Established in 1983.

James Heating and Air Conditioning is a family-​owned company that has been servicing the Eugene and surrounding areas since it was founded in 1983 by James Chittim. In 1994, James passed away leaving his son Brian Chittim as president and owner. We then opened our Salem location in 1995. Upon graduating high school in 2013, Brian’s son Brandon Chittim went to trade school to join the team and has since became a full-​time service technician with the intention of one day operating the company.

We see ourselves as professionals and strive to create a work environment that reflects our team-​oriented company. Everyone shares the desire to provide the highest-​quality service with the customers’ wants and needs in mind and that people want and deserve to have their expectations met and exceeded. I was in desperate need of a duct cleaning, as my dust allergies have been acting up and the service was suggested to me by a friend. I called James Heating and the woman on the phone was very friendly and got me scheduled with a duct cleaning the same week. When the technician arrived, he was very friendly and fully explained the process to me. Afterwords, he even showed me before and after pictures of my now spotless ductwork. I would recommend James Heating to anyone in the Eugene/​Springfield area!

After calling around during our hot summer to get prices for A/​C, we were lucky enough to find this company, and Larry our salesman. They were able to install within a week, and had the best price for what we needed. However, after a week, we inspected the work they did in the attic and realized they cut some corners. One call to Larry was all it took to get it fixed. And then when we put our house on the market, we needed something else done (not their fault) and again, it was done quickly and affordable. Thank you Larry for a great job and customer service.

I called James Heating and Air after becoming completely frustrated with the people who originally installed my furnace. They sent out a technician the next day. Brandon (If I remember his name correctly) arrived on time, diagnosed the issue in minutes and solved my problems — all for the price of the house call. No hidden fees. No suggested, expensive, repairs. I will use them again for any repairs in the future.

Why oh why is the services industry in the state of Oregon in a constant state of neglect and decay? For years we sifted through the rubbish of one heating company after another only to end up with a expensive bill and the forged expression of confusion on our faces as we ended up not knowing what was exactly fixed, and what we actually paid for.
A couple of years ago we found James Heating and Air Conditioning and we have used them for several jobs on our numerous properties including duct cleaning, heat pump repair, annual service, and a new heat pump and furnace installation. Each experience has been a genuine pleasure, all of the staff are kind and courteous (rather than abrupt and coarse) and the prices are fair. They beat the competition in regards to new equipment installation by a whopping 200% however their duct cleaning is a bit expensive, but this is quickly overlooked by the careful consideration that the service people put in keeping your place clean while they perform their job, so we are more than willing to embrace the wee bit extra. As a matter of absolute importance is the tone and intonation of the phone and scheduling staff, and the good folks at James are some of the finest. If you are a failing heating and cooling company looking for secrets to make your company a success, then model your company after James, and if you are a home owner looking for reliable and long lasting heating and cooling solutions, look to James for all your home comfort needs.
