Roma Market

Love this market! Great selection of all yummy things Italian! We came here for pizzas. Perfectly made light, tasty but not salty like the pizza chains. Had also the cannoli. My two year old daughter loved it!

Great family run market and restaurant. Friendly staff and clean atmosphere. You can buy meats, cheeses, fresh breads, olive oils, pastas, wine and anything you can think of that you would find in an authentic Italian market. But they also serve food.
Eat in or takeout, you can get sandwiches, great thin crust pizza, rice balls, Italian ice cream and more. Their homemade marinara or meat sauce, stuffed shells, daily baked bread, and lasagna are all excellent standouts.
You must try the cannoli! They are second to none
Fun place that is habit forming.

Best pizza ever! The store seems to have evolved nicely since it’s opening to better meet customer needs. Wonderful staff — everyone is always friendly and helpful.

My calzone was outstanding (pepperoni and mushroom) and the marinara dipping sauce was both ample and delicious. My wife had the cold Italian sub sandwich which she loved.

I only wish Roma’s was closer. I was there for the first time yesterday. I ordered a Latte and commented to the woman behind the counter how nice the place was. I said I had never been to the market before and she said, «Well then, you need to have a Latte, just made one for myself, and one of our cannollis, complementary. They’re my mother’s recipe.» So delicious! Then the group I was with ordered a pizza, fresh, crispy but not too thin, lots of cheese and just the right amount of sauce. The market is amazing and has everything an Italian like me needs for any occassion. Friendly, courteous service included.

Finally found a great cappuccino! You’ve also got to try the home made cannolis-​they are so delicious. All the staff are super friendly and they have a great selection of house made pastas you can buy. Definitely my new favorite little market!

I’ve seen Roma Market on social media and I’ve also seen this Italian market when we drive to Valley View Casino (I know, what a horrible sentence). I’ve been curious about Roma Market as I knew they have an inside deli that makes pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. They even have home made desserts.
It’s a cute Italian market that carries fresh produce, wines, Italian imports, etc. I’ve seen Roma Market on social media and I’ve also seen this Italian market when we drive to Valley View Casino (I know, what a horrible sentence). I’ve been curious about Roma Market as I knew they have an inside deli that makes pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. They even have home made desserts.
We ordered:
Meatball sandwich $ 8.25:
— The hot sandwich comes out sliced and ready to eat. The melted provolone cheese is underneath the halved meatballs. I wasn’t really in awe of the meatballs but I did enjoy the marinara sauce with the melted provolone cheese. The bread was delicious and had been toasted nicely. This sandwich would have been fine without the meatballs actually. I wonder if they can do a grilled cheese on their french bread and serve that with a side of marinara sauce.
Cuban sandwich $ 9.95:
— The Cuban sandwich here at Roma Market is large and comes out nicely wrapped (if you ask for it to go). Again the bread is so good here. Marin, the cashier, said you can buy it behind the counter for $ 1.25 I think. The Cuban consisted of roast pork, ham, swiss, mustard, and pickles. The french bread is then pressed and served as seen above. There was a wonderful crunch to the pressed French bread but I mostly remember the taste of the pickles. This sandwich didn’t re heat well the next day.
Cannoli:
— I couldn’t decide between tiramisu and a cannoli for dessert to bring back to the office. Marin said to buy the timamisu and check in on Unilocal to get a free cannoli. Thank you Marin! I had this cannoli some days later and the shell was already soggy (my fault for waiting so long to eat the dessert). I felt the filling was a bit too sweet.
Tiramisu $ 3.99:
— The mascarpone was lightly sweetened and had a beautiful whipped consistency to it. The ladyfingers were ok. There wasn’t much coffee taste to it.
I liked this small Italian market and would re visit if I was in the area. I particularly appreciated Marin as she was so helpful and patient with my questions about their sandwiches. There was plenty of parking that afternoon I visited as well. Roma Market would be a fun destination with a friend to plan an Italian theme dinner party.

Love it all! The gelato, the cheeses the authentic Italian goodies & the friendly people of course. Their fresh pesto is amazing & their creamy vodka sauce is great. Ohhh and chimi-​churry (not sure how to spell it) is sooooo good.
It’s a fairly small space for a market with a small produce section but I like that. I feel like they use the space to stock the best items. I can get in & out in 15 min. I don’t feel like Im missing something if I can’t shop for an hour.

