History

Established in 1982.

Tim Kotter was born in 1959 in Superior Wisconsin and has lived in Escondido area since 1961. He graduated from Escondido High School in 1977. He has always had a passion for cars. He spent many happy hours as a child building models of cars as well as going to car shows and races. When his parents blessed him with a car that did not run, he became very motivated to learn everything there was to learn about cars. This knowledge gave him an open door at a local engine repair and rebuilding shop. After he had gained experience, he opened up his own shop in 1982. He has always loved and driven Volkswagens. Because Volkswagen owners and their cars are very unique, he decided to specialize in V.W. repair. He has been in business now for 31 years. He always gives his customers friendly personalized attention and loves to help them understand the needs of their car. Many of his customers have stayed with him for many years. Most repairs can be finished the same day the car is brought in.

Why We Just Do Volkswagens:

I decided to specialize in Volkswagen because it is my passion. Over the years I have owned many VWs. I truly enjoy the type of engineering that Volkswagen uses on their cars. Also I like the unpretentious attitudes that V.W. owners have. They seem to really enjoy their cars and most of the time, they are also brand loyal, meaning that as VWs evolve they tend to keep buying the newer models. Everyone we meet seems to have a V.W. story or know someone who had a VW somewhere along the line. I want to be the very best at what I do. With all the changing technology, there is no way one person can maintain mastery in all there is to know about every kind of car. All our tools, equipment, manuals, diagnostic scanner computers are all geared exclusively towards Volkswagen.
