Kim really is knowledgeable and does an excellent job. The quality of her products is first rate. I had been going to a nail shop for 10 years (one of the ones you can walk in for cheap and get some non-​English speaker) but the nails would alway lift, and the product was cheap. Not to mention they have given clients fungus because they don’t clean instruments. Kim is clean and uses proper methods. I’d pay a few bucks more for the security of my nails’ health.

I get gel nails and pedicures from Kim. She does an amazing job every time. She is professional and offers quality products. I love the variety of colors available. The work area is always sanitized. I highly recommend Kim for any nail services. You will not be disappointed.

Kim is probably THE nicest nail lady I have ever met and she does a fantastic job! I seriously cannot express what a kind lady she is. I got acrylics and my friend got gel polish. Both look very clean and even. We are very pleased and will most definitely be coming back!

I never thought I could have pretty, healthy, strong nails. I am in the cleaning business and I work with my hands on dirty rugs and just accepted that my hands (and toes!) would be hidden for like. That was until I met Kim Chau, a recommendation from a hair stylist at Alter Ego. I have been a client for just about a year, and since there are many types of nail shops and reasons why people get their nails «done» I wanted to lay out the reasons why she is my choice for my nails.
When you’ve been around as long as I have, you come across the bad stories about many nail shops. The strong upsells, so it’s never the price you are originally quoted. The polish and work that seems to leave you with even more damaged nails when you decide to leave them. The fungal infections that people get at those cheaper shops. We’ve all heard the stories, and over the years we’ve experienced these ourselves.
With Kim you have an owner-​operator with a lot of years of experience. When I told her that my job just meant I could never have nice looking nails, that they were just too beat up during the week, she promised me that she could make them better. We talked about what I was doing during the week, what products I used on my hands and nails, and she gave me advise on changes to make. We went with Gels, which she promised would not damage my natural nails, and she spoke the truth. Her products and colors last longer than any work I’ve had done in the past, and my nails are stronger than they were before I met her. She’s even allowed me to feel comfortable about wearing sandals and showing my toes in color, something I could never do before.
I want to be honest here that I don’t think my younger nieces would be clients for Kim. They like the long acrylics and the fancy colors and designs and stuff you see in selfies on Facebook. Those are not the nails for working women, and most of my friends who have flashy acrylics seem to complain about them much more than they do rave about them, and they all complain about how damaged their nails are underneath that work. Kim does acrylics and gels, but what I love about her is that she is focused on what is best for your nails, your hands, and your lifestyle. This is not a conveyor belt of nail appointments where you are another mark for a sale — this is a place where every person is important, you are never rushed, Kim is always on time for, and she wants you as a customer for life.
If you are looking for someone who will always be happy to see you, and happy to help you, and will help you have healthy, pretty nails, hands, and feet — then this is your shop. Kim has a big heart, and she is very skilled at giving excellent manicures and pedicures at a price that everyone can afford, and with products that last even under hard working job conditions.

I found Kim a few years ago and will never have anyone else touch my feet again! Not only do I fall asleep during the most wonderful massages, she is expert at taking care of ingrown toenails!
She is flexible about my schedule and has lots of colors to choose from. I only have my pedis done with Kim, but I see her nail work on her other clients and they love her too!
I’m over 50, so I can be high maintenance sometimes, but she always acts as if it is normal and has never seemed like anything I do is a problem! Lol
If you are younger, or a guy, you will love her work too!
I gave my 18 year old son a pedi gift certificate before he went to a 10 day trek, and he has been a devoted client ever since.
Seriously, try Kim. Her fees are higher than than the common nail shops, but you won’t get a fungal infection and her massages are worth twice the price. Quality counts, and I count on Kim!

I first went to Kim when she was stationed over at Hair Attitudes. I was hopping on a cruise ship to get married and sail off into the sunset and I wanted my nails to look their very best. Kim did such a great job — not just making them look great, but also making them LAST FOREVER — that I’ve never stopped going to her. Turns out, I’m not alone.
