Stanley Schaeffer, DDS

I’m so glad I found this doctor and his staff. I was so scared when i made my appointment due to previous experiences with other dentists being horrific. I need a lot of work done due to a rare condition I have and this is the first doctor that has truly helped me. He’s done extractions which didn’t hurt at all, not even the numbing shot hurt when he placed it and has done fillings which look amazing. He actually takes the time to find a good solution and the quality of his work is hands down the best I’ve seen. The receptionists and assistants in the back are also super nice and helpful.. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Laura, my daughter, is handicapped and we had been looking for a long time to find the right Dentist for her who would be able to care for her special needs. He has now fixed all of her teeth and was a gentleman and very sensitive to her sensitivity. Dr. Schaeffer made Laura very comfortable and his ability to work with difficult cases and situations is amazing–

WOW, unpleasant surprise!
I called office of Dr Stanley Shaeffer wanted to make an appointment for a cleaning. I was told I need to have an exam first and first available appointment tomorrow. I asked if we could schedule an exam and a cleaning at the same time. I explained that I saw my previous dentist just 6 month ago and they were able to do it the same day. I explained that I do not live near by .He asked me where do I leave, I explained where I live and that would take about 35 minutes. He said with a very mean tone of voice: «well that means you will have to drive twice! And I am the BOSS! My policy! «
WOW, if Doctor talks like that to his potential new patient, what can you expect later!!!
May be he could get some people skills and if he does not have people skills may be he should not answer his phone!

Search everywhere to find a good deal to get my back tooth removed and dr. Schaeffer had the best deal! I came in front staff was super nice and friendly and dr. schaeffer was very funny and made me feel comfortable. I have my next appointment to come for a cavity for a really good price! I thought Dr. Schaeffer and his entire staff (up front and in back) were wonderful. They got me in very quickly, were friendly, gracious and professional and did a great job on my exam, filling and cleaning. Dr. Schaeffer was knowledgable, honest, caring, made me feel very comfortable (I was that nervous patient) and took the time to explain things to me. I read his reviews prior to making my first appointment and just re-​read them again; I saw zero evidence of anything negative or concerning on any of my three visits. I highly recommend Dr. Schaeffer.

Dr. S is very good at what he does and he always wears gloves. Don’t trust that bad review.

We are a family of 3 that includes a teenage daughter. We are VERY pleased with Dr. Schaeffer’s professional services. We have received his services for almost 2 years, and he is very pleasant and caring. We trust his knowledge and experience, and it’s clear that he enjoys what he does in helping people. I also appreciate that he calls to remind us of our appointments prior. The dental hygienists are exceptional and very conscientious in their manners. And the receptionists are friendly and courteous. We are thankful to have found a wonderful dental clinic. Thank you Dr. Schaeffer and staff! :)

Before I write my review on Dr. Schaeffer I want to let anyone who is reading this know that the dental hygienists at this clinic are amazing and very friendly. The receptionists are friendly over the phone and very professional.
Now, I have been to many different dentist because I relocate quite often. I chose to go to Dr. Schaeffer because he seemed to be well liked and had fairly good reviews. Boy, did I regret making that decision. Firstly, he examined the inside of my mouth without wearing gloves. Yes, gross. After having a root canal done I was told I needed a crown and the only option he gave me was to pay 300 dollars for a custom fitting. I was on a tight budget at the time so I told him I wanted to hold off. He also addressed me as if I had no comprehension of what a cavity is. I addressed him with the respect that a doctor deserves but when he talked down to me like I was a child needing my hand to be held, I was more than offended. Mind you, this may have been the cause of myself seeming of a «lower» class because I did not have the funds to obtain a fitted crown. Either way his behavior was still quite rude. He filled the hole in my tooth and I did not hear from him until the following year. at which time he informed me that my insurance (which had now expired) could have covered a metal crown. I believe he was trying to squeeze money from me by misinforming me from the beginning and not giving me the option of a FREE crown. I then proceeded to acquire a different insurance that also covered the metal crown and scheduled that procedure to be done thinking it would be best to finish off the work he had started. I came in and he then refused to give me a metal crown because «they weren’t paying him enough to do all that work». (‘They’ being the insurance company) He left me no choice but to just have my tooth refilled and to find a different dentist that would do the work required for my tooth. The cherry on top of this cavity inducing cake is that after he filled my tooth the second time I sat in the chair feeling around with my tongue at the new filling. I noticed that some of the bonding had fused my three teeth together. I asked him if it would be ok if I could have some floss to make sure I can floss between the teeth and he said «You don’t need to floss!» as to have me go about my merry way becasue he seemed to be running behind with his other patients. I am beyond appalled at his lack of professionalism and disregard for the best interest of me as a patient. I will be filing a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

