Freds Towing

Called to have a car towed from i-​90. Asked around how much the total cost would be and I was told «around $ 300.» I figured that was within my price range and cheaper than me driving home and picking it up myself the next day. So we went ahead and had them tow it. When they got it back home they said the total cost would be $ 560. Almost twice as much as what I had initially been told! Called back and the guy completely denied that he said $ 300 to begin with. If you want to get ripped off then this is the place to go!

My current experience with Fred’s was very unprofessional. When I called I was hurried off the phone saying that they were trying to do 10 things at once and when he called me back I was asked who was going to pay for the towing to send my car to the place that I had asked. When I said either our insurance or us but rest assured he would be paid he let me know that he was going to take our car to the location we asked between 1 and 2pm. When the body shop called at 2pm to say that the car was not there they said that they called and Fred’s was not planning on taking my car there and that they had to find another company to tow it from Fred’s tow yard. If he would have let us know that originally we could have had our car to the body shop in time for review before the weekend.

Very unprofessional! Police report is being written up now! When the vehicle was picked up from Fred’s there were BEER CANS in the car and couldn’t even make it a block without it dying. Come to find out that 3 parts were taken from the engine bay.
WARNING DO NOT USE FRED’S TOWING!

We had a motorcycle with a flat tire. The first driver who came out said he couldn’t do it with the flat bed, they needed a wrecker and it would be there in about 20 minutes.
An hour and a half later when I called to see what was going on, I was told the driver had been there, no one was available to help, and with my saddle bags it couldn’t have been done etc. I was there the whole time, would have been happy to remove the saddle bags if they were a problem. So they lied and then called me a liar.
If they didn’t want to tow it, fine, but someone should’ve told me so I could get it to the repair shop before they closed for the weekend. LAME.
