Our pool was just completed by Mission Pools. We’ve had a great experience with them from start to finish. Our site supervisor was Johnny Wood and he was great to work with. The entire staff of Mission during the whole process were very friendly & professional. Troy has been assigned as our service tech, he’s been out a couple times now, once again friendly & professional.

I had 2 swimming pools built by Mission Pools over the last 16 years and in both cases I had pretty awful experience with them (the second time was due to a strong recommendation from the landscape architect so I decided to give them another chance). When it comes to getting service from them, their response usually is «we didn’t do it». In our latest pool, they subcontracted out the solar panel installation 7 years ago and the solar panels started to leak at the joints 2 weeks ago and spraying water down from the roof like a fountain. I called Mission Pools trying to find out who I could call to get it fixed and the lightning fast response from «service department» was «No, we don’t touch roofs». She was so fast to wash her hands clean for the company. Turns out, they subcontracted the work out to a company that has gone under because of poor design of the panels. I learned that from 2 pool solar pool companies that I am trying to hire to fix the leak problem. Both companies told me that you can’t get replacement panels anymore because the company has gone under. So now, we have to put in a brand new solar pool system if we want to continue with solar pool heating. Companies usually have cultures and cultures usually come from the top.

Mission pools work is quality work for repairs and it’s nice that I need not be home since they access everything from a side yard. They have repaired 3 valves or switches and each time was great work. They are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

How to begin. Well originally I was dealing with Dawn, as I have only heard great things about her work. Once she came to my property and we started to develop the most rough draft of a plan, she punted the job to some subcontractor, josh. As if it wasn’t hard enough to get prompt answers and good customer service, this person was so much worse. Shows up late for every appointment, disregards your ideas while writing up plans, and just simply doesn’t show on scheduled days. Over a month later and not even a single plan has been completed. Not a very pleasant experience, mission.

We met with a number of different pool contractors, before deciding on Mission Pools. When we met with Mike at our home, we provided him with a conceptual drawing of a free-​form pool that we envisioned. Within a week, he developed a computer generated illustration of our pool, and added some water features that he thought we would like. We were immediately impressed. The final design was beautiful. He then presented us with a booklet that included the all-​inclusive costs of constructing the pool, and we signed the contract the following week (end of May 2015,) with excavation scheduled for the week following the 4^th of July.
The entire construction process was impressive, mainly due to the professionalism and knowledge of our Pool Construction Superintendent, Jim McGreevy, who visited the worksite constantly to ensure the high quality of work. Each time he visited the site, he met with us to ensure that we were pleased with the work, and to ask if we had any questions. He always went the extra step for us. Although we were extremely impressed with all the workers from Mission Pools, who were all very nice and professional in their various trades (excavation, plumbing, electrical, etc,) Jim could definitely be the «Poster Child» for Service with a Smile for Mission Pools. He was always friendly, and when he said something was going to be done, it was done. There were never any excuses, because he always got things done.
The only hiccup that we had during the construction was waiting for the pool coping to be manufactured. Because we had a free-​formed pool, the coping could not be ordered until after the gunite was completed, and a template drawn of the pool sides. This resulted in a 7 ½ week delay in the project. Once the coping was received, work began again without delay.
The entire project was completed almost four months to the day after excavation was begun, and the final product is AWESOME. We just had the pool start-​up completed by Troy last Friday, and he was great as well. He explained the system to us, and ensured that everything was running properly.
Everybody at Mission Pools has been great, and It is my pleasure to give them my recommendation, and my sincere appreciation!

I started the process of looking for contractors to get a bid on having a pool done about a month ago. I was able to get about 3 bids with drafts since then. For some reason Mission Pools has yet to get back to me, it’s been over a month. I don’t understand how they can meet with you and give you all the talk of what, when and how’s, then just disappear. I guess they are doing very well and don’t need my business. The 2 stars are for the initial consultation. Josh was very polite, but I know he’s just the middle man. Maybe it’s best, because I would hate to have paid for service or goods I wasn’t getting.

