Rita’s Italian Ice-​Custard-​Happiness is a delectable dessert destination in Escondido. Located at El Norte Parkway and Nordahl, just west of I-​15, Rita’s makes fresh Italian Ice Daily, rotating between almost 90 menu flavors, including Black Cherry, Mango, Lemon and even Chocolate-​covered Strawberry. We offer a variety of creamy frozen custard, sundaes, cones, and frozen drinks.

Rita’s, the «Home of Cool Treats,» offers many delicious options in addition to Italian Ice. Our Misto® Shakes blend up a combination of Italian Ice and Old-​Fashioned Frozen Custard into a cool, creamy, delicious customizable treat. A personalized Blendini®, swirls Old-​Fashioned Frozen Custard and Italian Ice with your choice of a candy mix-​ins. Our infamous Gelati layers your choice of Italian Ice layered with creamy Old-​Fashioned Frozen Custard.

Rita’s Italian Ice has been an East Cost staple for 30 years. Some describe it as a comfort food, others know it growing up as a memory of childhood happiness.

After being introduced to Southern California nearly three years ago, Rita’s of Felicita opened its doors on December 6, 2014, with Chris as the manager for the Area Developers. Chris and his wife, Melissa, a local Escondido family, purchased both Rita’s of Escondido stores in November 2015. They love the Escondido community and are committed to sharing happiness and ice to all their guests.

Rita’s was founded 30 years ago, and is headquartered in Trevose, PA. We are excited to be a part of the largest Italian Ice concept in the world, with over 600 stores in the U.S., and more opening soon.

Hi Friends! We are Chris and Melissa, the new, local owners of Rita’s of Escondido, at Felicita and at El Norte Parkway. We took over ownership in November 2015, and are excited to be a part of the community. Come on in and introduce yourself. We love meeting new people and serving you an awesome experience.