Okay, so I’m like everyone else and I do my homework for the care that I need. I call here and there and I always get how much work has to go into what I need done and that the cost their asking is normal. Well, I wasn’t born yesterday and all I wanted was for someone to be honest and not try to rip me off for something simple as relining my dentures… that’s all I needed but nooo, it has to cost $ 500 a plate or more. Really???
Then I called Dr. Schaeffer’s office, not only did they work with me on the time I could get there but the cost was way better ($ 300 per plate) and I could get them the next day. This was especially important since I work with the public and was going out of town. It was a no brainier. Period!
So, if your reading this take my advice, go to a guy that’s been in the dental business most of his life, who has an incredible accommodating staff and you’ll be treated with the greatest of care no matter what your needs are.

Don’t ever take your children or teens here. It’s been 30 years since I’ve been there and every time I hear his name or see the building I tense up. Amongst my terrible experience, he said having a whole in my molar and leaving bread in it so it wouldn’t hurt my tongue was like a thousand little boys peeing in my mouth. Was that necessary? I was 16 and had no insurance and started working in a restaurant to get money to pay to get my cavity filled.(And that’s the last thing a 16 year old wants to spend money on.) I got it fixed as soon as I could afford too, but Dr. Schaeffer made me feel ashamed and dirty.

This dentist is rude, uncaring, and too old. will not recommend this man. we went to him for an appointment told me that I couldnt use my insurance for an exray cause we used it already so I paid cash come to find out 6 months later he charged my insurance and I paid in cash. When I called he said I was trying to scam him and said some awful words to me. Thankfully I had my reciept and my insurance information and he was still arguing with me don’t recommend this man!!! even his staff seems scared of him I witnessed this man speaking rudely to them also.

I just started going to Dr. Schaeffer and I won’t go to anyone else. My last few experiences with dentists have made me fearful, but not anymore. I needed a filling and was of course afraid of the needle, but Dr. Schaeffer was amazing, I didn’t feel an ounce of pain. Dr. Schaeffer was quick & efficient, I was out of there in just over a half hour. I now have my husband going there too. I highly recommend Dr. Schaeffer to anyone and everyone.

I had an emergency and NEEDED to see a dentist to get a root canal. I called Gentle Dental and they could only get me in next wednesday. I decided I would still look around and came across Dr. Schaeffer. I called and the lady who answered the phone got me in within the next 30 minutes. The place looked clean and I trusted this dentist because he seemed like he had been doing this for a very long time. His office staff were all very friendly and comforting. He completed my root canal within 30 minutes. That is unheard of. The price was very reasonable and we made the next apt. and I was out the door. I really actually (surprisingly enough) enjoyed my time there. He was friendly and very organized. He was patient and very gentle with all of my needs and curiosity. He explained everything he was doing and thanked me for choosing him and trusting him. He was definitely skilled and very fast! He does things kinda of an old school way, but I wouldnt change a thing. I HIGHLY recommend this dentist!

His staff compliments his practice very nicely and I have been so pleased. It wasn’t until my last visit that I realized how great this denist really is. That tooth extraction I mentioned in the beginning that Medi-​Cal pays for, I had done. Well, I ended up getting dry socket because I didn’t do my part. Not only is he fixing the problem I caused at no cost, but is also meeting w/​me on a Sunday to treat me (due to a long holiday weekend). All, and no pay.