Mission Pools completed our pool and spa about two weeks ago. Our site supervisor, Jim McCreevy was outstanding! He was here every step of the process, always kept us updated on the process/​schedule and answered every question we had. The crews were very professional and always cleaned up at the end of the day — that was huge to us! Our pool tech, Chris is great as well. We’re very happy with the end product!
On a side note — while we loved Mission Pools, the hardscape contractor they use and recommended to us was very frustrating to work with and their work was subpar to say the least. Mission really needs to reconsider working with this person if they care about their reputation.

Over 10 years ago, Dawn Ridgeway designed our beautiful pool. The construction went smoothly and right on time. It was now time to have the slide and waterfall refinished. Bruce Dunn took great care of us by sending Ryan to help us out. Ryan did an amazing job. It looks amazing! We are so please with all of Mission Pool’s efforts. Thank you so much!

We LOVE our new pool by Mission Pools! From the design by Mike, construction by Jim and service by Troy, they did a fantastic job! Jim has to be the best construction manager in the state! He was on the job constantly checking on things and making sure everything was done correctly. He’s super patient and respectful to everyone he comes in contact with. Once Mission began doing the pool service, Troy is equally impressive. He is so considerate and helpful, we just love the guy. Everyone we have come in contact with has been wonderful.
The pool turned out even better than we could have imagined!

Mission Pools built our pool five years ago — they were very professional, easy to work with and carefully reviewed options and pricing with us — there were no hidden or unexpected charges. We love our pool. We also signed up for pool cleaning and maintenance. Troy is our service technician and he is the best by far. He’s very pleasant, has a positive attitude, knows what he’s doing and keeps our pool beautifully maintained and in tip top working order — we like him so much that we don’t ever want him to switch routes.

Dawn Ridgeway from Mission Pools came highly recommended on Unilocal. We wanted to build a pool and asked for Dawn. She was wonderful! She designed our pool and assisted with al the choices of pavers, tile, coping and the pebbletech color. Jim McGreavey managed the construction. From start to finish he kept us informed and the entire team was wonderful to work with through each phase of the project. Mission Pool’s customer service is outstanding. We are thrilled with the outcome and would highly recommend Mission Pools and their service afterward for the maintenance of the pool.

I called these guys to come out and take a look at the pool to quote on resurfacing. The most honest discussion that I have had with any pool company — much appreciated! They were honest and provided various options with costs for each. I found them very easy to work with… so it all depends sometimes who answers the phone, who comes out to quote, and who does the actual work. I would recommend them for new construction or pool maintenance work.

Mission Pools was wonderful to work with, and professional as they come. They were timely and worked well with our contractor and other crews. We love our pool, it’s a Pebbletech rectangular pool with squared concrete coping and a built-​in spa, with electric pool cover. They’ve been servicing it as well– so far so good! No complaints. I would recommend them for a no hassle company that really knows what they are doing! We loved the design process, the build, and now are enjoying the final product!

Prior to contracting Mission Pools to build our pool and spa, we had spent several months seeking proposals and comparing contracts from other pool vendors. This was no small task and required the assistance of our lawyer. Some of the other companies that bid and interviewed for our business had some absolutely unbelievable and hidden clauses in their contracts that protected them in every way. If a back hoe ran into our house for ANY reason and caused damage, it was the homeowner’s responsibility! If the work was not performed as contracted, extensive time delays, damage to our property, etc., oh well, it would be our responsibility and we were to execute a waiver relieving them of any and all liability. What a racket and how dare they sneak in this small print and dazzle potential customers with promises of best prices and fast turnaround. Mission Pools was the exception and truly stood out of the crowd. We first met with Dawn Ridgeway and executed a clear cut contract without hidden daggers. After receiving a beautiful rendering of our pool and spa, the steps were taken to finalize the design for permits. Dawn was FULL of fabulous ideas and Jim McGreavy made it all happen! What a team we had build our dream pool and spa! Honestly, they were extremely supportive of our ideas and respected our property. The work started on October 8, 2013 and was completed exactly as promised on the first week of February! The work crews were amazing! They were very clean, polite, considerate and accommodating! They even moved the locations of the therapy jets for me as I am 6’1″ with herniated disks in my lower back! I can honestly say that my husband and I have enjoyed our pool now for six months without fail. Mission Pools has a wonderful maintenance staff that services the pool and spa every week and we haven’t had to lift a finger. Their customer service has kept in contact with us to see how we are doing and if there is anything they can do for us, asking if we were experiencing any problems. We couldn’t be happier! As a couple who has researched pool builders and their contracts extensively, we feel very qualified to recommend Mission Pools to anyone desiring to get the best quality pool and spa for the best price! Thank you Dawn, Jim and crew for bringing our dream to life!

