Light of Christ Children’s Center

This center is absolutely amazing. I stayed home with my son for his first 2 years, so I was very worried about how he would adjust to daycare. It was a rough start for both he and I, but all of the teachers (especially Miss Jackie and Miss Martha) were true angels in helping us both transition. Within a couple of weeks he went from crying, to running in the door excited to be going to school. After a few months he transitioned to to Miss Tiffanie’s class (the toddler class) where he fell in love with Miss Tiffanie. He would run to her for hugs first thing in the morning, and would I would come to pick him up, he didn’t want to leave. We recently switched daycares because we needed something closer to the house, but I cannot express my gratitude to everyone at Light of Christ for helping me with my son and a very difficult time of transition. I would highly recommend to anyone looking in the area!

I can’t even begin to explain how greatful I am for the staff at light of Christ children center! They are a blessing, my son started in February this year and after two days he was completely comfortable and happy. they all made the transition super easy for him he has learned so much in the short amount of time he has been here. They keep the kids busy with lessons and art and games and they are very structured and that is what I like most that I know my son is being stimulated all day long learning new things as opposed to just playing all day and picking up a cranky tired child I pick him up and he tells me all the things he learned his favorite song his yummy snacks. These ladies really are wonderful people they know each child as an individual and that is what counts because it shows they care. They go above and beyond to connect with the kids and the parents and I would def recommend this child care center to anyone looking for a good well structured daycare/​preschool. They are patient and trustworthy I was skeptical of having my child go to daycare because of horror stories you here in the media and when I found this place I wanted to tell everyone the good news! I found the best childcare center!

I enrolled my first daughter when she was 18 months old and have since enrolled my second when she was 9 months old. Both my girls have grown with the daycare. My girls first had Miss Jackie and fell in love with her. She is patient, kind, and really has a heart for children.
My oldest girl is now almost three and moved into Miss Tiffanie’s class at two where she was potty trained!!! The staff is amazing and my daughter’s love it. The kids are constantly doing activities and learning songs. My daughter can’t wait to show me her pictures she made at school. Another bonus is she knows that she has to put away her toys after she plays with them! When I come to pick her up at the end of the day it’s time to clean up!
I was sooo reluctant to put my children in daycare however, I am extremely pleased that I found the Light of Christ. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a daycare that truly cares about the little ones.

I have watched my grandson grow and learn in the most caring environment anyone could want. The staff at Light of Christ truly care about the children in their charge. If you are looking for a place where your most precious ones will grow and learn and be cared for then Light of Christ is the right place for them and for you.

My daughter has attended Light of Christ since August of 2013 when we moved to Escondido. When I chose her previous school I visited multiple schools several times before deciding on a school I ended up being unhappy with. The moment I walked into Light of Christ I knew it was the right place for my family. The school isn’t a fancy place, and it doesn’t have that corporate preschool feel that appeals to many parents.
Light of Christ is a place of genuine love and caring, and I feel my daughter gets the very best care at a fair price. The preschool is well run and very organized. The teachers are caring, thoughtful and committed to communicating with parents. They put on wonderful events like the Mother’s Day Tea I just attended, and seem to truly love working with the kids.
I initially had some reservations about sending my child to a religious pre school, but I feel that the school shares the very best of the Christian faith in a welcoming way, regardless of anyone’s affiliation or lack of affiliation.
Check this place out before you make a decision about child care in Escondido. It’s a gem.

Our son is 9 months old and has been in the daycare since he turned 6 months. After a bad experience at a home daycare, it was hard for us to place our baby in care. Then we found this daycare at a church and changed our minds. Here you can come in anytime of the day and see how your baby is doing by just walking in. Everything is very well organized. The feeding times, nap times, diaper times are all kept and available to the parents. They have events where the children can all have a movie night or thanksgiving lunch where the children’s parents are invited and meet other parents and enjoy with the staff as well. The staff is very friendly. The price is very reasonable and affordable as well. I love the artwork my baby brings back home for me he’s created. We are very lucky to have found this place!

Light of Christ Children’s Center is located on E. 4^th Ave, adjacent to First United Methodist Church. Living in San Marcos, I priced all daycares and this was the cheapest. Being as such, I didn’t go in with the highest expectations. The building is older and odd shaped but the staff won us over. And by God’s grace, we couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Our children attended from 2010 – 2012, until we moved away. We feel truly blessed that the Lord led us here. Others must have felt the same because they traveled from West San Marcos, Vista and even Camp Pendleton.
Again, the staff is great. I never doubted my children were truly loved. My kids are huggers as a result of their time here. In addition to the religious education, they get well rounded with art and science. Activities galore — off the top of my head, there is Vacation Bible Week Camp (at the daycare), Luau, Halloween party and the Christmas show. My kids took field trips to Sea World, Wild Animal Park, Bates Nut Farm, etc. Walking trips to Petersen’s Donut Corner and the Reptile shop in Escondido. During the summers, they have splash days twice a week. Webby Dance Company offers classes here. For a small operation, this preschool really gets the most out of your children. You get a lot of DVDs from these experiences. They also have photo companies come in occassionally for class and individual pics.
We have met many wonderful parents and children, as well. It was a very social atmosphere, not only during dropoff/​pickup but the social events, too. The school is safe, we fencing all around. The deep clean regularly. My kids learned songs, read books, had chapel. A few parents have kindergarteners that attend the daycare portion after school. These «older» kids are great with the younger kids. I think this shows the parents are happy with the cost and convenience to have a place they are comfortable to have their kindergarteners continue attending. The biggest complement I can pay them is that my kids were happy at the end of the day, with a lot of stuff to share with me. Nothing made me smile more than driving home with my kids singing in the back seat. Kudos to Miss Judy, Janet and Tiffanie (God Bless Ms. Tiffanie for potty training my very stubborn son)!
