Got my smog cert here in Jan ’12, fast, fair price, took my coupon, no problemo. Tried to get another cert there this week & even though there was nobody else there, I was told the regular price is $ 75, which is WAY more than last time. I showed him my $ 20 off online coupon, and he said the best he could do was $ 65. I left.

I called before coming in and was told that the regular smog check price for my car would be $ 60, including certificate. I didn’t mention a coupon. This was supposedly on a recorded line, so it can be verified. When I went to this test station I was told that the regular price for my car would be $ 80 but with my coupon it would be $ 60, which was $ 25 off the regular price (that math doesn’t work). Someone here is lying. I left. This place may be competent and courteous based on other reviews I’ve read but based on my experience they are not ethical. I advise strong caution!

I got my renewal from the DMV and this time it included the dreaded SMOG check. Not sure why that annoys me so much, but I thought I better get it taken care of as I need my car to get to work and all.
Looking through the ads, I found EP Smog which basically does Smog checks only. This is a nice little shop. There is an owner and 2 employees that are very efficient. I was in and out in about 40 minutes (2 people were ahead of me), so that wasn’t bad at all.
The service was friendly and they have an outdoor patio with chairs and a TV, so it makes the time go by fast.
There are coupons in the Penny Saver as well, so my bill came to about 45 bucks for a 4 cylinder car.
If you want reliable service that you can trust, this is a great place to go.
