Hult Center For the Performing Arts

Hult Center is the home of the Oregon Bach Festival. It’s been a stunning venue for musicals like West Side Story, the opera Dimitrij, concerts, dancers like Pilobulus and Momix. It’s got a splendid structure, very open. There are no bad seats. It’s no wonder the Bach Festival calls this home.
It’s sizable enough without leaving you swamped. There are various levels, clean bathrooms, even good intermission refreshments. Hult Center is a jewel in the home of the Ducks.

Beautiful venue. Convenient parking garage near by. $ 6 for event parking. A little annoyed that they allow late entry. It disturbs the performance for those of us who make it on time. Not sure if thats a venue policy or the perfomers policy. Bathrooms are clean. Cant ask for much more.

The Hult Center is a great place to see a show. It’s not so large that you can’t get a great view. As with any theatre they could use more foot room. The new online buying experience where you can literally click in the empty seats that you want to purchase is awesome. Could use a couple more varieties of drinks at the in house bar but not too bad. And you can get a beer brewed locally which is always nice.

we have seen COUNTLESS concerts and performances. we love to see stand up and concerts and everything in between.
Hult Center is one of my favorite venues.
Its gorgeous, and they have REALLY quality acts there.
our first experience with Hult was seeing Conan O’Brien on his tour. We LOVED it!
we have since gone for a couple other shows; anytime theres a Hult Center option, we try and go there. this does mean that we pay more. which is really the only downside. Ive noticed an increase in price per ticket to see a show at Hult versus in Portland somewhere, which is not something we love.
but it is gorgeous. the acoustics are awesome. usually we manage to get seats fairly close (furthest we have sat was about 15 rows from the stage, so we arent sure how it looks and feels and what the experience is for those sitting behind). get your seats early, presale if you can.
and if you have a question, always send an email to clarify. the event coordinator is really efficient and will reply quickly, but sometimes the website is misleading in ticket info. so always clarify! (a couple times I thought I was buying VIP seats, turns out I wasnt. boo.)
We are heading down there next year for Alton Brown’s tour and looking forward to it!

I definitely recommend attending an event at the Hult Center! Located conveniently in downtown Eugene, the Hult Center houses a lot of quality acts.
Parking is accessible for it’s visitors with a large parking garage available at affordable prices or there are typically many open parking spots along the side streets.
The Hult Center is incredibly spacious, long halls, carpeted floors, and high ceilings. Several auditoriums varying in size are available at this location and most, if not all seating is great in each one.
I’ve attended a number of my work’s events at this establishment and have always been more than pleased with everything from the seating, the sound system, and lighting. Even the ticket handlers, ushers, and waitstaff are a pleasure to converse with.
The energy of the building is usually warm and lighthearted, people filing in and out of the main entryways are always smiling and seem to always enjoy themselves very much.
I’ve only attended ballet events at the Hult Center but I highly recommend them! They are consistently beautiful and inspiring. Having worked with a number of the staff here, I was very impressed with their generosity and efficient ways of tackling last minute hiccups.
My one complaint is in regards to their stairs, they are incredibly steep and smaller in size. Ladies, if you are a fan of wearing stiletto heels or platforms, like myself, please take caution when making your way up and down the stairs, those handrails are there for a reason!
I embarrassingly enough, have on occasion had several instances of falling face first down a couple of those tricky stairs. Be careful!
A lovely way to spend an evening, the Hult Center will not disappoint!

Besides the new Knight Arena, this is the place to see popular shows in Eugene. I’ve seen Hello Dolly, Swan Lake, and Bill Cosby. Fancy, and not a bad seat in the house. It’s located downtown by the Hilton, lot parking is usually $ 5 but there is a lot of metered parking on the side streets, which is free on weekends.

The main auditorium is huge and to pack in so many seats in the available square footage, the architect decided to place several hundred seats facing the oppose wall rather than the stage. A few seats in the top balcony offer an excellent view of a pillar. So if you want to see what’s on stage without getting a stiff neck, be careful what seat you select; naturally the seats facing the stage are the most expensive. (I know about the side-​facing seats and stiff neck from experience.)
The acoustics are good. The sound engineer controls take up seating space rather than being placed in one of the control booths in the back. Apparently for better sound control.
The parking garage for the center is next door and there is another lot across the street. Convenient.

Saw Jim Gaffigan last night at The Hult Center. It’s a beautiful venue and I always enjoy the events that I attend. Last night was no exception.
My only complaint, because I am that kinda woman, would be the adjacent parking structure. It takes forever and at least half a day to get out. Not really The Hults fault but I need to blame someone.

The Hult Center is an amazing venue, it’s absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. The size is just right, as others have mentioned, you can sit anywhere and enjoy the show.
Rather you’re seeing a stage show or a concert, it’s the perfect environment. I’ve been to countless musicals, caught Conan O’Brien on his nationwide tour after the NBC debacle and now am looking forward to seeing Billy Idol play this weekend. This should show you the array of choices that come through this lovely building.
The staff is always attentive and helpful which adds comfort to the quality entertainment. I absolutely adore a place you can stroll in to see a play and not gag on the pretension in the air. I’m always excited to see who’s coming through the Hult, not just for the show itself but because I honestly enjoy visiting the venue.

If you paid $ 10 for an online ticket purchase at the Hult Center, you were not on the Hult Center’s website. You were taken by a scalper.
Only buy tickets for Hult Center events at the Ticket Office or on the real Hult Center website at

Two dollar fee for phone ticket purchase, TEN DOLLARS for online purchase. Completely unacceptable in such a small city.

Absolutely enjoy coming to this place as both a performer and an audience member. As a sound engineer sometimes I get annoyed at the sound guy during vocal shows, but I’m anal about that. This is such an incredible venue for such a small town. We are truly blessed to have this place in Eugene Oregon! I love that it looks like a easter basket too! ;) Can’t hate that!

I’ve seen several productions here and they are always great. I like buying tickets at the box office to avoid the service fees. One of my complaints is the pricing of some of the shows which can be steep given the venue.

As a venue, the Hult Center is about as good as it gets for Eugene. I’ve seen many shows here from David Copperfield to the Zapp Dancing Troupe, all were great shows on their own but it takes a great venue to be able to host it well. In a nutshell, the Hult Center gets a high grade for being able to showcase great shows in a well maintained facility.
The seating capacity is medium sized to small, reflecting the fact that Eugene isn’t exactly a booming metropolis. It’s not as intimate as a bar or small theater, but this place more than gets the job done. With that said, almost every seat is a good seat. The front row might even be a little too much and some folks swear by the balcony level seats.
The place is always well maintained and the bathrooms are super clean. Even from shows, I’ve attended this space for conventions and they’ve always done a good job of keeping everything organized. Parking is easy and evenly spaced out on multiple floors via a connecting garage. I can always look forward to attending a show at the Hult.

Nicely designed space. Not really a bad seat in the house. They get a nice variety of events during the year. They are famous for hosting the Bach festival amongst other things.
During the Bach festival you can take your lunch to the lobby and they play a concert once a week for free!
Note: Get your drink on before the event starts. Once the show is on, the bar goes away… drat!
