is the most unprofessional company I’ve ever had to deal with. I should have read all the reviews before signing up for service. It seems these are common complaints from many. We’re done with them and I advise you to stay away and save yourself the headache!

So these folks keep forgetting to pick up my trash. Have to call them and they do indeed come. A day or two later. This is ridiculous — their management is not doing their job.

Horrible experience with WM because they missed several pickups. Will never use again. High prices too. I am in the process of trying to cancel services and wow what a frustrating process that has been. I have «scheduled» final pick ups 4 times now and I still have all my trash and bins! Going on three weeks now! I have been trying to escalate to management, with no luck. I have no idea what to do now.
Don’t waste your time with Waste Management.

I’ve been using them for a year now but in the last few months they have missed my pick up on various occasions and now it’s time for a change.

They don’t pick up the recycle on scheduled days. Typical to have to call and beg for pick up, next day. Today was told maybe they’ll come today, or tomorrow— supposed to pick up yesterday. My stuffs sitting on my grass getting rained on for two days now. Can’t put it away— cause they MIGHT COME!!!

4 requests for new cans and still no cans for new service. When I called today there was still no record of my request. You guys need to get a better trackable request system and you need to expedite requests when you fail your customers.

I have used Waste Management for several years now. i use to change over to a smaller company that charged less but they would get bought out by WM or there price would just go up. so I gave up and just stuck with WM. they some times would drop trash and leave it. not dump all of my cans, and leave me notes saying can was too heavy even though i have there canisters that hook up to there hydraulics.
i Now just bought a gagster for? $ 30 at home depot it cost $ 100 to pick up. and when they did try they said a car was parked in the way. I was not home they say they called but apparently they had my prefix (303) wrong and used (203). now i must pay a reschedule fee of $ 50. per 2 neighbors say no cars have been parked there. now to top it off when i spoke to manage Jessica or Jennifer she hung up on me.

I’ve had Waste Management «service» for about six weeks and cancelled today. The one star is for their customer service department, who no doubt receives call after call of really pissed off customers, and still manages to be pleasant. If only they could actually help, but it’s like there is no relationship between customer service and dispatch. The answer was always «We’ll try to…» but they have no influence.
I didn’t get my bins until after the first pickup, when I only left a couple of bags out because I didn’t even know if they would know to pick up without them. Tried to reschedule but was told they couldn’t, and the driver then refused our next pickup — two weeks of trash that had been in my shed because I didn’t have bins. I missed a recycling pickup a couple weeks later and tried to reschedule, and was told to leave my bin out, but they couldn’t promise it would be picked up or give me an estimated pickup date. Then I get a bill for $ 50 three weeks after I’ve paid for quarterly service and when I ask about it, customer service says the initial amount I paid was just a «prepaid» amount.
Today I canceled service and emptied the trash and recycling bins and put them into my shed, because they wouldn’t do their scheduled pickup this Friday after I cancelled my service. The recycling bin was especially less than fun to unload, as the last pickup was missed (which I paid for service for), and it was just full of mixed recyclables, not bags. I would’ve left them in there with a note saying they were supposed to have picked it up, but suspected they would dump it in my driveway. Seems fitting that both the beginning and end of my service with them ended up with un-​picked-​up trash in my sheds — very telling.
They suck — don’t waste your money.

This is now the second time WM has failed to pick up our trash. Their solution is for me to leave my trash curbside for three days and hope they pick up. Absolutely unacceptable. I called and spoke with a rep. and they don’t even have the business sense to offer a discount since this has happened to us repeatedly. If it happens again we will find new service.

I think it’s this company’s policy for their drivers to always drive in the left lane. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stuck behind one going much less than the posted speed limit in the leftmost lane — often in times of heavy traffic.
Oh yeah, their trash service sucks, too. And they’re way overpriced. They don’t even try to compete with their competition and I have no idea how they stay in business with such high prices and poor service. It must be that they’re extorting people like the NYC mafia to subsidize their revenue.

Terrible company. Charge more and then do not provide the service. They will claim our cans are not at the curb and won’t pick up. Every time I complain they «stand by their employees’ but tell me they will come the next day. NEVER SHOW UP
Told them I was canceling my account because of how BAD their service is and they said they do not issue refunds so they will just keep my quarterly payment.