Stopped here on my way back from visiting family at Palomar Hospital. Needed stuff to make for dinner and wow did I make the right choice! I bought pizza dough, pizza sauce (homemade), pepperoni and hot Italian sausage. My pizza turned out amazing and everything there is so FRESH. If I didn’t live so far I would come here weekly. I would totally recommend.

Love it here! We moved to North County a few months ago and randomly discovered this place. Everything is amazing and the prices are great!

Was so excited to find out there was an Italian market «nearby» (unfortunately a little bit of a schlep from Carlsbad but worth it!). I grew up with an old school Italian market and have been so sad there’s nothing like it here — until now!
I grabbed some of their frozen ravioli, fresh pizza sauce, pizza dough, vodka sauce and 2 balls of mozzarella to try this place out. We had a feast last night and now I’m hooked. The vodka sauce and mozzarella were the best I have had in a long time.
Definitely worth the drive, can’t wait to go back and try one of their sandwiches!

Stopped by here today for the first time, we were planning on going to Rockin Jenny’s next door to split a sandwich. My husband reminded me that Roma market has a little deli counter and pizzas so we decided to spilt a pizza instead. I didn’t even know this place existed and I make a few visits to Petco at least 2 times a month.
My husband and I spilt the Sicilian pizza and we both really enjoyed it! We ate the whole thing in less than 5 minutes (it was a 12″ pizza, we’re not competitive eaters or anything!) we also split a cannoli and it was delicious! I wish I had seen the free cannoli with check-​in on Unilocal before we purchased ours, but that just gives us an excuse to come back… Not that we need one. Their pizza dough and toppings tasted very fresh and authentic. We’ll definitely be back, if not for their deli counter for their groceries.
We didn’t look around the store, but I could see their extensive cheese and salami selection from the deli counter register. I know where I’ll be going to get ingredients for home made pizza from now on, though I’ll be tempted to just bring a fresh made one from their deli home instead :)

First off, honestly, the best cannoli I’ve ever had. Even Mama Rose loved them, and she grew up in Sicily. We ordered a pizza and ate on the outdoor patio. Pizza was good, but the patio could have been cleaner. Huge selection in the market, with great prices on the produce.

I was in Roma today for the first time and thought everything looked amazing. They had my favorite dessert, tiramisu so I bought one. It’s not made with marscapone the way tiramisu should be. They used whipped cream. It doesn’t list ingredients on the label otherwise I would have passed. It’s a cup of whipped cream with cocoa powder on top for $ 5. I feel like they thought no one would know the difference.
They also have a full sized one in the back with the gelato. The large one is $ 45. Anyone feel like paying almost $ 50 for whipped cream?

Just came from the market — my new favorite — went in for desserts for a birthday dinner and came out with all sorts of goodies thanks to Angelo’s expert food guidance and it’s open
7 days a week. I can’t wait to go back

Finally took the time to stop by recently as I’ve noticed them there for a little while. Been thanking myself ever since.
I love their deli section. Fair pricing, great quality. I never realized I’d been eating fake mozzarella my whole life… haha:)
If I cooked more I’d really be taking advantage of all the fine cheeses, varieties of basalmic, fresh veggies, and fresh pastas, assortment of olives. It reminds me of a touch of European quality in Escondido… which is pretty fun and awesome.

Roma has become a real rad spot in Escondido. They have a great wine selection and deals. I love their hot food case because they usually have at least 3 options for vegetarians. I get Roma’s eggplant parmesan on the regular. The staff has become very knowledgeable and I usually see the same people there working every time. They have gelato, oh the gelato. There’s also a made to order pizza and sandwiches menu with a cool patio to enjoy your goodies on.

We went to this store on Xmas Eve to get ingredients for dinner as well as pick up some cannolis. Let me tell you, it smelled delicious in there!
They had everything we needed, an dthe staff some super friendly. I mentioned to a guy behind the counter that I was making alfredo sauce… He offered to make it for me if I had a few minutes.
They have a nice area of tables to sit and eat hot food and sandwiches. I definitely will be back soon for lunch.

Small, neighborhood style market with a sandwich/​hot food service deli.
Not much to say other than it’s a fun place to stop in, check out, and grab an Italian sandwich every once in a while.

— Polly-​O New York Ricotta cheese. Read the ingredients, when you’re making a lasagna for guests this is the stuff to use.
— Sandwiches (Hoagie and «The Sandwich»)
— Make your own pizza ingredients (dough ball, cheese, pepperoni, sauce)
— You can make a great antipasto plate and to take to parties etc etc
— local organic produce (the kale that they’ve been putting out lately has been amazing).
