I wish I could give no star but my options are limited. This company is horrible! They give you such a wide window of time and arrive outside of that window expecting you to my have a life! Their employee’s are rude and have no home training or proper customer skills. This is the thanks I get for serving the country and keeping them and their kids safe? What a joke! I will be in contact with corporate regarding the lack of professionalism and relentless attitude I have received! Do Not go with this company! You will not be satisfied!

The movers showed up looking like slobs and brought in used boxes (which had cockroach eggs on them).
***One of my favorite parts of the day was when one of the employees used my bathroom WITHOUT asking and then came out of the bathroom exclaiming that he had «blown it up in there».***
The blatant disrespect and unprofessionalism didn’t stop there…
I noticed how fast they were slamming items into boxes and decided it would be in my best interest to take pictures of items BEFORE they were damaged and I’m SO glad I did.
At the new home, they were in such a hurry to get the day over with (even though they had only started at 7am and it was now 3pm), that they would slamming items into walls and across doors in a pathetic attempt to get them up the stairs. Which obviously caused damage.
At one point I noticed a large piece of furniture had been excessively damaged and the mover told me that «it’s not a big deal.» Not a big deal? That furniture is an heirloom and means A LOT to me. The mover even tried to fix the furniture by forcing pieces back together, which obviously made it worse.
When the movers were leaving, I was handed the inventory (which is supposed to be checked off by me as the movers are initially packing the items), and told to sign it. Seriously? I think this was a ploy to avoid being held responsible for the items they broke and that I’m STILL missing (7 months after the move). The inventory was sofa king illegible that it was completely useless. Obviously another ploy.
During the unpacking I found my coffee maker packed with coffee still in the filter and an xbox in a box full of blankets with the xbox on the OUTSIDE of the blankets (touching the box). And glassware shoved into boxes under canned goods. Among other wonderful surprises.
Now during the claims process, I’m being avoided and handed off to other employees. I also haven’t received any updates on the claim since it was placed over 5 months ago. Nor have I received the missing items that I know were not left at the old place, despite asking its whereabouts several times over the phone.
The saddest part is, this furniture has been moved plenty of other times by other companies and hasn’t sustained the damaged that it did with this company.
I DO NOT and will NEVER recommend this company.

I utilized Pack and Crate for a move in Aug 2014. They showed up without adequate staffing for the job (according to the 2 men who arrived at my place). The 2 men that showed up did call a third to help get the job done, but items were hastily packed and damaged in the move, I believe in part because there was not adequate manpower to complete the job properly. There seemed to be some internal communication issues between dispatch and the drivers/​packers. The men who showed up said it should have been a 2 day move rather than just one. I was very nice to the movers who were at my place and bought them lunch. Because of the time crunch, some items were not professionally packed, nor were they inventoried; they were just put in the truck at the end. I was not given the inventory to review until the move was complete. Some of the items that were put on the truck last without being professionally packed were damaged and efforts were made at delivery to conceal the damages (in my opinion so there wouldn’t be documentation that there were items noted to be damaged at delivery). I was donating a number of my items to charity, so on many of them I didn’t mind that they were a little dinged up, but I did have some custom framing that was broken that I did file a claim for with the company. I received a request back for a quote. I fulfilled the quote and mailed back the requested documents promptly. It took over 2 months for a response to be sent back for the single item I had filed for. The response was that they were denying responsibility for the claim. In any move, you have to be very skeptical and on top of the process, but I would not recommend another company based on my experience.

This company will stab you I the back and rob you blind. My last moving experience was horrible they had one small truck that had to make multiple trips. The day lasted over 12 hours. I had items missing and damaged that they refused to pay for do not under any circumstances use this company. If I could give negative stars I would. If you are forced to use them check everything VERY carfully. Disregard the star I used

Pack and Crate moved a 3 BR plus garage home last Sept 2013 and did a wonderful job for us at a great price. We planned to do all the packing ourselves to save costs, but ran out of time at the end. No problem, they sent over an extra man who packed the kitchen while the other 3 men loaded the truck. Everything packed and delivered in one day with no breakage. From Ben the crew chief to ex-​Marine Rufus the scheduler, everybody was polite, courteous, and efficient. It went so well that our daughter and father-​in-​law also used P&C and had equally good experiences. We highly recommend them. Thank you Pack and Crate for a job well done!

The first of many things that sets Bekins Pack & Crate aside from the other moving companies is the pre-​move inspection. You call up to get a quote for your move and they will schedule a pre-​move inspection for you; where they will come out to your home/​apt and verify room by room what is being moved and what may need extra protection. During this pre-​move they will determine how many men will be on the truck, the walking/​loading times along with it and give you a very thorough quote for their services so there are no surprises.
Mike came out to our apt on Thursday morning, 8÷16÷2012, and went room by room and took exact notes on what would be going onto the truck and what was going into a POD for storage. He sat down and went through our estimate line by line and I got a signed copy.
On Saturday, 8÷18÷2012, Cesar, Jorge and Josh showed up bright and early and prepared. As always moving becomes chaotic when it comes down to the actual getting the boxes stuffed with lots of paper, sealed, and on the truck but they took all of that chaos out of my move. They came in and sorted out what was going onto their truck to be moved across town and put all of that onto the truck. Super protected the furniture and delicate pieces like glass lamps. Then the three men got all of my belongings into the POD sitting on the curb by dividing and conquering so it took less time. Once the place in Mission Valley was emptied out we got into our cars and led the movers & the truck across town. At the new, smaller place our three awesome movers charged right over the hurdle of getting the very large sectional through the small front door. They tried a couple of angles and a few options but were graciously concerned about causing the leather sectional any harm. It took them a couple, a few tries but they got it in without a single scratch to the couch or the property. The new place had a far shorter walk; Cesar, Jorge, and Josh got the remaining furniture and boxes into the apt in no time.
The whole move from start to finish was exactly 6 hours and worth every penny!

