I guess I’ll have to give this place another try. I’ve heard that their street tacos are awesome, so maybe I need to try that. Birria tacos — chunks were so huge that it was hard to eat it. I couldn’t even bite through it. Flavor was mediocre. California burrito — I confirmed that it came with pico, sour cream, and guacamole. When we opened it, it had none of the above! It has the fries, meat, and cheese. With that being said, it was the driest cali burrito ever. Had to drench in sauce. Smh. Cheese quesadilla — can’t really mess that up. My little one loved it. The salsa bar was pretty cool. They had red/green sauce. They also had the usual pickled carrots, and limes. They even had pickled onions and cucumbers… score!!! Major plus! Next time, I’ll just try the street tacos.

I think the burritos are very good. They would receive 5 stars but I don’t love their two salsas. Wish they had a green avocado style salsa. Salsas weren’t bad at all, just not my style.

By far the best taco place in Escondido. So affordable and the street tacos taste so good. It is also under new management so the service is much better. You can sit down and they will take your order and serve it to you. They give you free chips and salsa for appetizer. Mon-Thurs they have specials and during Tuesdays it’s only $ 0.99 for tacos and some other stuff in the menu. Place is small but very good service.

When we have visitors in from out of town we like to bring them here for the best and cheapest hole in the wall mexican food in Escondido. This family owned place is like having dinner at a friend’s place. They are very friendly and the food is as good and fresh as anything you’ll find in town. The green salsa that comes with the chips is amazing and super spicy. I would seriously eat here all the time if it wasn’t a strange thing to do.

They have fresh hand made corn tortillas for combo plates. Great salsas, and $ 1 tacos, this was my first time here and I will be coming back!

Simply put, it is too expensive for what it is. The beans and rice were flavorless. Almost 12 bucks for a soda and a taco plate. With no soda fountain for refills you would have to pay for another soda once you used the first one to help swallow the mediocre food.

They use to be good. But know there food is dry and it’s tacos hardly have any meat. Owners/elderly woman is not friendly at all(they made a mistake on my order and she seem pretty upset at me) I offer to pay for the xtra taco they had to make but the cashier said it was ok. elder lady wasn’t very happy., employee are nice, thats the only reason I give it a star :)

Came here about 2 years ago and tried just a cheese enchilada. I remember it as being pretty good, and made an effort get back today. To my surprise and disappointment, they would not serve me an enchilada. I was ordering a taco al pastor and a cheese enchilada. When she said the enchilada could only come with a $ 8 combo plate, I asked if I could have two enchiladas, sans the rice and beans. The young gal responded that the combo comes with three and that is the only way to get it. I told her that I didn’t want to spend that much money, paused for a response that didn’t happen, and walked out. Kinda funny, because at the bottom of their menu it says something to the effect that«if you don’t see something on the menu, let us know and we will make it for you!» All I wanted was goddamn enchilada. Food can suffer but service can kill. Too bad Anita.

Well I pulled in late one night but they were still open. I ordered a Bean and Cheese and Rice burrito, because I was starving and being healthy wasn’t going to satisfy. I had been to the gym before running a few errands and was still in gym shorts and an under armour shirt so the guy at the counter asked if I was trying to be healthy(great, rub it in thanks) and said that the bean and cheese burrito was probably not the best choice for that, mainly because of the cheese he said. I am very conscious of what I put in my belly, but his attempt at trying to thwart my decision failed to win my rationalization that the protein and fiber in the beans would make up for it. This was my only experience here. The burrito came quick, it was rolled up to be kind of long and skinny. I suppose if you calculated volume, it would be about the same size as any other typical hole in the wall burrito place, but by presentation, it seemed a little weak due to the lack of burrito width. Taste was ok, I wouldn’t travel across town for a bean and cheese burrito from this place, but if you happen to be driving down mission or filling up gas at united oil and don’t want to leave that immediate area, then go for it. I can’t comment on their other selections, and I probably will go to my other mexican food places first. I wouldn’t not come here, there are just too many other places that are either more convenient or that I’m just used to. I wanted to try this place, and that is what I did.

Its a mom and pops restaurant, the whole family works there, SO you know you get great customer service, better believe it! By far one of the most impressive and tasty street tacos I have HAD. Taste the carne asada sopes– well worth it! They sell Aquas frescas too! Strawberry and many more!

I have eaten 1,000snd of street tacos from ensanada to La and these are buy far the best I have ever tasted! I have not orderd anything else from this spot except from the taco cart they have outside on Friday-Sunday only, but those tacos… man are they amazing! I was driving by and saw and smelled this joint and had to stop and boy am I glad I did! It is a family run shop and the owner(I think) is the one who makes the tacos. He is super cool and pretends to understand what I am saying :) I love, love, love the adobada pork tacos that he shaves fresh off the spit and assembles them before your eyes. Grease dipped corn tortillias, onions, cilantro and some kind of hot sauce, a little salt and some fresh lime with that jucy delicious pork is magical! I am kina groosed out by undesireable parts of any meat. ie fat, cartilage, bones, connetive tissue, tendons and such. Much to my suprise they are super lean and I have yet to find any of that stuff which is rare when it comes to street tacos. They have tounge(lengua), goat(barria), chorizo(sasuage), cabesa(cow head), carne(beef) and my new favorite besides the pork sauderreo(i think it is beef). The taco chef will let you taste everything and explain to you what it is. Wash it all down with a mordello or Jarritos! They are super cheap and you pay after you are done stuffing you face. They even taste better than the ones you eat drunk after stumbling out of Atalita’s late night in TJ. Best tacos ever!