Horrible customer service. Called 6 times. Six different people. Had to explain the same problem 6 times and I am still looking at the recycling in my driveway. They are either blind or lying but either way you get lip service. Not results. Find somebody else.

How can a buisness «forget» to come get my trash? Third time it has happened. Don’t bother calling to complain. Stay on hold for. Thirty minutes only to have them give you the runaround

Two weeks in a row now they failed to pick up my trash without warning or explanation. They have no problem taking my money, though.

I’ve had 6 weeks of service and already I have to agree– they are the Comcast of trash & recycling! I’ll give them a little bit of credit, they are at least a tad easier to get a hold of and make corrections.
First off, I could have sworn they told me the wrong week of recycling when I first signed up. Either that, or at some point it switched my week because all of a sudden they missed a service. I called and they said I was on the wrong week, but again I swear I had recycling pickup 2 weeks prior. I thought I was losing it. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I wait another week and leave out my very full recycling receptacle and THEY DON’T PICK IT UP again. On the phone they tell me I didn’t leave it out– couldn’t be more incorrect. In fact, it was side by side touching the trash that they DID remove. Weird. They get some redemption points for coming back out a few hours after I complained. When the guy came back out he did take some extra boxes I had that didn’t fit, which I appreciated.
But the worst and most Comcast-​like aspect of WM is the confusing bill that you will need to watch like a hawk. Got my first bill and about fell over. Almost $ 200 in charges for less than 3 mos of service. There were 3 separate $ 30 charges I didn’t understand plus several admin fees that were never mentioned when signing up. I talked to a lady who was somewhat sympathetic and did remove some of the charges, several of which WERE errors. I appreciated that but lost a lot of faith after the ‘accidental’ fees.
My question is, who else am I supposed to use? Need Lakewood recommendations!

Waste Management, you missed my trash for the last time this week. My trash cans were on the curb by 7am as always, and when I got home from work, they were still sitting there full. I called your office and was told it would be eighty dollars to schedule a missed-​trash pickup. I resisted the urge to debate, argue, curse and scream with the inept gal on the phone, as I knew it would get no results except to raise my blood pressure and make the veins in my neck stand out.
I called another company, and a friendly customer service gal signed me up with their trash pickup service. I asked her, «Do you get a lot of people calling you because they’re sick of Waste Management?» and she laughed and said, «I probably shouldn’t say.» ‘Nuff said.
Waste Management is a company based in Houston, Texas. In my younger days I would have invoked m, y professional skills to investigate and report their company for violations to various agencies, but my time is valuable and it’s pretty obvious that eventually they will get caught and fined heavily. In the meantime, I strongly urge everyone to choose a different company to pick up the weekly household trash, unless you welcome the opportunity to return home to missed trash pickups.

We used this company for 30 years at our home before tiring of the high prices and fuel surcharges.
On the plus side, they do show up and they do take away your garbage as long as you keep paying the ever increasing bill. They do recycle.
Bad news: price is double what the competition charges — fuel surcharge goes back maybe 25 years and amounts to 20% of your bill. It’s garbage removal! Why pay double to have someone take away the waste you don’t want anymore?

Waste Management is useless. When I moved into my home, it took over a month from the time I began paying for service before I finally received my bins. Well, before I received one bin, the recycling bin came weeks later. Customer service couldn’t provide an explanation either. Now I am moving and canceled my service, was told my bins would be picked up 2 days ago, I guess I’m just supposed to leave them on the curb and hope for the best. Terrible.

We have used WM for almost 4 years in Wheat Ridge, and although the service is decent for the most part, their billing tactics are super suspect. When I first started service, the bill for 3 months was around $ 85. They have continuously raised the fees over and over until now its nearly $ 115 for three months.
On top of that, they always add random administration fees and other nuisance charges that force me to have to call and complain. Then, when you call them, their customer service is lack-​luster i-​could-​give-​a-​damn about your problem.
TLDR; I feel like I’m dealing with the Comcast of trash companies every time I get my bill. Ridiculous!