We used Bekins Pack and Crate to move us out of state. They tried to reschedule our delivery date, then added additional charges at the end. They also damaged two pieces of our furniture and then told us the insurance we paid hundreds of dollars for only covered us if the items were completely destroyed while in transit. We had other family members move out of state shortly after us and they used Allied and had a much better experience.

These guys were great! Just had them move us and they were professional, flexible and efficient. I didn’t think they were working the clock at all. Very nice and fun to be around. They made moving enjoyable.

Seeing as how the military drops the ball on scheduling our move, Bekin’s graciously came to move us last minute.
I talked to the scheduler, Vic, the day before so he could get an idea of what they were going to need. Having a 1 bedroom apartment with a garage on the first floor, it was a pretty basic move.
They showed up at 9am with two guys and started packing our stuff immediately. Arturo and Jorge were very efficient and organized in thier packing and inventory process and also very friendly. About an hour before they were done two other guys showed up with a second truck for our couch and one additional crate that couldn’t fit on the first truck. In total it took them 6 hours from start to finish including a break for lunch. This is such an improvement from the last movers we used who took over 10 hours for significantly less stuff.
I prefer their system of using crates instead of one big moving truck, that way our belongings are not being riffled through and being transferred from place to place with chances of misplacing boxes. Better yet, we signed the stickers that they use to seal the crates, that way we can tell upon arrival if they have been opened or not.
The only downfall is that they wouldn’t pack any liquid containers which include shower stuff, lotions, perfumes, cooking liquids/​oils, cleaning supplies, auto liquids etc. I understand it’s a safety reason and they don’t want our items to leak. My suggestions would be to pre pack those in a box or tote ahead of time because they will take that, they just can’t physically pack these loose items themselves.
We will see how it turns out on the other side, but we are satisfied with the service so far!

I found these movers reading reviews online when I did a Google search. I had things boxed and had them move some nice furniture and large 1 bedroom worth of items. I was moving on a Friday from downtown SD to Costa Mesa and I wanted to beat traffic so it was imperative to have the truck packed and on the road by 11 am. To expedite the move I hired 3 people which was costing me more. The person on the phone asked me what my concern for time was on the unloading and I told him once we’re there I really wasn’t in a rush so he suggested that I just hire the third person to help pack and load the truck. Once we were ready to leave SD the third person would be done and I would only be getting charged for the two people. Nice!
Well, if you’ve hired movers you know that they charge double for driving time and some even will charge and extra gas fee. It’s been a few months since I moved but if my memory serves me they didn’t charge an extra gas fee. Another concern with previous movers is that they seem to take their time and do everything to maximize the longevity of the move.
The movers came on time and they evaluated the situation and went right to work. They started to wrap items so the items wouldn’t get scratched. These guys made me feel like I was getting more than my moneys worth. They were like movers on caffeine. I would have said crack but that might also imply carelessness but these guys were also careful. Once the truck was packed, which was incredibly fast, the third person was done and just the two movers would take it from there.
They had directions and an address and I told them I was going to take care of a couple of things but would still beat them there. I wasn’t long and as I hopped onto the 5 I knew I it wouldn’t be long before I caught up to them. Boy was I wrong. I’m doing 80 in my truck and I don’t see them. There’s no traffic and not a lot of vehicles on the road. Did I already pass them? I can’t see them. Finally, there they are. They’re hauling ass… ha ha.
Once there, they were as efficient as can be. I was so happy with these guys I tipped them more than normal and I’m a pretty good tipper. This was as good as it gets… I mean for movers. :)

We used this Bekins company to move across the state. Upon arrival to our new home we found 2 damaged items that could not be repaired. This probably occurred from the movers hired to assist us by Bekins at our arrival. We were not happy with these movers (the ones at our departure were good). Replacement value was about $ 500 to $ 600 dollars for these damaged items. It took me 2 months with a flaky and unresponsive claims person who works at this location to finally get an offer of about $ 60 dollars, barely a 5^th of what it will cost me to replace the damaged items. The mover (though very nice) had told me I had coverage up to $ 7000 dollars that came automatically with the policy. This of course implied any damage less than $ 7000 would be reimbursed. It turned out the truth was they only cover a negligible portion based on the weight of the item. This was not explained to us and was very confusingly presented in the contract. We spent so much money for the move itself, there should have been better automatic damage coverage. Basically, they carelessly damaged our items and then refused to properly compensate us for it. I tried to reach the sales person who originally came to our home to present their services, but my efforts to reach him were refused. We will not be using them again.
