We specialize in high end tea including oolong tea, black tea, puer tea, white tea, and green tea that we import straight from the farms. We have over 70 types of single estate teas to choose from. You can enjoy any of the teas here in the shop, or you can buy the loose leaf to make in the comfort of your own home. We specialize in finding the tea that is right for you.

History

Established in 2004.

We began as a wholesale business, sending tea directly from Taiwan to teashops throughout North America. While we continue to wholesale, we have opened up our retail tea shop. Here we offer tea tastings. Much like wine tastings, patrons can enjoy a flight of teas starting at $ 5 for three teas. This is a great way to try before you buy. We also sell online and now our tea can be purchased at a handful of natural product supermarkets such as Capella, Sundance, Kiva, Marche Provisions, Market of Choice and Down to Earth. We continue to travel to Taiwan twice a year where we select the freshest and highest quality teas that we can find. It is our hope that we can provide you with a tea that you enjoy greatly.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Josh moved to Taiwan in 2000 where he studied Chinese martial arts, completed a degree in International Business Management and fell in love with oolong tea. From this passion, J-​TEA was born. At the end of 2005, Josh moved back to his hometown of Eugene, Oregon and continued growing J-​TEA. Since the end of 2005, Josh has made eight trips to Taiwan to select high grade tea and to continue learning about tea and tea culture. His passion for tea has continued to grow over the years and he loves to share tea and tea culture with everyone he meets. In the Autumn of 2009 he participated in the southern qualifying round for Taiwan’s national tea brewing competition. He was the only non Taiwan citizen to participate in the competition.
