We are a preschool and WASC accredited Kindergarten through 12^th grade school serving Christian families. Calvin’s teachers are expert teachers holding credentials or a Masters degree in the area they teach. The preschool enrolls children age 2 through 5, with a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate, which means that the whole child is considered. The K-​12 school offers a full performing arts curriculum that includes music beginning in Kindergarten, band beginning in 5^th grade and choir 6^th through 12^th. Calvin Christian High School has a strong theater and athletics program.

History

Established in 1961.

Guided by that verse and a strong commitment to Christian education, members of the Christian Reformed Church of Escondido decided to create a Christian school for their children and others from Christian families around north San Diego county. In August of 1960, plans for a school building were approved. As 1961 began, so did construction. After much hard work and personal sacrifice, Calvin Christian School opened its doors on September 5, 1961. The school’s early curriculum stressed the fundamentals of education and Bible teaching. Music and Athletics made up part of the school day as well. From the beginning, students received a well-​rounded, quality education. About 20 years after the doors opened, Calvin Christian High School began the school year on September 8, 1980.
