I have been an amateur coin collector for a couple of years and have recently dabbled in silver and gold. They are very knowledgable and friendly here. Also, fair with their prices for both buying and selling. I am always greeted and taken care of as soon as I walk through the door. Highly recommend doing business here.

I went in with a long list of coins I needed to fill empty slots in an album. I was given a chair to sit down and sort through all their dimes. Then boxes of nickels came out and I was in heaven! All their coins are sorted and graded so it’s very easy to find what you want. They’re so friendly and I’m looking forward to going back soon!

I don’t use this place to sell anything because I’m a boarder line hoarder and I don’t need to, but I do collect some coins and precious metals, the silver bullion is very competitive in price but don’t expect a large variety, mostly the basics in here like eagles, maples, and generic rounds/​bars. The US numismatic coins seem to be a little on the high side but mostly good and there is a large variety, if you are looking for certain higher end coins you have to ask and they will check in the «back». They also have jewelry and metal detector stuff, coin supplies and other random collectibles that fall in numismatic realm. And the staff is cool, I usually deal with Mac on the numismatics and the bald guy on the precious metals.

Do business with a lot of coin shops. This one is one of best. Jimmy knows his stuff and always has a funny story to tell. There is a reason they have been in business for so long. It’s not one of those fly by night places that the employees know nothing about coins. You will always learn a little something here if you have the time to talk.

I called and asked if they had a Mexican 20 peso coin in stock and I was told they had three and was given a price. When I showed up a half hour later and said I called about the 20 peso coin a little while ago, the guy said they didn’t have any they had three 10 peso coins. I mentioned he told me he had them when I called and he said «I assumed you just cared that they were silver». He then tried to sell me the 10 peso coins.
To be clear, he knew I asked for a 20 peso coin and also knew that he didn’t have any, yet he told me he did, it wasn’t an honest mistake when he looke at the inventory he knew it wasn’t what I asked for at the time I called.

honestly i do like this place because of its convenient location, what i don’t like is the smugness i got from this one guy in the back round just because i had a Venezuela paper currency. i was doing business with the nice old man with the glasses, i really wanted to see the value of the money, turns out it wasnt worth alot witch was alright but what i didnt like is he made a smart ass comment at the end, i don’t get it was it because the money was from Venezuela?, it really kinda pissed me off

I recently needed a little cash so I took an old gold coin into these guys. This is one of those shops in the «old» downtown of Escondido that has been there forever. They quoted me a good rate over the phone (10% less the spot price of gold for that day)…I went in, handed over my coin and got a handful of cash. Quick and Easy!
This does not appear to be one of those pawn shops that has a little of everything from old vinyl to refrigerators… But they do have a great selection of coins and jewelry and really seem to know there stuff backwards and forwards.

I wanted to trade in some numismatic gold coins for regular bullion, so I came down to the local coin shop. I didn’t think I would get a good deal, but I was wrong. The people there were friendly and helpful. And I ended up trading my coins in and getting bullion plus cash in exchange. Their prices are even more competitive than online.
