Fast, Friendly, & delicious! We will definitely return here! Amazing Elk burger. The service was great — we were shopping & this was a perfect stop along the way!

Good food, good service, a very pleasant experience overall! It was kid friendly and had a good variety of choices!

The Grubsteak was nothing to write home about. The Elk burger was bland, the bbq brisket sandwich was «meh», as were the chicken fingers. A bit overpriced for an underwhelming meal. The highlight was the friendly staff and local microbrews.

The food was very tasty. The biggest complaint would be that the food came out lukewarm. The marinara sauce on the pasta was very spicy, so be prepared. The buffalo meatloaf had a good flavor. The brisket had a delicious, sweet BBQ sauce. The burgers were very good. Overall, we would go back.

Very good, well cooked meats, wonderful variety of meat (yak, elk, buffalo), great sides, WONDERFUL and attentive service. Cute covered patio and indoor area. Good prices. Would definitely come again.

My family and I stopped by here for dinner after a wedding we attended. The décor in the restaurant is pretty cool. It made me think of how it was in Colorado when the first pioneers showed up. A real country/​cowboy feel. The staff was good and the food was pretty tasty with a good selection to choose from. I have always wanted to try elk and I took this opportunity to do so. I enjoyed it very much and it was cooked to order. The only thing we all felt was wrong with The Grubsteak was the portions. For a meal over $ 30, I was hoping for a bit more mashed potatoes and veggies at minimum. It is a tourist town but at least fill the plate up if you are asking as much as they are or use smaller plates to look like you are giving a reasonable amount of food. Happy to try the place but will seek others next time I’m in town.

Stopped here for lunch while in town for a wedding. We were seated right away on the back patio, which was a nice surprise given that it was a beautiful Saturday in the summer. Both my husband and I had the cowboy burger, which was great. I had beef and he tried the yak — both were tasty! Burgers were cooked well. They also had a nice selection of craft beer. We’d come back :)

Service was outstanding, spot on. Food was fantastic, plenty of choices whether your taste is steak or a burger. I opted for a burger with ghost pepper mayo, avacado and chilies on top, YUMMO. Definitely a good choice for dinner. I will be back next time I’m in town, no doubt about it.

We had dinner here and the server was great. We really enjoyed the cheeseburger, homemade guacamole, salsa, and tortilla chips, and wedge salad. One member of our party had an elk steak and didn’t like it, but overall, this was a good experience in a centrally located venue.

Food was good, nothing with a wow factor but still very good. I had the veggie burger with mild ghost pepper mayo and avocado that was quite tasty. My husband had a blue cheese burger with the elk patty which was moist and juicy. Enjoyed and would go back. Only downfall is a veggie burger or elk/​yak/​buffalo burger is an up charge of $ 2 – 3.50.

The yak burger with bacon, bbq sauce and cheddar was amazing and super juicy. The boar sausage stuffed mushroom caps were also delicious. Our server Amanda was friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Only suggestion to potential customers would be to bring a sweater or sweatshirt because it was a bit chilly and with the door to the outside opening and closing frequently, it got a drafty. Overall, a great experience and my husband and I would definitely eat there again.

The food came out quickly and was pretty good. It is reasonably priced and you are given a decent portion. They were able to accommodate my wife’s need to eat gluten free (she has Celiac). I have had tastier meals elswhere, but this is a good place to get a good meal when in Estes.

So good! Went with the wild game burger, yak. Beyond delicious! Cooked to perfection with an amazing char. My boyfriend got the elk steak. Also amazing. Should we make it back to Colorado we will seek this place out again.

Great service and family friendly. Good was good and we would go back. A couple of us had elk burgers, one person had a pasta dish and another had a salad. Kids enjoyed their food as well. Everyone was happy with their selection. They also had a decent beer selection. The 90 shilling was excellent! Overall good experience and good food. It won’t blow you away but it’s a good choice if you want a decent sit down meal.

Food was pretty fast. Has a verity of different items on the menu. Everyone liked their meals.
When we got there we were listening to some weird techno style music then some oldies came on which was great.
Coffee was good, overall we will be back. Good home style food.

We went here 3 times on our two day trip for two reasons: 1) they were pretty good and knowledgeable about gluten free food and celiac and 2) we wanted to try both yak and elk and not in one sitting. I had no idea how they had yak in Estes park but apparently someone started farm raising them in Nebraska and Grubsteak is one of the only restaurants that has access to them.
The yak was good! But a few hours before having elk, I saw a herd of elk and it made me feel sad and not enjoy it much.
They have a good hard cider — Wild Cider spiced Apple pie.

My favorite burger place used to be on the other side of the street, but no longer.
I took the misses here for St. Valentine’s dinner. So glad I did really good food (awsome but could have been rarer) Jay was excellent and knowledgeable server. All in all very happy we picked here instead of Longmont.

This place is a really good option when visiting Estes Park. I ordered the BBQ sandwich and it was really good. Get the fries to fill you up or the Coke slaw to keep it light. Service was excellent. The other order was a cheese burger which I would say just average. Lots of options for beer and drinks.

My husband and I have been here many times and always have had a great experience. The food is incredible!
Service is excellent. Our bartender /​server Reilly was fantastic! Super good cocktails and fast and friendly service always with a smile. We really enjoyed talking with her, she is a great bartender, we love her already. She suggested I try the Boulder burger (yak) and it was the best burger I’ve had in a long time… yummy. perfect medium cook. My husband had the Philly cheese steak and he absolutely loved it.
The food is always hot, fresh and cooked perfectly. The menu has an excellent selection of burgers, elk, beef or hey… try the Yak! It’s great. Very lean meat, not gamey like elk and never dry. Try it you will love it! The onion rings are soooo good, crunchy light batter and not greasy at all. Yum!
If Reilly is available sit at the bar and enjoy exceptional cocktails and service from a really awesome person. We hope to see Reilly again when we visit Estes Park.
Of course we will be back and ask for our girl Reilly.