I thought maybe I should post an update on my saga, They did finally replace the plaster a couple of years ago, but it was a pain to deal with them. Their customer service person was rude, and at one point she even hung up on me. The plaster crew got some plaster on my car, that is still there because they never came out and took care of it. And the kicker… the new plaster looks worse than the old plaster. We tried to upgrade to Pebbletech, but they they wanted to charge us far more than it would cost to go another source to have that done.
I am also finding out that all of the equipment they installed was not the best, and barely five years into owning the pool, we are having to replace everything piece by piece. What a mistake we made in hiring them. I will say that Johnny Woods, the construction foreman that built the pool was good, but everything else has been a nightmare.

I had Mission Pools build our backyard pool because I wanted a reputable business that would stand behind their product. After 11 years they continue to be the company I hoped they would be.
Recently, I needed some work done to my pool equipment and was concerned about it being diagnosed correctly. Even though I had a relationship with a local pool supply store/​builder, I turned to Mission to evaluate the problem. When I called and spoke to Diana in service, who was our sales rep in the beginning stages, she remembered me and we chatted briefly about our lives. She diagnosed the problem and scheduled a tech to come to the house the following week. He came out, was on time, was friendly, and walked me through his evaluation. He replaced my water sensor and left. Short, sweet, professional.
There’s a lot of pool builders in San Diego to choose from, I’m so thankful I picked Mission Pools.

I’m writing this in my swimming suit, having just finished a refreshing swim in my new pool! If you are going to get a new construction, like we did, I would whole-​heartedly recommend Mission Pools. Each phase of construction proceeded on time with the only delay being the one day it rained. Other pool companies may give you a lower price but what you get in return are delays and headaches. This is a large investment, go with a company that has been around and has a solid reputation.
Dawn Ridgeway is awesome awesome awesome. She is a very patient and caring person. It took us over a year from when we first contacted Mission Pools until we signed the papers — this is because after she drew up plans for us, we decided to move to a new house. When we were ready at our new house, she came by and drew up plans for a pool that that location. She really listened to what we wanted and the pool is designed perfectly for us.

Over the years, my wife and I had had two pools built, with varying degrees of satisfaction. When we moved into our latest home, we thought we’d give Mission Pools a try. Some might say that they are a bit expensive, but in this case, you really do get what you pay for.
Dawn Ridgeway, Jim McGreavey, Don Johnson – all the work crews – everyone was competent, professional, friendly, and, most importantly, they did a hell of a job in a timely fashion. We are VERY happy with our pool, and would not hesitate to recommend Mission to anyone.

Mission Pools tries to create a «caring» «family» image. That is definitely not the case. Their company backs up to a residential area and they are TERRIBLE to the neighbors surrounding them. When I called and tried to discuss the issue with them, I got Brad on the phone. He was very rude to me during the first phone call and hung up on me during the second phone call.
The Mission Pool trucks race through the neighborhood. We have gone to the city and got extra stop signs installed and signage asking cars to slow down – specifically because of their trucks.
Their alarm goes off for days and they never turn it off. The alarm is so loud it makes it impossible to sleep. One holiday weekend their alarm went off on a Friday night and ran until early the next Tuesday morning. When I called to ask them about it, Brad denied that it was their alarm. The next time it went off, I drove to the site and an employee told me it was definitely their alarm.
They absolutely don’t care that they are disturbing hundreds of people in the neighborhood. They care so little that they hung up on me. Why would anyone want to do business with a company like this?
