Specialties

We know you would like to take your pet with you, but when you can’t, leave him with us. We will take good care of your Special Friend.

When your pet stays at our home, he becomes part of our family. All of us love him, play with him and take care of him. Your pet sleeps in the Doggy Dorm on a Kuranda bed or his own bed or blanket. The facility is heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer months.

History

Established in 1975.

Demi Lowry started A Lov-in Touch (ALT) in Boulder, CO in 1975. Demi’s innate sense of responsibility and a passion to care for all God’s creatures inspired her to start ALT. ALT began as a part-time endeavor when Demi was a high school teacher, visiting pets in their homes during holidays and summers.

In 1998, ALT moved to its present location in Erie, CO. Demi’s vision was to build a cozy pet care facility that offers a total peace of mind to loving pet owners.

ALT promotes the ultimate in pet care and has all employees pass the Level 1 Canine Coordinator Training Program. ALT is located directly on site, adjacent to Demi’s personal residence, offering constant 24-hour supervision.

Meet the Business Owner

Demi L.

Business Owner

Demi was born and raised in the mid-West. She always remembers having a love for all animals and was known to bring home a variety of stray dogs. Her first dog, and best buddy, was named Stitches.

After moving to Colorado, Demi taught physical education in high school for many years while running a pet-sitting business during the holidays and summers. She also raised two boys, Matt and Nick, who grew up working at A Lov-in Touch. Her pet-sitting business became so successful, that she decided to open up her own facility. Demi has always worked with rescue groups, fostering many dogs in her own home and at ALT. She has adopted four of her fosters, Bob, Brock, Peyton, and Snoopy.

Her love of animals extends to horses as well, and currently owns Koda, a fox trotter, and JoDee, a quarter horse. Koda and JoDee like to greet all of our doggy parents upon arrival.

She has enjoyed 17 years in the Erie area caring for both dogs and cats, and hopes to continue for many years to come.
